| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01  | What form of death are you most extremely fearful of? (not including disease or outrageous tortures) Sure, I am afraid of death in general as are most people, but if I had to pick one, which scared me the most, I'd have to say being Trapped Under Ice. Freezing, suffocating, struggling, panic, the notion of being so close to life but even closer to death. Damn I freak just thinking about it. | ||||

I don't care how it happens, I just don't want it to happen. I am looking forward to the day where we can have actually full body and brain transplants. I would not mind having a frankenstein neck line and a zombieish way about me if it saved me from taking my last breath and never opening my eyes again. Just absolutely and totally isolated, and then nothingness... not to say I want to go out in a sea of people either (I'm with NJ-- the sooner we get to achieve immortality, the better), but if I have to go, I would at least want someone there to acknowledge my passing. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | A few years back here in Jersey, some girl was at a spa with her friends and they were in a hot tub. They were all about to get out, and she said to wait because she wanted to wet her hair and put it back before she got out. So she put her head under the water and it got caught somehow in the drain at the bottom. Her friends saw her stuggling to get her head above water, but they were unable to help and she drowned. To me, that seems like the worst way to go. It's one thing to drown, it's another to be able to reach up your hand and have it be out of the water, but not be able to bring up your head 6 inches so you can breathe. It's not really in the same vein, but I'd also hate to die with regrets. I'm so afraid I will be lying on my deathbed wishing I had done so much more with my life, wishing I had to guts to do what I wanted to do, instead of what was safe. | Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00 | I'd hate the way to go like my gradma did, thats in the hospital waiting for surgery and the doctor tells you that you wont make it to the operation so you lay there waiting any secound, could last days or ten minutes u dont know. The trapped under the ice thing scares the hell out of me (even though we have no snow or any cold in darwin australia) but thinking aboot pounding the ice and your hitting it with all your might and it wont break. Mainly cos you have not as much impact under water so thats whats makes it scary. | ||||

I'm afraid of DYING I'd say several ways to go are equally bad, drowning, fire, being eaten alive, electrocution, bleeding out.. I think I am equally afraid of having full or partial body paralysus. Compared to drowning, where probably, once you give in and just stop breathing & begin dying, it's not the worst way. Let's face it folks, dying just sucks. Even in your sleep, peacefully, in bed with the one you love, after living a rich, full existence. No gettin' around it, though---sigh. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | That's a tough one... Physically, I'm gonna guess dying of liver disease or diabetes. You can't cure either but you can get a liver transplant if you're lucky. Dying alone though is the worst. It's just you and noone will find your carcass until they notice that you've been gone for awhile.
