And before anybody bashes me for 'over posting' or 'post whoring', I do it because I want this tournament to be a success. It's for the board. | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | well i must say frumpy well laid out and looks like all the bases are covered. One thing though that has been bought up and i know this will edfinetly be a problem if we don't figure it out beforehand. Where do we go after the pool tourney? Probably we'll split off in two groups. Those who wanna hang and eat and talk and those who wanna go on drinking and bar hoppin. Now at all the parties we have had the after party, party has always been a hassle. It is much better to plan it out ahead of time. The tourney will be over say 7 or 7:30 and that is too early to just split. MashedPotatoHead came up with a suggestion of a nice steak house that frumpy knows of. Plus for those who wanna go to a bar so be it. | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Dec. 00 | My recommendation would be: - go to Arthurs Steak House for a bite to eat. (Upstairs room is the best for this roudy crowd). We'll probably have to wait at the bar in the back for a table. Address: Washington Avenue and 4th street (big black and white building, across from Summit Bank) - After Arthurs, there are several bars and clubs that can be chosen from (all of them are 21+) 1. Whiskey Bar - decent bands, relevatively cheap booze (A block south of Arthurs) 2. The Black Bear - nice little bar with music on occasion. Bouncers are not friendly. ID is must. 21+ strictly. (same block as Arthurs) 3. Cadillac Bar - club music, live bands, nice place, kinda crowded after 10. (by the path station) 4. Any of the small dive bars East and west of Washington avenue. I'd say the wine and cheese place on 2nd and Washington but I don't think we're a 'wine and cheese' crowd. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | didn't want to start a new thread for this, so, anyone going from queens or long island wanna meet up first or car pool. i was planning to take the bus from port authority so i thought we could try to arrange a meeting point, i think there's a discount if you buy multiple tickets. (i know, it's only like 10 cents a ticket or something, but i'm poor) i'd offer to drive but i only have one extra seat, and the possibility of squeezing one or two small people lying down in the back, but if any kind peeps wanna give me a ride, that would be super cool too. ok, i think that's all, email me if you wanna do any of the above :) It's always funny until someone gets hurt, and then it's just hilarious!!! -- FNM An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come. --Victor Hugo crxgirl@opieanthony.co | ||||
