Why do you care about post counts? Why do you care if others don't like your Opinions? Instead of worrying about everyone else, Start worring about yourself.

It is my opinion that the minute that someone reverts to a "My status sucks so nobody like me" or a "Post Counts Suck" arguement, they are trying to hard. You just can't come in here gay as a cricket...oh sorry wrong show. I mean you can't expect to come in here and with one or two posts and earn everyone's respect and liking.
If you keep pushing the I'm always right so stop making fun of me, or stop saying i'm wrong, you'll get a quick ticket out of here.

We hear stories that about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?

I've said elsewhere (can't remember where or to whom) that keeping a tally of members posts seems irrelevant and may cause more harm than good, but that's neither here nor there. Presently, I'm more inclined to think that post counts aren't a problem on the board. If somebody is moronic enough to say, "hey, you only have 10 posts and I have 2,000, therefore, your opinion is "mute," they're obviously a dork, and should be made aware of their dorkiness, and, 'round these parts, I can guarantee they will be (holy run-on Batman!). As well-informed posters, I believe we can handle any problems that may arise caused by members who think a large post count actually means anything to people here. It's what you say, not how many times you say it before you actually get your point across.

Pickle puffer - to put in laymen's terms that even Alkey and Barch can understand -

It's the quality of the posts that count, not the quantity. it's better to have 100 quality posts than 1000 assanine posts that do nothing but piss people off and make yourself look like an asshole.

There was a time when people were lamented for having low post counts but those days are long gone when the nicey-nice policy took affect. Consider yourself lucky you didn't sign up in the days of being gang-banged for posting an opinion without having triple digit post counts by your name.

As for a majority of the people around here with high post counts, myself included, those counts came from posting in some very addictive 'chat' type threads (i.e. - Pass the time, questions, Day in the Life,etc...). There were some people :;coughcoughAlkeycoughcough:: who used those threads to pad their counts because the didn't want to deal with "you're new, you're scum". I personally don't judge people on post counts. If you're scum, I'll you're scum if you have 10 or 1000 posts.


As I look out my window watching the tornadoes and hurricanes pass,
and rain falls from the top of skyscrapers,
I warm food in my microwave as it ZAPS the tomatoes warm
The tomatoes are effable, wouldn't you say?
