Goddam these f-ing writers. WTF are they doing, they're rooning the freakin series. I was so looking forward to this episode, but that was pretty rough to watch. They better get there act together for the premier.

I actually thought it was pretty funny, except for the last segment which was lacking. The Halloween specials are always a little less-funny than the full-length episodes. It's a lot harder to fit an entire plot in 7 minutes and get all the gags in.

I thought it was pretty fucking funny, but the leprechaun made the show, lol, i laughed so hard when he came on and did his babbling and talkin in gibberish. But yes, other parts did suck. But i think theyll be able to pull it together and put out a good season.

i didn't like it. it just didn't...work for me. there were a couple of laughs but not enough laughs. this is a poor opening for the season. the leprachan wasn't that funny. it just...eh

I thought it was really funny...the last segment wasn't that great, but the second one was fucking hysterical...i laughed my ass off at the matthew perry and dennis miller thing.

and i say the leprauchan was funny!

I thought it was pretty okay. I thought the vomiting frog mutant was hi-larious. Besides, even if the season isnt as good as others, Its still one of if not the best all around show on TV.

I thought the leprechaun was great, after all, Irish midgets=always funny, especially those with unusually large ears.

The rest of the show was kind of lacking, as they have been for the last season or so. But, the show has been on for 12 years, so I tend to cut them a little slack. We'll see how the rest of the episodes turn out...

I DID say there were a few funny parts and here's the part I probably laughed the most from- in the 'Hex' episode at Moe's after Lenny and CArl dies, it shows Moe stuck in a jar of pickel brine and Homer just says "when the hell did that happen!?"

I do agree, that leprechaun had me laughing my bals off, but he was pretty much the whole show. My friend says all the good writers from the Simpsons went to work on Futurama, leaving behind the mediocore ones. Anyone know if thats actually true?

I don't know if that's true but Futurama is more consistently on the mark than The Simpsons

It wasn't up to par with past Halloween epsiodes, but it did have some funny stuff. My favorite part came from Lenny when Homer asked where he could find a leprechaun.

Lenny: You could find Jesus. He's like 6 Leprechauns, but harder to find.

All in all, the Simpsons still is one of the funniest shows on television and will (hopefully) remain so.

Simpson's was ok; as Froy said it is hard to get a lot in each segment.
more than normally, these segments required you to get the references.
If you didn't see 2001 or read Harry Potter, you lost alot.
(of course even if you DID read Harry Potter, the last segement was mediocre)
