My boss is a body builder but he's into a boxing kick which is really scary because he wants me to be his sparring partner. Just wondering what you're diet consists of: "these grits are off the hook yo!"

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01 | Body for life is an aweseom program to get people off couch and start a healthly lifestyle, BUT! its a money making machine for EAS supplements and Bill Phillips is a genius. In my humble opinion, you should just go get a personal trainer. Its the best way to get results. I used to be 220 lbs of fat when i was a sr. in high school, 1/2 way through sr. year i went to my trainer, and got down to 160 lbs, now i've built up to 185, keeping lean (7-8% bodyfat). GO SEE A TRAINER: spend ur money on that instead of supplements! PS. Other than food (& whey protein), creatine is the only supplement i take. "these grits are off the hook yo!"

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Bill Philips is a genious all right, but not a fitness/nutrition one. Hes a marketing genious. If you believe all the b-4 and after bullshit in the EAS ads he produces, that is. Before and after shots of bodybuilders, who are normally lean during contest season, put on 40 pounds of fat or more in the off season for the b-4 shot. His books and mags (muscle media) all appear to be non-biased but actually only push his EAS products. Its a SCAM ladies and gentleman. However, he does explain the ideas behind getting lean and ripped in his book.. but read it with a grain of salt... he is selling something! Also his products (e.g. myoplex) are half decent. He tries to sell alot of scientifically unproven extras in his products and charges a premium. If you really want to learn to get in shape.. get a personal trainer who looks like someone you want to look like! Make sure that person is certified (ACE et.al.) so you learn technique and dont f- yourself up. If he/she's been there... and can show you the path. Similarly, muscle and fitness magazine is an excellent resource for techniques and diet. Definitely pick up a copy!

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | i never thought i'd find myself agreening with a weinie but i do :) . bill phillips is definately a marketing genious. i used phosphagen until i heard a report that creatine causes cancer..... all those muscleheads either juice or use tons of supplements. as much as i would love to be a muclehead i dont want cancer.... so i think ill stick to the natural work out without supplements. and as far as the unscientific proof, i believe that shit too... Lord knows what they're feeding us in these supplements. formerly adopted by OPAK This message was edited by fatty chopped meat on 3-26-01 @ 3:22 PM

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | CREATINE DOES NOT CAUSE CANCER.... Our body contains naturally produced creatine. Any red meat also contains up to several grams of it! It is an essential component for any metabolic function to take place in every cell in your body. Your body would not be able to produce ANY energy with out it. Do your research before you post!
