Anyone else think this show is getting closer and closer to the shark with each new episode this season?

Had that very conversation with the Mrs. Pen last night. Don't like.....
Demons running in daylight, everywhere.
Spike with chip becoming good guy.
BooHoo Buffy.
The three nerds setting up as a major story line.
Willow's non hotty, bad acting girlfriend. We lost Faith and Cordy for her?
Fucking Musical Episode soon??? Start the engines and point at the ramp.

not really. they have a pretty big story to tell here and it cant be taken care of in 1 hour. and if they did people would say that they just glossed over the fact that she was brought back from the dead. from what ive seen the show isnt focusing on her killing vampires and demons right now, its more focused on her struggling with the fact that she was yanked out of "heaven" by her friends and brought back to a place that she considers hell(earth). and now with the inclusion of the 3 "nerds", "warlocks", whatever they are, they are injecting a bit of comedy into the mix again. i like where they are going this season so far.

Please could you stop the noise I'm trying to get some rest

I'm looking forward to seeing how this season develops. And no, I haven't seen a decline in the show.

Think about this. Every year, there has been "The Big Bad". A new super villain introduced every year at the beginning of the season.
The Master, Spike and Drusilla, Angel, The Mayor, Adam, Glory, etc.

This season, there has been NO "Big Bad" introduced. Except for Willow going too far with the magic and delving into magic's darker side. (Remember, she got one of the ingredients for Buffy's return form "the black market". Tara:"But that's all baby's blood and stuff.")

My theory, WILLOW will be this seasons "Big Bad". As Machiaveli said, "Power Corrupts. Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely." Willow will fall to the dark side of magic and Buffy will be forced to fight her best friend.

If Willow becomes evil, that could be cool. But the 3 nerds are no Glory. And not every episode has to be about killing vamps....the one after her mom died was awesome, for example. I can deal with a long setup if it seems like it's going somewhere, even if it's not (which is why we all watch the Sopranos). But it doesn't seem like it's going anywhere good. And don't even get me started on the musical episode...I'm gonna heave now........

I don't think show, be aware this is only the third week in. I'm still interested and we have not seen the major bad guy yet. Each season has a bunch of 'potential' evils at the start but no one is established until at least half way into the season. So far this season is better than S4. And I think that the Evil Nerd Trio is hysterical and great. They aren't the season's "bad" but they are just dorks in over their head and seeing their entire lair is just fucking hysterical.

And Dent remember how Willow blasted Giles "I'm powerful and it's best you don't piss me off." this episode so there is a good chance she could turn evil.

And Demons CAN walk in daylight, Vampires can't. And I don't know, I don't think Tara's all that bad.

However this being said, I don't know why but I kind of like the flow of Angel better than Buffy for the past few seasons. None of the shows are bad but I think I might like Angel better.

The movie was bad. But I think the show is one of the best on the air. The characters have been strong and it is very dynamic in storylines. New baddies every year, relationships change people come and go. And there is a good amount of dry comedy. I think it has held up better than NYPD Blue.

Anyone can tell you the series is a hundred times better than the movie.

I just meant the more times hundreds of people see the demons and it doesn't make the news etc. the less I like the show.....I know the whole show is fantasy but I like holding onto a shred of plausibility.

First, I like Tara. I think she's cute in that girl-next-door kind of way, not the really-gorgeous-california-chic kind of way like Cordellia or the confident-slut kind of way like Faith. And I like her better this season now that she's become confident and comfortable with the Scooby Gang.

Second, yes, demons can walk in daylight. What had bothered me is the lack of any action by the police! Alright, it was covered a bit during the "Mayor" story line when the school principal and the police officer agree to cover up Spike's attack on the school by calling it a gang on PCP, but it's a few years later. We should see SOMETHING from the cops by now.

And, did anyone notice that when Spike slammed Xander into a tree he DIDN'T flinch with a headache?!? Is it possible that the chip in his head DOESN'T work anymore and he's good because he WANTS to be good? Or did the writers and/or actor screw up and noone caught it?

Angel is great when they hang on to the Wolfram and Hart-related storylines. When they branch off it loses it.

The show is quite a brilliant show and I think it was the name (and the WB) that turned people off from it thinking it would be a stupid show like the movie, hell it prevented me from watching at first while simultaneously getting me to watch it. But it's definitely one of the best shows on television, one of the best to come out of the mid/late 1990s without a doubt. It's also the best jerkoff show EVER. If you think of all the chicks that have been on it from the beginning ever as just recurring characters...

And Chrissie Boner was the star of the movie...not Luke Perry.

I'm just waiting for the truth to come out (Buffy being in Paradise) and her friends realize what they've done. Not that they can really understand, being that they've never been there before. ;-) On a side note, Anya needs to die. I don't care for her moronic selfishness.

When Anya told Xander that her obsession with money was because of her fear of mortality and not being able to do everything in the "50 or 60 years" she has left, I thought they would phase that out of her character eventually. But, I still find it an amusing quirk.

On the other hand, I really want to see her an Xander get married and have a kid. See how mother Anya acts then.

It jumped the shark for me when I ran out of semen after spanking it to Sarah Michelle Geller. Hearing her say "I want to fuck" in Cruel Intentions makes me melt.

I'd F the S out of her A.

Gellar was so hot in Cruel Intentions and I totally liked that movie too.

Also, Anya's a bit self centered but really really hot so it balances out.

And this week's Anya's scene about money pretty much proved my point about pop culture buffy V pop culture Smallville. When Xander said "Action is his reward" it did seem natural unlike when Blander in Smallville spouted out like 20 popculture references one after the other.

As for the musical episode, sure it will probably suck but you have to give them credit. This show, unlike MANY other shows on the air, is willing to experiment with different formats.
