I personally don't think its cool at all and I'm very glad I quit after high school cuz I got back a huge amount of brain when I did. Don't get me wrong, I don't lecture people on their pot use, cuz I don't wanna hear it when I get trashed while out~ I just rather my friends didn't hurt themselves with drugs and such. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00 | Never have and never will. Pot or tobacco. I had a bunch of friends in high school I would hang out with. When I first met them, we would play softball, basketball, handball, etc. We'd hang out and have fun just talking all night. Then, they started with pot. No big deal at first. Then came the shrooms and the mesc. Very slowly I watched my friends go from active people full of life to lumps on a bench without the desire to do ANYTHING! Over two and a half years, I watched their personalities do a complete 180. I tried saying something, to tell them how much they changed, etc., but they couldn't see and basicly told me to shut up and leave them alone. So I did. I got tired of doing nothing but sitting around watching them get wasted and just walked away. Drugs suck.  Mercenaries: Don't Fight till the Profits Right. A much wittier reply came to mind immediately after I clicked the 'Send' button. I have adopted VooDude. Room for one more. | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jan. 01 | Wahoo! This is finally the group for me to join. TOG! Is this the Anti-S.M.O.K.E.R. group? I havent smoked up in like 3 years or so. And I don't get mad at my friends when they smoke, I just go do something else when they do.  It's just "I love you" can mean a lot of things, like "You'll do till someone better comes along", or "I can't describe how I really feel but I know I'm supposed to say this", or "Shut up, I'm watchin' TV"...  | ||||

I've also had friends get so far into weed that they couldn't think straight anymore. Most of the time I keep my opinion of how stupid (and expensive) it is to myself, unless its someone I really care about. Bottom line is if people want to make themselves stupid, I let em. I had a best friend until last summer I knew the kid all of his life. I don't know him anymore. For all I know he could be dead. I say to each their own. I don't lecture anyone either, but I think they're idiots for screwing themselves up. While I realize the occassional user doesn't do that much damage, I have seen to many people fucked up by going on to other things. This is a club I'd like to join. Hey Dent, I'm with you on "tobacco either". Worse for your health than pot and rude to other people on the street. That and I feel it counts big-time against a chick's hot-factor. One of the hottest girls at school,... is smoking whenever I see her outside,... YECH.

I think it was the Refer Madness that scared me straight...... Or a kid who was a year older than me in school. Sure I smoked a few times but I never really got into it. My "ex" smokes weed every day and I think it's what makes him insane...that's good enough reason for me not to. You people have a beer after a hard day of work, I smoke a bowl when I get home. | Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | I figured I'd stay off the topic of alcohol since we were talking about smoking, but since we went off onto it, I see alcohol the same way: It's a way out. Sure, I'll have a little wine at ceremonies and religious events. I'd say I have nothing against the single social beer once in a while or the occasional glass wine with dinner,... it's even good for your heart. But not to get inebriated. Remember when Jesse Ventura said organized religion is a crutch for the weak-minded? I dunno if I'd agree with that, but drugs and alcohol are. Currently, I'm high on Neon Genesis Evangelion. I discovered it this weekend and it's the coolest,... and no harmful side effects. That's how I see things.
