| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 01  | I honestly don't care about whether "under God" is included in the pledge or not, simply because through 12 years of schooling, I never once uttered those two words during recitation. In the school district where I spent most of my "learning years," the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance was always optional. I chose to participate, but always paused after "one nation," waited a couple beats for everyone else to say "under God," and then picked it up again at "indivisible." Why dont we just rewrite the Constitution since it mentions by Creator and lets redo our entire monetary system since it says in God We trust. I am sure these fucknuts use the Constitution to their advantage when they need it and they use our national currency. If you dont want to say God, don't say it, but don't ban it from others who would want to. You live in this country, you love living in this country, say the goddamn pledge of allegiance, stand up when it is said, and if you do not believe in a god, just don't say under god. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | let take the pre-1954 version of the pledge and use it in our schools. Lets ALSO TEACH STUDENTS WHAT IT MEANS!!!! God damn, for 6 years (didn't do it in middle or high school) we recited that thing, and not once were we told why, or what the words meant. It was the first poetry we were taught, and all we did was mimmick what we heard, no feeling, no reason as to why we said it. I for one don't see why Under God was added, and it should not be a problem to take it out. But thats just my opinion, and I am not going to force it upon you if you don't like it. good post plastic, a little overly dramatic, but well said.  | ||||

God is whatever any religion believes him to be. If God is a pet rock in your religion than you can worship a pet rock.
