| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I don't think this is going to 100% sink in for me until when i get back home and drive on the BQE, and then look right and not see the towers there. Its almost surreal for me, especially being 250 miles away. and seing the pentagon burn from my dorm room is a scary fucking sight. Anyone else wanting to be adopted IM me at Jemo123 | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01 | The entertainment report I heard this morning said that the Friends' opening will have the towers digitally edited out ASAP out of respect. Personally, I think Letterman and Conan should keep their's. I don't think it's disrespectful at all. Those buildings are beautiful. I will forever remember the first time I saw them, bathed in the setting sun. I thought they were made of pure gold. A beautiful sight. Arthur- Amazing picture. Poinget. Heartbreaking, but poinget. | Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00 | You know, I have refrained from saying much of anything about this whole situation. But speaking of the NYC skyline, I also consider the Statue of Liberty a part of that skyline. The plaque on the statue says, "Give me your huddled masses yearning to be free." After everything that has gone down in the last few days, that plaque should be changed to, "Not fucking welcome!" For years we welcomed people who are seeking freedom and a chance to start over into this country with open arms. And our thank you for that is getting shit on? I DON'T fucking think so! Sorry all ,but alot of this has been bugging me and I just had to say something about it. | Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | It's gonna be wierd for me flying into LaGuardia and not seeing them...I can remember my first flight home from GA... ...it was a cloudy New York day and from the window of the plane you couldn't see anything below...as we began our decent we entered the clouds and from the misty fog within a dark mass of shapes appeared...as we lowered all at once the mass gained definition and I could make out the whole financial district with the Twin Towers rising high above...I said to myself "that's beautiful, that's amazing"...my mother leaned over and said, "there's nothing like it in the world"... man I hope they build a 300 story pair in their place...just to defy them by saying, "Yeah you knocked it down, but look what we put in it's place..." codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=5,0,0,0" WIDTH=250 HEIGHT=250> "As I sail through the night... I don't even know how I'm going to get there since I went to 2WTC everyday, I don't know how I'll be able to concentrate. I walked through there at least two times a day. Sometimes I went there for lunch or to buy a book at Borders or to shop at the Mall. Suddenly, my port of embarcation and disembarcation is gone. Totally and completely gone. I must say that even the TV news shots don't make sense to me because the landmarks are gone. I know that when I do return, I'm returning to a tomb. I still don't know how to feel about this. I just want a swift and proportionate response. This fucking blows.  | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jan. 01 | A friend of mune just sent me this picture. She took it in May from Liberty State Park. To think that we will never see that again. That our children will never see that. That our visitors will never see that. It just makes me cry. On a side note, I heard last night on CNN they were interviewing someone, and the stated that they WILL NOT rebuild the towers. This is not confirmed yet, but they spoke of a memorial of some sort. But no tall tower. I don't disagree with that. If they rebuilt it, would YOU work in them? I will have a hard time even going into that part of town again. EDIT - BTW, I live out in West Jersey. We can see the skyline from here though. My friend and I were standing on the edge of his lake last night where it's very dark, and you can see the sky VERY well. When you look up you can ALWAYS see many planes flying. It was weird that the only planes we saw were the half dozen military jets circling NYC.
