| Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00  | I was wondering if people out there have burned access cards or emulators for their DirecTV recievers. If anyone does can they explain how they work? I have a couple questions about them. 1- If you have a burned card, do you still pay the monthly bill for the basic package? 2- What precautions do you make with a burned card? I have heard people take them out when they are not watching DirecTV. 3- Emulators- How do they work? And where do you get the software and hardware needed? 4- Has anyone had problems with their cards or emulators? Any feedback would be greatly appeciated. Thanks. I have a friend who got a card for his pc, that the satelite runs thru before going to the converter, and supposidly it is bullet-proof and works great, although I am not sure how. Look under the FU Board for my FU to myself for screwing up my card. I just am looking for people's ideas or feedback on this. Hell...I do run a "HIGHLY ILLEGAL" feed of the show....geez. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | My friend has one of these cards. I think he just bought the system had someone install it for him, I don't think it was an authorized installer, threw in th3 card and voila nude chicks 24/7. He never signed up for the service, so I don't see how the could ever catch him. He does take the card out when not watching, I'm not real sure why. This guy signed on in September 2000, do we really think he would wait this long to try and catch someone doing something illegal.  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | 1. I still pay for one receiver that doesn't have a burned card but it isn't necesary. 2. I don't take them out. With an emulator that isn't necesary. 3. An emulator is a a card reader that simulates a reciever and you put a card into there so that way directv can't hit you. Check out some of the links in the FU thread for info. 4. I've had some problems with cabling and emulator software but nothing major that I couldn't pass.
