She was admired for the way she looked- shameful in and of itself. And what's the point of coming back if you can't fool around with the life? Reading books is the way you relive their life. but if you were acutally to come back and live what they did, I think you should be allowed to fix a little something to make it more interesting. Lastly, Cleopatra wasn't beautiful. In fact, she looked more like a man than a woman. It was her personality and power than wooed the likes of Caesar and Antony. Some have already been mentioned, like Leonardo da Vinci, a man who was brilliant, and excelled in most anything he did. Julius Caesar who was a statesman centuries ahead of his time. Ghengis Kahn, who took an army of tribesmen on horseback and pretty much conquered all of the known world at the time. But someone who deserves mention is Joan of Arc. To be able to have such strong beliefs in something that it drives you to accomplish great feats. To trust unquestionably your devotion and to follow your heart. To feel the awesome power of true faith and to die knowing in your heart that you did the right thing. I am a cynic, and while spiritual, I am not religious. I do not profess to believe the same things that Joan did, rather, I want to know what it feels like to have such strong faith.  Still one spot open! You get to be at peace with the world as a preacher in your young life. Then you get bored with religion and go on to be (in my opinion) the funniest, most twisted, mother-f'er to ever to ever live. Along the way you do tons of drugs, drink more alcohol than both the Bush twins and Kitty Dukakis combined, and cohort with actresses, porn stars, strippers, and the like....all while hanging with rock stars and never worrying about how poorly you look or dress. He did have an effect upon the German citizens, bringing them up out of a post war depression that they went through. However, he quickly turned that support into hatred of foreigners and Jews, who he tried to scapegoat for Germany's problems as a whole. I am not a German historian, but I would say that you wouldn't have to kill yourself until around the beginning of the Blitzkreig. Invading Austria and Czecholsovakia is okay, because there wasn't really any death involved there and it heightened Germany's spirit. I would say anytime between then and the end of the Polish invasion could suffice. I don't know how many of Hitler's top subordinates believed in the extermination of the Jewish people, but I can't think it was that many. As a footnote, I'm glad this board doesn't have any true southerners on it. They'd be all over this thread with mentions of Generals Lee, Longstreet, Pickett, Jackson, Stuart, A.P. Hill, D.H.
