The Lindros deal is almost in place, can they be any more retarded! But from what I've heard the Rangers are trying to get Sundin from Toronto, may even trade Lindwuss to them...

at least it'll make the season interesting, which hit will be the career-ending one...

So blow our mind and make it lazy
Those long long days with no escaping
I hold the wheel to let it go
Don't wanna stop, don't wanna know
If it gets you down, well just don't blame me

If only we're nothing at all

Don't think so but I don't think anyone got mine about the Hurricanes either...

Was it a Hurricane game that Lala's career ended with the Sabres?

Damn Goatlord's Sabre History site's LaFontaine memory section isn't working today. Not that you know who Goatlord is... it does not matter.

It hasn't been fun to go there and watch them since '97 when Mess and Gretzky were both there and they made the conference finals. I have to pay $1800 a seat to watch this Mess every year. How much of a jackass am I? FU to me!

Actually I was referring to the incident where
Brind'Amour got traded to the Hurricanes because
he wanted out of Philly after he caught widdle
Eric banging his wife....I'm sure Roddy would love
to be the one to take him out permanently :p

Was it the Senators that took out La Fontaine?? I
couldn't remember which team it was.

Uh, Lafontaine's career didnt end with the Sabres. He played a year with the Rangers.

And Im pretty sure the Hurricanes were still the Whalers when LaFontaine ended his Buffalo career.

Okay, now I think we're just confusing eachother
here....

I think Sloats made a comment about the Senators
taking out Lafontaine, no?

My reference about the Hurricanes was just about
the Brind'Amour / Lindros situation...

Sloats, comment? Sorry FB. See what happens when
good jokes go bad? :p

I was at the game where Keane connected with Lala. MSG went quiet. It was the Senators. I'm trying to find out what team Lala got hit in Buffalo. His helmet popped off and that was it for his career in Buffalo.....

OK...www.sabreshistory.com is back up. This is what they have to say. Apparently he played for a week after his head hit the ice:

quote:

On October 17, 1996 the Sabres were playing the Pittsburg Penguins. LaFontaine was dropped by a hit from 6'6", 236-pound Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Francois Leroux. The blow from Leroux's left elbow was to the left side of LaFontaine's head. As he fell, his helmet came off. He struck the right side of his head on the ice and went out cold. LaFontaine missed the next game but played the next week, he seemed fine but he wasn't. LaFontaine was beset by Migraines and depression, his eyes were glassy and unfocused and he was having trouble remembering things. Before the final game he tried to play, against the Philadelphia Flyers, he gave an emotional speech to the Sabres, an apology for the way he was performing.

LOL Slack, spoken like a true Flyers fan :)

I gotta say Booby's looking like a genius on this
one. Way to get 3 prospects and a draft pick for
the most useless player in the NHL!!! And all they
have to give up is a first round pick if Lindwuss
doesn't play at least 70 games...what a deal :)

Flyers/Clarke 1 Rangers/Sather 0
