Craig is an asshole IMHO--I've heard him basically stab Sid in the back a bunch of times calling him a racist druggie. Craig also is about the world's biggest hypocrite--he hates "front runnin' weasel loser" fans who jump on bandwagons--well, he had claimed to be a Rangers fan for the longest time then all of a sudden, oh the Devils are doing good he starts to root for them. I used to listen everyday until Sid left, now they are not even really Sports Guys. I just don't like Craig. M-O-O-N that spells O&A Rule. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Allow me to shed a little light on Craig Carton. I used to listen to him alot when he was on WIP in Philly. He was actually very good back then. He got a ton of crappy shifts, partly because WIP has very good ratings in Philly, their morning show is extremely popular, their other daytime shows are also well established. The other big reason he was somewhat "blaklisted" is that, back then, he feared no one. He was not afraid to call anyone on the carpet. He criticized Lindros, when no one else would, he had balls. Since he has come to WNEW, he has changed. I know you have all heard this a million times, but I swear this to be true, and anyone who has ever listened to WIP's morning show can verify this. Carton has completely tried to become Angelo Cataldi, who along with Al Morganti, has hosted WIP's morning show for years. The problem is, that what works great for Cataldi, makes Carton seem like an ass. The affectations to his speach that you may have noticed did not come about until Sid left are a poor imitation of Cataldi. I could go on about it for quite some time, but really, who cares? I liked the Sports Guys when it was Scott and Sid. I honestly believe that if NEW had let them go on as a team, they would have had much more success. Since Sidney left, and Carton has become a complete (to use an ever popular 80's phrase) poser, I really can't bear it anymore. I still try, but it just isn't working. We all know that the sports guys are likely on their way out, Don and Mike will probably be the new morning show, and in all probability, Ron and Fez will have the mid day shift to themselves. You guys may hate them... I know that most sports fanatics do because they actually LIKE a million facts thrown at them in the span of a minute.... I personally don't like that at all. I enjoy their ability to just casually bullshit about sports like guys around a watercooler. Hate 'em if you want, but they seem to have some semblance of a following.... Oh by the way... DON AND MIKE CANNOT MOVE TO MORNINGS. It is a violation of Howard Stern's contract. No Infinity station is allowed to put shock-genre jocks on the air against Howard.... and even though D&M are wannabes, they count. My great dislike for Craig makes the show unlistenable to for me. Either the million by 6/20 is meaningless (could be either meaningless cause they're already staying or cause they're already going) or it PROBABLY meant that the RATINGS must show one million..... and the ratings just came out.... hence June 20th is a great make-or-break date. Besides, she comes on at 9 AM, which is when most of Stern's listers are already "commited" to listening to the rest of the show. The sports dorks reached "1 Million" listeners this morning.
