I am starting to get sickened by the people who will stop at no end to capitalize with the horrible tragedy of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington D.C.

I'm flipping channels and happened across Animal Planet, which is currently showing the effect of the tragedy on the animals of the city. WHAT THE FUCK!?! Does the story really need to be told, or is it just capitalizing on human curiousity?

Too many stories, too many reporters an journalists trying to get scoops on the story. This is giving much publicity to the terrorists and in my mind it underminds our efforts to counteract.

I don't think that we should put it out of our minds, but showing it over and over from different angles almost glorifies the act itself. It's like the guy who want to commit suicide but lures a cop into shooting him. He'll go out like a chump, but it's sure to make the papers. These terrorists did these acts to get recognition and every story and every show gives them what they want.

Sorry if I'm ranting, but it pisses me off.

Don't spend all your time tryin to get high
You need git up, git out and git somethin
How will you make it if you never even try

Scientologists are evil. It seems they will do anything to brainwash more slaves, er... "church members".

What's this? A thread with "whoring" in the title and nowhere does it read "Jim Norton"? ;)

Damn, I didn't know... that was the way I was gonna do it.

On topic, I received mail today from a financial investment seminar company that went on to say...

In light of recent events...volatile investment market...come to our seminar to learn how to profit in these troubled times yada yada yada

That was the first sentence. If I read further it probably said get your very own American Flag pendant with each paid reservation.

But on the positive side,
Subway is with us and Citibank feels our pain.

The heartfelt commercials are killing me.
Blah, blah, blah... you're trying to sell me shit!

Someone on the NYRMB commented that Lite-FM (look at me I'm Christopher Reeve, playing your lite music with less talk!) is running commercials with the flag waving, but they got Faith Hill and NSYNC and other assjockeys' music playing over it. A pointless ad if I've ever seen one - but since I personally haven't yet, it's still wrong.

I'm not a New Yorker, but I'm an American, and I am, now, more than ever, annoyed, irritated, and offended by the commercials that fill the air waves.

Now, more than ever, I have found myself wanting to write or call these stations and let them know that I turn off the television when I see Subway, HomeDepot, Visa, or Buy.com telling me that it's time to band together and stand up for the ideals of America. The only ideals these companies understand are those of capitalism and public relations.

I'm now, more than ever, sick of seeing Jay Leno mention New York at every turn as tho' he could recognize a building over ten stories. I think it's disgusting the way he whores himself out everynight by telling us how it's up to us to support NY. I don't need to be TOLD by fucking Jay Leno that it's time to support New York. No fucking shit, Jay! Really?! We should be supportive of a city that just had their heart ripped out? REALLY!? I'll be damned...

And I am, now, more than ever, sooooooo pissed at anchors who sit there, smiling, excited, that they get to say the phrase, "Next, hear the terrifying screams of those who perished on board flight 92, moments before they slammed into the first tower." I'm sitting there thinking that no human who actually sat there and SAW what happened, who reported this for 96 hours, could possibly say that without wretching! But they can, and they do, and we watch, and they're winning....

So FU to the people who forget that this is real. This isn't just a "story." No one wrote this shit. This happened. People fuckin' died. We're in a damned war because of it. This isn't just a "tragedy." People love that word, but that's not all it is. There is no word to describe what's taken place. How can any person or company think that they can put a name, a promotion, or a capitalist spin on it?
