| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | Well i have to agree with sean on this one a 100%. I personally do not give a shit if Up comes back or not, because he didn't care to keep in touch with his friends. I will tell you this much here is a little history from someone who has been around for a while and someone who considered Upuauat a close friend. When i came to this board back when being a mod was not a big deal what so ever. I don't even think mods knew the power they had. This was before the time when only mods could change people's status's also. Being a mod was not looked upon as a position of power. Upuauat was a really cool motherfucker and he was the 1st person i ever met from this board in person. This was before he was a mod and just a doofy poster like us all. I was not a sick fuck when i first joined and beyond the re-written history of Upuauat he was a doofy guy like we all were. The turning point came when O&A talked about the bang party on 10/05/00 a week after the sleepy, FB, & Mark bang party call when FB sold out spaz for teen week invite. We all called in and defended the board then Up called in right after me and said that O&A created the conflict between newbies and vets. Anthony called for Up's banishment, then IP sent in an instant feedback that said "sorry ant he stays". This was the beggining of His transformation from being himself to a self created character, a full fledged cartoon like charcter. He was not the cool guy i met and talked too anymore. Up always bashed the ESPN zone party and said it was a cluster f. But i saw how much fun he had this is also a prime example of his re-writing of historical fact to fit his character. As soon as psycho mark showed up, Upuauat was at his side constantly. Not to say thats a bad thing but the fact is that he enjoyed himself immensly. Soon after Up was made a moderator of the board. Up created the strike system which is still in use to this day, BUT the only difference is we use it more like a parody today. Up would throw out three strikes faster than pedro martinez facing a little league club of blind kids. He was quick on the draw because he usually knew he was bashing someone for no reason just to feed his need or quota of bashing for the day i dunno? He would post a long winded reply that usually had nothing to do with the post. He only did to make himself look more intelligent with his use of big words. Then when things got to be too much he would ban you. Back to what i said before the mod position was not looked upon as a position of power in the slightest sense. Yeah mods would ban people sporadically and maybe change a status or two. But Upuaut taught people to fear mods an auora that we have been trying to shake for months even after he left. He taught people that the mods were to be feared and that you had to be afraid to look at them crooked in fear of being banned for the slightest whim. Whenever i post and you disagree i will talk it out with you. This was not the case with Up he had no room for people who would not follow him. People have also mentioned the Italian Princess subject. UP always defended her in saying that she saved him but lets be reasonable it was a nice thing to do but we all know if Ant was serious which he was not, that froy would have banned UP. UP was always trying to get into the good graces of IP and he finally did then their little breakthru and la woman skit was amusing to watch. All in all UP was a cool guy, who let his character name get to his head. He changed bought the board down with his gestapo tactics like we were blind cattle following his every whimsical posting. I always tried to talk with him and to maintain a friendship cause i knew him for who he really was. Unfortunatly he never changed back and now he is gone. If he considered our friendship so lightly well fuck you then. Crybaby Howie was always the sick fuck who i loved to see on the board. Him and I never talked much but i have no beef with him and i always liked him. There is so much more to the whole UP thing but he really bought the board down and we are getting over it. If you look at any political plannings they usually do not have any reprocutions until a while later. Do not think the problems we have now are not mostly caused by his auora that he had and left. I personally never had a problem with him, but, Sean hit the nail on the head, he followed IP around as if he was permanently attached to her ass. I watched many a thread where the two of them would basically have a chat together, ignoring others who dared to post in their threads. IP was cool with me, she changed my status to what it is today. (except for the c-blocking part, that person still remains anonymous) ;) Anyway, thanks for this Sean, it gives us members a chance to really let others know how we felt about that whole cluster F! I don't know any of you personally, and there will always be conflicts (see Kid's Fight Club thread), but, all in all, this has been a much better place to post since their departure. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | when i first registered to the board, i would see the bashings that Upu would give to newbies, and honestly i would be a little afraid to post in certain instances. i think the board has been a much nicer place since he left and i'm glad to see that others have the same opinion. also, like everybody else, i'm pleased to see the return of CBH. although he left a little after i registered, theres nothing but good things said about him and i'm happy he's back. Some people had been saying for a LOOOOOOOONG time how wrong and how unfair Up and IP were, yet nothing was done. Now that they are long gone, people are saying how wrong that whole mess was? i'm just curious about that--even though i think it is an unanswerable question. anyhow, i am glad, glad, glad they are gone. But you see, the night he was here, my ex had some serious shit going down and everyone knew. The next day, he never even asked me how things were, he asked me about why I didn't delete a thread about him! Also, when me and him went at it, it was usually deleted by him! | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Oct. 00 | Gee Sean, I don't know, he looked exactly like I expected him to look...LMMFAOROTFSIMUARIOCBHMTL (Laughing my motherfucking ass off rolling on the floor, shitting in my underwear and rubbing it into CBH's Mom's Tuna Locker) But, seriously, having not MET Upuauat until just prior to his departure, I still never took him too seriously. I remember my first run-in with him was a thread where he was fighting with JustJon, and not knowing anything, I stated that I thought he was pretentious. Amazingly, I was not banned and he actually apologized to me. But, as I posted more and more, I saw that people would avoid threads where they had previously posted due, predominantly, to fear of reprisal. Finally, as has been pointed out, he became a caricature of himself and needed to be more and more of what he created. He latched onto IP and for reasons that I cannot fathom, found his escape from the pressures of his self-created image, in leaving with IP. Believe me, I was comfortable posting near or in opposition to Upuauat, but I know I was in a select handful. It even became fun to taunt him and I thought for a while that he would lighten up. Alas, that never happened, and his pretextual reason for finally severing ties with the Board do not fly with me. I don't think he could live with the self-image he created. As I saw, in person, he was nothing like the demon he portrayed himself to be. As for the shit he pulled on Sean, well, that just demonstrates in a nutshell how concerned he was with him. I know that the rest of us actually asked Sean if the "situation" was resolved satisfactorily. Jeff was just concerned about being bashed. I began to fear talking to either CBH or IP. The times that I had to talk to a mod through IMs, I would spend five minutes just thinking of a sentence that wouldn't send me on the way to board hell. God forbid I had to send Upu a message, then I would have to analyze each word, making sure I wasn't digging myself a grave. Time passed, Upu left, and I eventually lost the notion that mods were out to get us. Right now, I regularly talk with quite a few of the mods. I think the "Upu syndrome" has passed over for the most part.  See My Sig Pics! There was no reason for a bunch of us to cringe everytime we posted because we didnt know if up was in his "mood" that day. Talk about taking out your pent up anger on the board...boy oh boy "What are we going to do about this? I don't know anyone personally aobut those that are being spoken of, just on the board, & I never interacted with their posts, but I do remember certain people being hard-asses and abusing the power they had- very unprofesional . Very tough time indeed. But all in all the Board is a better place w/ out those people. "Kyle, I'm just a stupid piece of crap..."
