A good chunk of their audience consists of the people who can't stand them, but are GLUED to the radio just to hear something that will set them off. And no matter how many times they get pissed at it, they'll never stop listening. Protesters are a great example of this - like when the "Kill A Kitten" fiasco happened.... all these groups spoke out against O&A and Lynch because of the song - but I bet most of them listened to every second of the show to see what would piss them off next. Hell, the protesters even had what you might call a "blind faith protester" call into the show - he wanted to speak out against "Kill A Kitten" but he had never even heard the damn song. Another good group for an example here is the Stern fans who say how much O&A suck. They listen to every minute of the show, claiming that they just want ammunition so they can say for sure just how much O&A suck... but hey, listeners are listeners. Whether they listen cause they like it or listen to get pissed off, they still listen. That's all that counts in the business. | ||||
