Of the Following five which do you consider the best? 1. Goodfellas 2. Scarface 3. Taxi Driver 4. Godfather 5. Godfather II  take a look to the sky just before you die it's the last time you will!! | O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | Godfather 2 is the better movie but Goodfellas is more enjoyable. It's like the type of movie you go around to watch and enjoy it. Godfather 2 though is the best quality wise. Oh and Scarface is the worst of the 5. | O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00 | godfather 2. its the only movie that has flashbacks in it that are important to the current story which dont get annoying like in so many other movies that use flashback sequences. plus that and they tie up all the many loose ends very nicely. there is something very satisfying about that. :) In dealing with these changes Living with these changes Oh no, the world is a scary place Now that you've woken up the demon ... in me | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | While Goodfellas has some of the most memorable lines of any movie in pop culture, and contains some of the finest acting of Pesci's and Liotta's career, I still have to give the nod to Godfather II. It is a timeless story, it combines a whole range of human emotins, more than just greed and lust. The cinematography is outstandind as well. It is truely one of the greatest motion pictures around. It's also the difference between a fun, enjoyable movie and a really good movie. While I am NOT saying Goodfellas was by any stretch of the imagination a comedy, it has some aspects to it that are fun...they are there to relieve dramatic tension (oh...big film class phrase) but they add an aspect of levity to a rather dark tale The Godfather (I and II...let's not talk about III) doesn't rely on this as much, so it loses some of that quality that would make you plop down with a beer in front of the TV when you just turn it on halfway through. As for Gangster movies, I loved Goodfellas and it was taped in my area (my big claim to fame). I actually liked all three Godfathers but the third one was most boring...until the shooting on the stairs (trying hard not to spoil it for anyone).  | ||||
