Just finished watching the CBS film shot by the two French filmakers on NYC firemen. Pretty scary to watch it all over again, especially with the footage shot inside the buildings and as they came down.

Just figured it might be good to see how everyone feels about the film that was shown. I think it just helps with the process of coping, and not letting us forget what happened that day.

The images they caught were so incredible. It was espically eerie seeing the towers the night before and the morning before the attack.

It was a very dramatic and emotional documentary, everyday I think about that day. And I hope that something like this never happens again. I cried at the end, when they showed the pictures of the brave firefighters who lost their lives on that tragic day. We must never forget and we must punish those responsible.

It was definitely hard to watch. But, I think it's something we all need to see.

I never want to forget, and I really hate it when people say that we have forgotten. Just because we move on does not mean we forget. Whenever someone says we've forgotten, it's almsot like saying it's ok to forget. It's not.

Every once in a while, I look at pictures, video, because I just can't forget. Probably the scariest thing I've read was the actual thread from this forum on that day. To read the sheer paranoia, panic, and confusion sticks in my head forever.

I was on the board all day that day, just to keep my sanity.

I was stuck in the city.... 3 blocks south of the Empire State building.... at the time, it was still possible that more planes were headed toward NY.... I remember listening to D&M's coverage of it all...

At one point, they cut to about 10 seconds of dead air... I *ran* across the building to a window, to see if Empire State was still there (everything CBS broadcasts from Empire)...

Anyone without Alzheimers will never forget that day... not ever.

The special was powerful as hell.

I sat there stunned for most of it. Those sounds (and the times when there was an absence of sound)just brought it all back.

Except for one thing that hopefully you can all help me out with. When it was all going on, I remember everyone (Mayor Rudy included) telling the story about how Father Judge was giving the Last Rites to someone when....either a body hit him or the towers fell on him.

Well, last night we saw that this was not the case. While still tragic, it makes me wonder why the f did someone feel they needed to make up a MORE heroic story than what really happened? I'm sorry, but this gets me pissed!

The sounds of the bodies falling were sickning and haunting as hell. I thought it was well done and am not sure what all the fuss was about.

I also was confused about Father Judge. The story was released that he was hit by a falling piece landing gear.

What I definitely remember is that it was reported that he died giving Last Rites (in the line of duty for a priest) and confirmed by everyone, including Rudy G.. Now, we SEE what actually happened and it makes me wonder why they felt the need to make up a story about how he died.

I thought the special was very well done. It is a much watch if for no other reason then to really honor the bravery of the firefighters that answered the dreaded call. You will not find on tape anywhere a more in depth look at true heroism.

That's why they needed to show it again. People forget way too easily. Bin Laden living to see the 6 month anniversary is 5 months and 29 days to long. Crucify them, and then it can truly be time to move on.

Thanks to Brokenjaw for the sigpic

Moss should have given the ball to his coaches to spike, or at least invited them onto the field to take part in the celebration, because they were the ones who made that score possible. But don't tell that to Randy, it would only take away from the glory he believes he deserves for being as great as he is. Click here for the whole article

I didn't see the special. Does anyone know if they are going to air it again? Also, everyone is mentioning Father Judge didn't die how they portrayed...but no one said how he did die.

Let's take a blast to the moon baby

I sit around wishing you well

How I'm craving you, yeah!

Every time I'm near you

I always wanna swallow you down

I'll be right here if ya' need me

In my life, I'll need you here, don't ask why

I'll never disappear

Why is it everyday that I feel the pain?

Let's take a trip to the stars far away

Where were you when I was down?

Staring into the dead

My pain is caused by my pleasure

My soul mate lives in your body

I can't get you out of my head

It never goes away

In my life, I'll need you here, don't ask why

I'll never disappear

In your eyes you can bid me farewell

But don't ever try to understand the situation

Why is it everyday that I feel the pain?

CBS won Sunday night with its 9-11 terror special pulling a 24.0 rating/34 share in the national overnights -- and a 51 share in New York City.

av8er,

They never showed how he died. They just stumbled upon him inside Tower 1 only seconds after Tower 2 had collapsted.

It was just mass chaos. All the firefighters were sitting in the lobby of Tower 1 setting up the command post, when you heard this weird noise, and a look of pure dread came accross the face of the fire chief. Immediately, everyone bolted bolted out of the lobby and ran further into the building. They started to run up the escalators, but by that time, the building was just pure darkness and ash.

They couldn't move becuas no one could see anything. So the cameraguy turned on the light on his camera and they were using that to get around. Again, within 30 seconds of Tower 2 collapsing, they literally tripped over the priest.

He wasn't with them before the tower collapsed, and there wasn't anyone with him when they found his body. He was just there. They didn't explain what he was doing or how he got there.

But was definately not administering last rights becuase they found his body seconds after the tower went down and there was no one else around him.

The documentary was very well done. I thought the depiction of the people on the street was incredible. By showing the same horrified response from so many different ethnicities, it really showed that people who live in America of every race and heritage are Americans.

I saw the unedited video footage (our fire house got a bootleg copy of it.), actually Seeing the bodies hit the ground..VERY DISTURBING.
I spent the entire day at the triage center at Ellis Island waiting for for the ferrys to bring injured to be treated. I Knew it was bad when they started bringing refrigeration trucks in to the site that things were bad. I remember sitting there and one of the E.M.T. s said "Hey they're bringing us Coke an Pizza!" I just shook my head and told the guy that he was an F-ing idiot and that they were going to turn the island into a field morgue.
