Here's a topic I was thinking about after looking over my extensive collection of horror movies, plus I'm in a "demented" mood right now-

What's the best, goriest, and/or funniest murder scene from a horror movie?

I have plenty of favorites, but 2 that always stick out in my mind are:

-The scene from Friday the 13th Part 3 (I think that's it) when Jason picks up the chick in the sleeping bag and bashes her into a tree

-Nightmare on Elm Street 3--Freddy turns into the puppetmaster using some guy's muscles and tendons, and then cuts the "strings" amking the kid fall from the hospital window (that movie's got lots of good ones though)

I stand alone on the cliffs of the world,
no-one ever tends to me.
Sitting alone covered in breeze.
Some things are so my mind can breathe.

The waiting is hard, fuckin' takes so long.
Draped in sun, hands in sand.
Earth acid cleanses me.
It cleanses me clean, but the world it never comes(Kyuss, Space Cadet)

For gory/funny scenes in horror movies you have to look to Evil Dead II. Other great ones in same vein- Peter Jackson's Bad Taste and Dead Alive ("I kick ass in the name of the lord!")

Ikeaboy, Evil Dead 2 didn't have the "Tree Bitch" like the first one did, though LOL

Freddy 3was cool because the kids got magic powers and one of the nutsos wants to be a wizard who can walk and Freddy made short work of him. Another great Freddy death was turning the broad into a bug in 4(?). Funny freddy scene- baby Freddy running throughout the hospital in 5

Tequila- the Jason you're talking about is Jason Goes to Hell.

Funniest murder scene though the movie sucked I think we all had a chuckle when Amanda Demter got hit by a bus in Final Destination

I don't know if anyone has ever heard of this one let alone seen it but when I was in HS I worked at a mom and pop video store and there was a movie there called Buried Alive. I think there were 2 movies with the same title and if I remember correctly this one was made in England. It was a horrible movie and the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. It was the closest I have ever come to puking from a movie and I couldn't even watch the entire movie. Just a couple of scenes I remember are: And if you are "easily" nauseated do not read!!!! Dont want anyone getting sick!
A guys girlfriend dies so he steals her body and pumps her brain out of her nose and then tries to perserve her. Then goes on a killing spree. He chops one up and grinds her into his oatmeal and then they show him eating it and then puking. Peels some girls fingernails off with..oh never mind Im starting to gag.

Tsk Tsk Tsk.. I'm disappointed...
I see quality, I see camp, but gore?
Let's be honest, the Evil deads had Tankers of blood, but were only minimal on gore...
Buried Alive? maybe...
I have to check Ed's link when I get home... but For all time out and out extreme gore with a nice touch of camp...
Dead Alive

Most gore EVER in one scene...
Hero's uncle confiscates Hero's house for HUGE party (40+ guests), w/o knowing hero's not quite dead mother and a few other zombies are sedated in basement... these rotiing folks are accidently juiced up on poison which makes them REALLY nasty and they end up turning all the partygoers into zombies...
All partygoers are gathered in main hall when hero enters carrying his LAWNMOWER (use your imaginations.. they show it!!!)
And it contains perhaps two of the greatest one liners ever, both from the priest who sees some zombies attacking our hero:
1"Stay back son, this calls for Divine Intervention!!" He proceeds to Kung-fu their zombie butts and throws out: 2 "I kick ass for the Lord!!"

How can you top that?? LMMFYBO,PTB,TLTOA!!!!!

I remember watching some B horror movie when the bad guy ripped off some dudes arms then beat him to death with them. I don't know why, but I find that hysterical

You want gore Mag? How bout the Faces of Death series...that's pretty damn gory (it's been so long since I've seen them I can't even remember a particular one, although you sick mother-effers probably will)

Another funny scene: I can't remember the movie, but it was a bunch of stories w/in one movie...an old lady is washing her ugly-ass poodle and to dry it off she puts it in the microwave (you know where this one's going), the timer rings, she opens the door, and the poodle EXPLODES all over her!

