| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01  | While I am a newbie and discouraged from starting new threads I thought some of you have could empathize with my plight. Recently I joined Bally's to start lifting again. So I join and start going. My Findings are: COMMERCIAL:TONS OF HOT GIRLS REALITY: there are no hot girls.(or white people for that matter) COMMERCIAL:MACHINES ARE NEW REALITY: half the machines are broken COMMERICAL:YOU CAN WORK OUT NO PROBLEM. REALITY:the place is always crowded and I am waiting around for a machine that actually works. REALITY:the weight room looks like the prison yard at San Quentin. COMMERCIAL:THE LOCKERROOMS ARE CLEAN REALITY:I have a better chance of not getting mugged in Washington Heights. So now they have my money for three years @ 17%, I checked out other locations and they are all the same and I am destined to remain a flabby bastard because I am unmotivated to subject myself to that shithole!! FUCK YOU BALLY'S!!!  | ||||

Did you take a tour of the place before you shelled out your money? 3 years is a pretty serious investment in terms of pissing away several hundred dollars in one shot. And if the machines are all broken, there are these new inventions called 'free weights'... of which I don't think I have ever seen a broken one. And if you're a flabby bastard, then what in the hell did you go and spend 3 years worth of membership in one shot for? Have you ever worked out before? Do you even know if you're going to keep at it? These places know damn well that most of the people who join as new members won't stick for very long. Sorry... no pity from me, pal. If you were unsuspecting enough to do that without at least checking the place out before hand, and you fell for dropping that kind of cash, I don't feel sorry in the least. The stuff you're bitching about could have been easily been flagged as a deterant with a simple tour of the place.

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Whoppers look a lot better on tv than they do in real life too, eh? Seriously... getting fit is not a pleasant experience. That is, until you start to see results. Don't let these things turn you off, and certainly don't let them become excuses not to go. MAKE yourself go, no matter how much you don't want to at times. Pretty soon you will start looking forward to it... I promise. Just a hint... the hot chicks are usually on the stairmasters!!! Not in the prison yard weight rooms. :)

| Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | I agree with ClusterF on this one, gyms are gyms. You shouldn't even have thought of going to Bally's because of the commercials. The commercials get too many people there, which causes traffic on equipment and long waiting to work out. I go to the gym 3 days a week, to a place that's a real shithole in Totowa, and i seldom have to wait longer than a set or 2. The place smells like sweat, like a gym should, and there are a couple hotties that work out there, usually on the bikes or stairmasters. This is what you should've looked for in a gym, not a glamourized gym like Bally's. That was just my opinion, sorry you got screwed.  RECENT GRADUATE OF THE SLACKJAW SCHOOL OF NEWBIE KNOWLEDGE! | Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | Which Bally's do you go to? The Bally's I go to has hot women there all time. We actually have one Star KIMMIE works out there all the time. Granted the Commerical was shot in the Bally's in Beverly Hills but I'm happy with my Bally's. | ||||
