the premiere is on tuesday and i was wondering what everyone thought about it on the board. will you watch it?? do you think its going to be good???? inquiring minds want to know.

personally I think its going to be a pretty good show. its an interesting premise and there are many things they can do with it. it will be interesting to see if they change anything of the story that we know and add their own personal touches or stay faithful to the story that we already know. i for one cant wait to see how good this show is going to be.

I think this is gonna be a pretty good show.

SuperBoy.

Nah this isnt gonna be anything like superboy. Superboy already had his powers, in this the whole premise is him jus discovering that he isnt like everyone else. oughta be really cool

I dont know much about the show.I've seen the posters and billboards around but that's about it.I did hear Stern talking about it one morning. He said basically the same as Joe that it's a Superboy re-make.

i agree with jj, the premise is he's coming of age and discovering that hes not like everyone else. that he has powers. plus superboy was intedned for a younger audience if i remember. this is intended for a buffy/angel-age type of audience

Did you hear about the new show coming in midseason on Fox? It's called "Fetal Superman".

First off, Joe- TV Funhouse reference, nice.

Secondly, I don't know. I don't like the idea of Luther and Clark being school acquaintances. Clark is too handsome and less nerdy than he should be.

And WB has had good shows in the past. OK two good shows. OK Now one good show which they lost to UPN.

The show MIGHT have potential and chances are I'll see the first episode at least.

How the fuck long are they planning to stick with that frog anyway? In the first year, I was like, OK, get the viewers' attention.
It's been SIX YEARS - they need a new game plan... At least Fox doesn't have Bart Simpson in their logo...

And not to defile this thread, but...

I hope to God they make more episodes of that show, just eight, that sucks. And what sucks more is that CC isn't even showing all of them, let alone in order. For example, I saw the Vegas/Triumph the Insult Comic Dog/Stedman episode THREE TIMES in SIX WEEKS! Did the 9/11 tragedy have an effect on the other shows? Who knows. It's still funny watching it the 399th time.

I noticed that too that the only episodes they seem to show are the Atlantic City ones which is a hugeshame because each episode is classic but you need to watch them numerous times to fully appreciate it. Jokamol is the stuff legends are made of. They NEED to hire Smigel for another season.
EDIT: And I haven't seen the 'frog' in a long time.

I saw it and It Pretty Much Stinks.

It's definitely eh. You never feel as if Clark is in any danger. In action shows you know the main character will live otherwise there is no show but there is the possibility for danger. With Clark/Superman you know he won't be hurt. You know that being tied up isn't dangerous, you know a car won't hurt him.

I also don't like giving him a Blonde Willow and Blander. And the popculture references spouted by Blander...I don't know. In Buffy it usually seems to fit but in this show it seems totally forced.

However I must see that the kid who plays Luthor is surprisingly great.

...ok so the opening was pretty cool, and there where some other cool elements but I wonder if they can keep up with the "feel" of it. Every really decent first episode I've ever seen is always followed by a mediocure series.
Another thing, the producers have said that we won't see the costume for a while, maybe not even this first season. I think they should save it untill the very last episode of the show when Clark arives in (or leaves for) Metropolis.
If they show us that kid in the super suit before that, the show might instantly 'jump the shark'. And Ikeaboy hit it on the head with the Willow/Zander comparison.

Well, I watched it, and I didn't think it was that bad. It could have been a lot worse. I think it's going to be interesting watching the development between Lex Luthor and Clark Kent before they become mortal enemies.

i saw it and i didnt think it was that bad. the kid that played luthor was suprisingly good at his part. sort of like a character thats on the cusp of being both good or bad. you feel he can swing to either side depending on the moment. as for the clark should be nerdier than he is comment by ikeaboy, its a reinvention of the character and in the comics, clark isnt a nerd, hes a pretty much together guy. nothing like the bumbling movie version of clark kent.
itll be interesting to see where they go from here

It was pretty much what i expected. I didnt think he was gonna be that nerdy, because it would turn off the core audience (the 13-18 demographic). I knew they would be the strong hunky type because they are gonna eventually merchandise off it. It wasnt horrible, but it wasnt great. And that actor playing Luthor was pretty good. I'll probably end up watching the show, but mainly because nothing better is on at that time-slot.

I heard that there will be no Super suit because of he never adopted the Super suit until he went to Metropolis

eh, it was ok, but like Seph said, there's nothing else really on at that time so I'll probably watch it...

The guy who played Lex was good, and how hot was the chick who played Lana! However, the story seemed kinda forced and seems like each episode is gonna feature how weird Smallville is and all the freaky things that go on there.

(BTW, anyone notice the Superman "S" comes from the Smallville team logo? maybe I just look too closely into this stuff)
