| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Dec. 00  | Before the other board went down I asked about Zyban. People responded. Thank You. I don't remember who wrote what. Sorry. But those that did wanted an update. Here's my update on Zyban. Some of you are saying: Do you think we care about your life? DILLON. Whatever. To you I say: Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Fuck you, I don't care what you think. Now go away. Today is Day 8 on it. Side effects are interesting to say the least. Day 1 & 2 - drowsy, disoriented Day 3 - drowsy gone. Cigs start to taste funny Day 4 - Cigs taste like smoking PVC. Strange dreams start. Attitude starts to change. (ya might have noticed a few nicey-nice grumpy threads). Alternates with moodiness. Mrs. Grumpy is not happy. Day 5 - Quit cigs. went on Nic Inhaler. What a rush. A whole cig in on puff. Whhhhhooooaa! Nightmares Start. Day 6-7 - so far so good with the inhaler. Takes the nic fits away. Day 8 - Nightmares still continue. Sleep is restless. Gaining some weight. Put on 3 pounds so far. Tried a cig this morning. Burnt my throat and tasted like crap. That's it for now. I'll add as I go along.  Proud staller of Gary Coleman Have you seen the dash button? | ||||

Even if it didn't, its worth it if I can get this fucking monkey off my back. My doc and I had an interesting talk about it. Also, You spend now but save later. Do the math. $5 X 365 Days = $1825. | Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00 | Grumpy, I quit using Zyban with the patch,(After 15 years) and it worked real good for me.(Since september) However, its important that people know that Zyban isn't for everyone. A good friend of mine wound up in the hospital for 3 days after having an allergic reaction to it (Hives/Couldn't Breathe). And the vivid dreams are a very common side effect. The bottom line: only use these products if/when a doctor indicates they are appropriate. (I would even include the non prescription items in that). The patch by the way works real good, it's just hard to keep the goddamn thing lit! J/K. The patch works well. It's the "behavior" that is hard to change.By the way, did I read that you are using the inhaler and smoking? If so, then save your money, cause you'll need it to bury yourself after you die from the cardiac arrest that will result from the nicotine O/D. And thats no kidding. Hope it works out. Gave me the worst fucking rashes. Cold turkey - nope. it's like you said, it's the habit. - with my coffee - after a meal - in a bar Note to Tequila: Thanks deek. | Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 01 | I guess the last board died a day early I wrote about Zyban Grumpy I haven't smoked since thursday and i was over 2 packs a day BUT.................. The key is to smoke till like the 10th day!!! You quit too soon that's bad and the inhaler is useless since you are quitting I paid $106 here with no insurance(since im rich) I suggest you start to smoke for a few more days and just take the loss on the inhaler I've had a few urges and i'm a heavy gambler , I can't believe i stopped , but the shit works do it right if not too late and GOOD LUCK!!! ;) | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01 | I've been smoking for 5 years I've tried to quit several times...cold turkey every time...the longest I've gone is 6 weeks...too much stress in my life to quit...I figure I'm gonna die anyway why not be happy when I go then stressed out and ready to kill...I do wanna quit for heath reasons but it's hard and people I hang out with don't seem to understand that and expect me to put down a cig one day and never pick one up again...it's frustrating.
