Saw "Blow" on Thursday-well done. I thought Ray Liotta did a great job. It was nice to see him in a different kind of role. And I ended up watching "Machine Gun Kelley" last week on AMC-in letterbox format. That movie was great, and to see it the way it was intended made it that much better.

I saw Meet the Parents and it was good. It was nothing spectacular but it kept me entertained.

My girlfriend had us rent Ms Congeniality this weekend. Wow, regular chick flicks suck but "chick flick comedies" are the most suck ass movies ever. I was just staring at my wall for the last hour of the movie and it was more entertaining than the movie. Damn what a waste of time.

Didn't want to start a new thread but last night I saw a pretty good movie called The Tailor of Panama, interesting non-Bondesque spy movie with Brosnan playing a sleazy, evil, twisted version of 007.

Anal Intruders 3 - The Deep Tunnel Project. Usualy not one for sequals, but this one was a tough one to pass up. Lots of hard pounding non-stop action. Don't forget to bring your miners hats when you see this one kiddies.

Whipped, very nice movie, funny. Office space, liked that one too. The guy from office space is also in whipped, plays a funny strange character.
I saw Gridlocked again too, old movie but very nice.

Have you ever had that typical Dutch feeling...."Have I That???"

I saw Memento this past week, too, for the second time.
God damn, if you love feeling like your head was
smashed VERY hard with a nerf hammer, go see it. It's
one of those movies that you KNOW is going to blow you
away at the end, so you prepare for it. But nothing
prepares you for the end. You can't even begin to make
guesses about what is going to (or has happened) until
the middle of it. The suspense is almost
squirm-inducing. You may even get agitated waiting
for the next tidbit of information. Oh, and if you are of a
higher mind and have read Hamlet, rent Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern are Dead. Great flick, although a bit
weird.

I finally got around to seeing Shrek this weekend. Lots of insidejokes, and IMO, not really for the kids, they wouldn't get half of it. Aside from the CGI being cool (which reminds me, can't wait until FF gets released), it was extremely entertaining. My mom went to see Pearl Necklace this weekend as well, and even she said it was a sap-filled love story ala Titanic. For her to knock a love-fest, its gotta be bad.

Don't flame me, but I went to go see the Animal. It was very very stupid, but actually a funny kind of stupid. There were actually some laughs in it. Adam Sandler and Norm Mcdonald make surprise appearances in it.

Pearl Necklace? Thats kinda cool that your mom watches porn....i suppose.

As for Final Fantasy, im guessing you people can sense my anticipation. I Downloaded all the previews, and they are pretty much constant rotation on my PC. Not too far off now....

Meet the Parents - This is very funny.
1st half of Half Baked - I bought a 2 pack DVD this weekend, Half Baked and American Pie Directors Cut for $25. Nice.

The Wiz had it. They also had some other combo packs too, but nothing too great.

I took my stepson to see "The Animal" and it sucked, so we snuck into another theater to watch "What's the worst that could happen" and that was funny enough for both of them. I got my money's worth.

Not to stray too much off the topic, but has anyone noticed a trend of the theater employees checking your stubs before you go into the theater? They used to do this only for the big movies on a first-release weekend or something, but my UA theater has been doing it for EVERY damn movie all the time! So much for the old days of getting more bang for your buck - its like a goddamn concert now!

OK, back to your reularly scheduled independant movie critiques.
