| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01  | I just joined their DVD club. I signed up on 12/25 and I just received my order. 7 days not bad. I got 5 movies for 29 bucks and I only have to buy 3 more before 12/25/2003. This sounds to good to be true. I know there has to be a catch somewhere. Has anyone else joined the club? I know they fuck ya a bit with the shipping charges but it looks like a pretty good deal.  | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01 | I signed up for the CD club, I've never had any problems. And the deals are great, especially if you want older stuff. Make sure you sign up and browse online, because they only show you a fraction of their inventory when you get the little monthly mail-ins. I believe in the Faith... that can save me. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | The great part about doing it online is that you don't have to return that little card each month, you can do it on-line. I was just looking at the prices and they're comparable to Best Buy or any chain store. Maybe there is no catch and it's just a good deal. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | One catch (unless they have changed it since I was a member) is that even if you fulfill your "3 more before 12/25/2003" obligation, they will still send you the card or however it is they do it now, and if you don't respond to the featured selection, it gets sent and you're financially responsible unless you send it back. | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jul. 00 | I did Columbia House with VHS a few years back. No problem here. Long as you send back the cards but, was able to do it online even then. Was a little dissapointed in the selection of films. Wasn't too bad but, not nearly as extensive as their music library. Actually thinking about joining for DVDs myself. Keep us posted. Edit: actually, if you want to e-mail me your personal info, I think you get like 3 or 4 free for getting someone else to join. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | i am currently a member of columbia house. they do send packets of stuff every month including the "director's selection" which you must say no to, either online or by mail. its no big deal though. online, you just click a little button that says you dont want it and your done. | Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | At one time or another, I've been a member of all of these clubs. BMG overall has the best offer, as you only have to buy ONE CD later, as opposed to Columbia House's 3 or 4. Currently, I'm in CH's DVD club. In general, the prices do tend to be a few dollars higher than your Best Buy or Wal-Mart. But in the end, you do end up saving enough money for it to have been worth it. With regards to DVDs in general, there are a number of them out there that are ridiculously expensive, ex: Kevin Smith's films. If you choose to take up Columbia House's offer, purchase the most expensive DVDs they have as your introductory order (if you happen to want any of them). | O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | i know the catch to columbia house, cause i fell for it... they have so many damn movies that you are going to want, that you order all of them, then realize you owe them like $200 for all 8 or 9 movies that you got. it is a great deal though, and i would reccomend that anyone looking to start a collection do it this way.  | ||||
