As a relatively new member, all this talk about the "good old days" makes me wonder if I had something to do with the defection of board veterans. I hope my few silly posts didn't make them all shake their heads in disgust. One thing I do know: I always enjoy visiting this board. Some people I will definitely miss reading (seph, k1d), and some I won't miss (maynard....fuck off). So what's the problem? Right or wrong, here are some of my observations and suggestions. 1. Post count is not a measure of intelligence, or your right to assert your opinion above someone else's. 2. People who try to disrupt this board should be banned. People who voice their opinions, even if it disagrees with a mod, should NOT be banned. (Why did Seph wait till his last post to disagree with Froy?) 3. You cannot post/read on this board if you have thin skin. If someone asserting a strong opinion easily offends you, then you should go elsewhere. 4. If you want to post contradictory opinions ALL THE TIME in an effort to be an internet tough-guy, then you should go elsewhere. 5. Inside jokes, cliques, exclusionism, and the focus of NYC as the only source for this board will only lead to further shrinkage. So now, there are a few less of us. Yep, this is just a message board, but it won't be much unless we pick up were others left off. The O&A show is the reason that we are here, it unites us, but it doesn't have to be the only thing that exists here... Ok, come and get me.....

However, to sit here and imply that he was in some way two faced, and waited until he was leaving to disagree with froy, or board policy or what not, without true knowledge is ludicrous. There is a happy little place here called BTS, where mods and admins go to discuss that which is not really our concern. Mods generally try not to step on each others toes in the public forum.... it happens, but not all that often. I for one have no idea what may have been said BTS, but I seriously doubt that you do either. Until you are graced with a private visit, how about you keep your trap shut about things of which you can not be certain? Rumor and gossip are part of the problem. I have no problem with people making comments I don't agree with. Hell, there are plenty of times that any number of the posters in question have pissed me off to some extent. The world does not see through my eyes, we will disagree, and that is certainly what this board and others are about. However, I simply can not abide blind speculation. If someone has an informed opinion on a topic, great, argue with me all day. However, if one were to come up to me and tell me that so and so was a dick because sally mae said so, I will tell them to shurt their trap. It is much like the dreaded "pile on". Sometimes something just does not need to be said, or should not be said by a certain person. It was nothing personal towards you, just a general statement sparked by you comment..... as if that makes sense...lol. Eat shit and die :) AIM | ||||
