The question in my mind is, are we ready for the possibility of perhaps millions of Americans dying both overseas and at home? If we do invade another country, I have no doubt that there will be numerous terrorist attacks against us. Who knows how many civilians will perish in the coming years? Regardless, I believe we will emerge the winners, and no one will have died in vain. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Swallow my friend, I have said it before and don't mind repeating it. I am prior service (U.S.Army). I have served my time during conflict before but never "got the call". I will gladly, and am seriously considering reenlisting, lay my life down for this nation and it's great people. As was stated earlier in this thread, we will need our local millitary, police and federal agents more than ever, as our enemy will for the first time in a hundred years be attacking us on our own soil. I do not want to start the great debate again, but those opposed to the 3rd amendment need to realize that this is why we have it. That being said, at this point, we do not need to take up arms in our homes. The last thing we need is yahoos roaming the streets with guns hunting down "potential" terrorists. We must leave that responsibility to those we have already entrusted with the duty of our protection. If we as a people were to start singling out Arab Americans for their ethnicity, then we will have become the monsters that our enemy has already made us out to be. They used to call America the melting pot. As many of you know, the strongest metals are often alloys, blends of different metals combined to make one new, stronger material. I would like to think that this is where America's greatest strength lies. Our diversity when formed into unity creates an unbreakable bond. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | Im sorry I haven't been posting my latest wows. I have good reason. I am a soldier in the Army reserves and have been active since tuesday (9-11) I am getting about 3 hours of sleep at night only to be back at 6 in the morning. Yes it is scary as shit. We're an MP unit and we are waiting for the word of what to do next. I look at the sky now in disbelief that in my 7 years of service we're fighting this on our own home turf. This doesn't feel like America to me. And yes complacency kills. We were all so worried about the death of humanity on New years eve 2000 and when nothing happened we assumed it wouldn't. This tragedy has claimed the lives of an estimated 40,000 people. As to what you can do: Get off your ass and bring a book with you to your nearest blood bank to donate( Its a 4 hour wait to donate). Any kind of shovels, coolers, canned goods, eye goggles medical supplies, anything is needed. They thought they could turn this into a state of chaos and confusion and cause everyone to go against their brothers. They are wrong. It has only driven Americans closer together. Together we stand, United we dust ourselves off, and kick some ass. Pray for those who perished, and their loved ones and wish us luck.  | ||||

And if I find anyone not 100% behind our military, they will deal with me. I served in the Viet Nam era and was troubled by the way I was treated by Americans when I was in uniform. For someone already serving in the Armed Forces, to see the patriotism and heroism displayed by those in NYC, and D.C. makes us feel better. I printed this out and brought it into work to show some co-workers that the American Spirit truly still does live on in everyone. I'm also glad everyone realizes this will not be a short 2 day bombing mission. To truly root out the evil that did this will take time and effort, but I have every faith that our military and our generation will prove triumphant, and make the members of the "Greatest Generation" and the rest of the country proud. -------------------------- | ||||

I envisioned myself there, in full military gear, with a very large gun, putting very large holes in all of them. I want to be out there. I want to do SOMETHING. I have never felt so powerless in my entire life. But, as a woman, they're not gonna put me on the battlefield. That's HONESTLY where I want to be right now. At times like this, I wish I had been born a man.  I have graduated the Spitfire School of Debauchery. NOt to mention that just being a woman of the US ARMY Is a huge kick in the ass to the Palestinians. They are still a nation that believes that woman have no rights.