What about "Resevoir Dogs"...
Mr. Blond turns on the radio and the tune "Stuck in the middle with you is playing"..procedes to cut the guy's ear off. then holding the ear, he speaks into it..."Hello,...Can you hear me?"

That to me was a great fucking funny scene.

That's just plain funny Barry.

Faces of Death wasn't that gory, it was just shocking because it was all real.
Another funny ass horry scene is from Creepshow 2. The "Thanks for the ride lady!" When we saw that movie, we were laughing so loud, that people in the theatre had to tell us to keep quiet. That was some funnie ass shit.

Spit, trust me, I've seen them.. with the possible exception of 6 (for which you were given a certificate if you stayed in the theater till the end) the fake scenes were obviously so, and the real ones were poorly shot.
And Maynard.. what about the pudding scene in the unedited version (note, if you go to rent Dead Alive make SURE you get the unedited version, the edited sucks).. I ALWAYS gag in that scene..
Oh and to help people know what kind of sick F's made this movie.. Ever hear of "Meet the Feebles"??? to sum it up.. Pornographic Muppets on crack (Gonzostyle would love it lol).. made by the same people...

Alright I have to throw my tops in this one. For the most gore you cant beat campy flicks like"Pieces" where the guy chops different women up with a chainsaw and makes a superwoman that winds up killing him in the end. 2nd Nomination would have to be "HellRaiser 1 &2 " for gore and grossout factor. The whole scene in 1 where Uncle Frank is ressurected and in 2 when the crazy guy in the assylum is clawing the maggots off of his skin with a straight edged razor is priceless. Not to mention when they all come into contact with the puzzle box and are ripped apart by fishhooks is completely cool. But my most memorable movie on a whole is "Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 3" I mean face it any movie that opens with a guy getting his head sawed in half by Leatherface weilding a chainsaw and finishes with Grandpa smacking someone over the head with a hammer is just plain cool.

That is, without a doubt, one of the funniest murder scenes that I have ever watched. I remember the first time I saw that, my friends and I almost died laughing. That's definately one of those scenes that you can keep rewinding to about 20 times before it gets old.

Don't know if it's the movie your thinking of but the arm ripping scene also occurred in the Toxic Avenger.

I don't know how this fares in the horror genre, but the scene in Robocop when the guy who got dowsed in toxic waste gets hit by the car is so twisted and sick I love it. It may not be a horror movie but it was gory.

There's a B-movie. I think it was called "Town of a thousand maniacs" or something like that. It's about a murderous cult in a small town. In one scene, a woman runs away from the cult and gets caught in a LUMBER MILL. The three guys rape her, then drag her to a tree and tie her to it half naked. Then they turn on the machine and you realize it's one of those tree splitting buzzsaw scenes like out of an old Hannah Barbara cartoon. The "hero" of the story is hiding behind a building too scared shitless to do anything as the screaming woman is split in half CROTCH FIRST while the three cult members are laughing and getting splattered with blood. Sick scene.

Arthur smiled at him wanly and shrugged again. He turned and smiled wanly at the rest of the pub just in case any of them had heard what was going on. None of them had, and none of them could understand what he was smiling at them for.

Faces of Death series...many of those so-called "real" things were staged. When you're about 13, it looks like the real thing. I've read much about them since, and they are plain out FAKE. They were simply re-enactments.

Evil Dead 2...love the laughing furniture followed by the head that falls in his lap. Evil Dead 2 is my fave horror flick.

Dead Alive, when the intestine innards of a zombie still is trying to kill the main character for like over 20 minutes. Freakin sick, but freakin hilarious.

"Oh a false clock tries to tick out my time -
To disgrace, distract, and bother me.
And the dirt of gossip blows into my face,
And the dust of rumors covers me.
But if the arrow is straight -
And the point is slick,
It can pierce through dust no matter how thick.
So I'll make my stand
And remain as I am
And bid farewell and not give a damn."
