| Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01  | Let me start by first saying that I am not making excuses for Bin-Laden and I am not against a retalitory attack. I believe they have to pay for the evil inflicted. My concern is the future, 20-30 years down the road. We as the most powerful nation must take a look at WHY these countries hate us and what causes that. Am I the only one who believes part of this war should be new technology on our part. We depend on that area of the world for oil and protect those who supply us. If the United States did not need oil from them it would be a big benefit for the future of our children. I know I will get responses saying we should drill our own oil but that will one day run out. Our entire economy is bases on 100 year old technology of automobiles. Its time to advance into the future. Just one of the many thoughts I am left pondering on after last weeks events.  Land of the free, Home of the Brave. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | I know we dont get oil from Afganistan. I am saying it is the primary reason we ever get inmvolved with issues over there. I wasnt going to use Iraq as an example but since someone brought it up I will. What cause the Rise of Bin-Laden? Well he started his movement during the gulf war, he was against us helping Kuwait (which is a HUGE Terrorist state, ask anyone who is from that area of the world). My point I was trying to make, sure we can wipe out Bin-Laden and eventually his whole army. My question is who will be the next anti-american to rise because of our oil interest in that area of the world. I was in the gulf war and I served 6 years in the Marines. I love the USA but will be the first to admit, we dont always fight for whats "right". Most of the time we fight for what OUR best interest is. Like I stated before, dont get the wrong impression..... I agree we must kikc some ass to scare future terrorist and set an example. Land of the free, Home of the Brave. | ||||

Nothing the Army can do when you have a bomb filled with anthrax out there. Granted we might still be around 20 or 30 years. but it will never be the same. | Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01 | In the entire recorded history of the world, there's never been a year where there wasn't NOT anyone fighting. Follow that logic..... Anyways, the point being, we're always going to fight wars and battles, physically, with deaths, because we're always going to find something to disagree about and there will always be someone who thinks it's okay to TAKE SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE because there's a disagreement. We're always going to have disagreements because, if there's more than one person on the planet, there will always be differing opinions. If we didn't have big guns and bombs and whatnot, we'd throw rocks. We'd stab with sticks. We'd kill with our bare hands. 20-30 years down the line, we'll be more thoughtful, more introspective, but not because we've LEARNED anything-- only because more shit has happened to us and there's more to talk about.
