Hey, I'm doing an FU to a body part... I'm ripping off Alkey... hoo hoo...

Holy fuck, my wisdom teeth are coming in and it is excrutiating. I have to get these things ripped out.

Every night, I wake up when I roll to one side, because of the pain the pressure on it causes.

Fuck!

Froy you have to get them removed.
I had all 4 taken out at the same time, even though just one was coming in.

Your face gets extremely swollen for a few days but it's worth the pain.

The Radio Dentist told me.

Someone told me once that there's a right and wrong, and that punishment would come to those who dare to cross the line.
But it must not be true for jerk-offs like you.

Man, I totally feel for ya there. I remember when I had mine and it was hell.

I made the mistake of having all 4 taken out at the same time. Trust me, eating is nearly impossible when both sides of your mouth are swollen, stitched up and in excruciating pain.

My advice to you if you can would be to only do one side at a time. I know it will be a bitch having surgery twice, but at least you'll be able to eat semi-normally.

Drink a half a bottle of Jack Daniels. Oh, that's right, you don't drink. OK, cook up a half load of heroine.......

I got all four pulled in november, the surgery was really quick, but i remember crying for practically 24 hours straight after I came to. thank god for vicodin, but it was only really bad for a couple of days. Besides the whole crying for a day thing, it wasnt that bad

I got all 4 removed at once, a few years ago. It wasn't too bad, gave me an excuse to lay in bed for a week and not brush my teeth.

The only problem was the mysterious life forms that were perpetually all over my lips. Well that and, after waking up from the anesthesia following the surgery, is where I got this screen name from.

But that lip crud REALLY sucked

I've heard mixed stories. I've heard from people who had theirs taken out and were eating again that night, and people who were in pain for days.

I guess it depends on how badly they have to gut your mouth.

OUCH!

I'm grateful I never had to deal with what you're going through Matt, but mouth pain is definitely the worst. Hope you feel better soon.

The only thing I recall from getting mine taken out was that they gave me really good painkillers. According to my family, I spent the next three days staring up at my bedroom ceiling and giggling hysterically.

I think it all started with the Declaration of Independence -- the idea that we had the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That pursuit is what took America from the revolution to the computer age in 200 years. But the progress has come at a price. The obvious being the people that were exploited to make it possible; the not so obvious being us, the first group of people that were given no obvious frontiers to conquer. We hear stories that about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?

I had all 4 take out 2 summers ago, the 1st week was a nitemare... the pain is unbelievable.... you'll be on and liquid and softfood diet for about 3-4weeks.... but the plus side is you have a Nice big bottle of Percocet to get you through it...

I had all 4 removed at once when I was a junior in high school. All 4 were impacted. I looked like a chipmunk for a couple of days, but I don't remember being in too much pain after the first day (and yes, the percoset helped!). One thing that might have made a difference -- mine were taken out in the hospital (day surgery), not the oral surgeon's office. I don't know why that would make a difference, but it might.

Either way, the pain of getting them out is probably nothing compared to what you're feeling now. Good luck!

Oh yeah, and I'd say get all 4 done at the same time...that way you don't have to think about doing it again.

Bah!

Froy loves going to the dentist.

The dentist puts his tool in his mouth...out...in...out... and just when Froy doesn't think he can take it anymore, the dentist says, "Ok Froy, you can spit now."

Jeeze I musta lucked out. I had one pulled when I was 21 and another pulled when I was 23. My face didn't swell up that bad but I was doing the Gene Simmons blood spitting impersonation for a few days and I wasn't really in a lot of pain. May the Force be with you dude.

I almost forgot, when you get home, you are going to puke up all the Blood you swallowed during the 3 hour procedure. Not only will your face be swollen, but you will have bruses all over your jaw line from the dentist spreading your mouth open in ways that were never meant to be...

I had one pulled out about two-and-a-half years ago and two more (both on the same side) yanked out last November. I had zero problems whatsoever. I was back at work the next day, eating regular meals that same night, swelling was minimal and I experienced no bleeding after the surgery itself. I saved all the painkillers I was prescribed for future entertainment. (Fast Freddy, I still have a few left.)

The worse part of the fuckin thing was the fact that extracting wisdom teeth is considered "surgery," and therefore fell into the jurisdiction of my medical -- not dental -- insurance. Dr. Sniffen (good call, Delta Sig) was in-network for my dental insurance but not for medical, so I ended up having to pay out-of-network costs. "Stupid . . . you're so stupid."

I had my two lower ones impacted into the jaw bone and the two upper ones coming through the gum. It was painful.

Hey if I can get them all pulled out at the same time while being awake and of sound mind (no drugs)...then you can too.

But I must say, the Jay Leno chin you'll have for about a week afterwards, is worse. The bruising and swelling sucks.

But think of the bright side, you get to keep them afterwards in a little bag for years to come!
