What was the judge thinking? I mean she deserved so much more than this. We all know she married him out of love and not money. ;)
Seriously though, what does this say about our legal system that bullshit like this is allowed?
This is how the ruling should have come down.
Judge: "Okay Ms. Smith, I see here that you were 26 and your husband, the billionaire was 89. The court finds that you are a no good, worthless, money grubing, fat assed whore! You lose bitch, next case!"

quote:

Judge Awards Anna Nicole Smith $88M

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - A federal judge awarded former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith more than $88 million in damages Thursday in the latest ruling in a bitter legal fight over the estate of her late husband, Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II.

U.S. District Court Judge David O. Carter ruled Thursday that Marshall's son, E. Pierce Marshall, had interfered with Smith's attempt to get part of her late husband's oil fortune, estimated at hundreds of million of dollars.

``The evidence of willfulness, maliciousness and fraud is overwhelming,'' Carter wrote.

He found that E. Pierce Marshall and others spied on the couple and controlled his father's access to money to deny Smith the sums she was promised.

E. Pierce Marshall released a statement saying he would appeal and that his father ``would be appalled that the district court continued to ignore his clearly stated wishes.''

Thursday's ruling came after E. Pierce Marshall challenged a previous federal bankruptcy court decision that awarded Smith $475 million of his father's money.

Smith, 33, has fought lengthy court battles in California and Texas over the fortune of her late husband, who died at age 90 in August 1995, 14 months after they wed.

The former Playboy Playmate, whose real name is Vickie Lynn Marshall, met her husband in 1991 when she was working as a stripper. The couple married three years later when she was 26 and he was 89.

Before his death, his estate went into a trust that divided his fortune among charities, a foundation, his son and other individuals, but gave nothing to Smith or his other son, J. Howard Marshall III. She sued E. Pierce Marshall to get part of it.

Carter's ruling said Smith had a reasonable expectation that she would receive a portion of her husband's estate and that she would receive it without interference.

``J. Howard made numerous promises to Vickie that she would receive half of what he owned,'' Carter said in his ruling.

He said Smith was entitled to $44.3 million in punitive damages and the same amount in compensatory damages against E. Pierce Marshall, who controls the trust established by his late father.

``This is a complete victory for my client, and I think it's a victory for a husband's love for his wife,'' said Smith's attorney, Philip Boesch.

He said his client ``was subjected to the worst kind of legal maneuvering'' by her stepson.

Marshall and Smith were absent when the ruling was issued.

A year ago, a Texas jury concluded Smith had no right to any money.

If she was promised the money, thats one thing. But I highly doubt that was the case. And it's blatantly obvious that she is a dirty gold diggin whore. I'm just absolutely dumbfounded by this. I can see that if I hit it rich in the future (or any guy for that matter), the rest of my family is fucked cause you know for damn sure that I'm gonna go out of this world with a hot ass girlfriend, wife etc.

She married him, and was there till the end.
He knew the deal.

I would not agree if she divorced him after a year and got it. but..........

I've kinda got to agree with Ken's Pen. Sure she is a whore, but that is how the law works. People need to make better wills if they want money to go to a certain place or enter into a pre-nup. It sucks, but it the way of the world.

If I was the son, I'd also be pissed that this hoochy is taking half of my legacy. But, she did marry the old man, which makes what was his, hers. That's what marriage is.

This is justice because she was promised money upon his death....

I don't like it any more than the son, but it's justice. It sucks, but...

I don't have a problem with this. Like Ken said, she was there to the end. I think she deserves more for having to give this codger lap dances in the wheelchair, and probably emptying his colostemy bag every now and then. Ewww...reminds me of having to empty my grandmother's commode.

Now for me though, I've got everything planned out. All my cash, all 37 cents, is going to charities, like the American Cancer Society. I was even going to give some to the Red Cross, but after seeing how they handled the funds of the WTC families, I says fuck yas to them.

Ok. Here's the perfect plan. Who ever gets rich here and lives old has to get him a gold digging wife/girlfriend, and no matter how big her tits are or nice her pussy is, she gets one penny. I'm serious in you write ONE PENNY FOR MY GOLDDIGGING WHORE WIFE/GIRLFRIEND and the rest goes to your family. This will hit the news and should these fucking whores a lesson.

No offense Joey1120, but if you really think this is what marriage is about then I truly feel sorry for the man who puts a ring on your finger. His life will be all but over with an attitude like that.
You really need to grow up and learn more about life my dear, because that was a very immature statement. Either immature or a typical cunt's response.

Fortunately, the man who puts a ring on my finger won't be some guy who calls a woman he doesn't even know a cunt. Furthermore, when you are getting married, you are joining lives, or so it's supposed to be. What is yours is his, and what is his is yours. It is completely sharing lives. Why else would you feel the need to actually get married? What will be your motive for saying those vows? If it's anything besides this "immature" reason, you are perhaps doing it for the wrong reasons.

The guy was in his late 80s picking up trashy whore dancers in a dive Texas strip club. He knew what he wanted.

He was of sound mind, and made a business decision to spend half a billion of money that he wouldn't with him, so that he could fuck, lick, watch, soil himself or whatever the fuck else old people want to do.

He wanted her to have the money, he hated his kids, let her have the fucking money. She'll still be a fat, redneck whore with a faggot-ass mullet-headed son.

I know I'm jumping in on this late but I saw this and felt the need to comment.

While I understand what your point is Joey, I'd like to point out that the issue of financial gain is not a "mature" reason to marry someone. I believe that's what Flock was trying to say. Your taking offense to his statement should cause you to pause a moment and think about why. I feel that money too often skews what is really important. I believe that sharing (of lives, experiences, responsibility, etc.) is paramount to a successful marriage. Being overly concerned about money and who gets/earns/deserves what is simply, in my opinion, shallow. I can say without a doubt that saying our vows had nothing to do with money. Maybe that's why after so much time we can enjoy each other without wondering what's in it for us. I think that's "motive" enough. In fact, if you need a "motive" to marry someone maybe you shouldn't be marrying them at all.

Tell me where it hurts

You have missed my point completely. In my opinion the only reason you should ever marry is for love. That's how I feel. You love each other so much that you want to share lives, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, and so on. I never once implied that money was a "mature" reason to marry. When I say sharing lives, I don't mean sharing materialistic matter, although that is part. By sharing lives, I mean all the good, all the bad, the fun, the boring, etc. You just mistook what I wrote.

In this case, though, and in this day, the old man knew exactly what he was doing and what he was marrying for, as did the Bunny. I even said I don't approve of it, but it's the way it is.
