The Mrs. and I are looking to go away THursday - Sunday, we are going to drive somewhere that isn't mad far, but is a nice place to get away too. We've already done the Jersey shore, and quite frankly we don't want to do it again. If anyone know of any good spots to get away too with relatively good pricing, and relaxing environment; please post it here and let me know some details, or post a link to the site if they have one. We sure as hell do appreciate the help guys.

Boston is a great destination. There's definately lots to do, it doesn't take too much time to get there, and the drive is half the fun. Hotels are priced fairly decent and there's a party atomsphere, especially on friday and saturday nights. I went with my boyfriend and loved it.

Long Island's east end is a really nice place to relax in. Actually the twin forks in general is nice. The south fork has all the nice beaches and clubs and stuff and the north fork has all the winery's that you can take tours of and taste test all the different wines. Corpse if you got any questions IM me at LIBIGDaddy20.

Well being a legendary fucker, you lured me in here, so what the hell.

The Poconos are relaxing, laid back, inexpensive and gives you lots of privacy. Also try the Jim Thorpe, PA area, very nice quiet mountain town and very reasonable.

Boston as Wounded said also nicey, nice. It will cost you more and not as quiet, but plenty to do. If gambling is appealing, stay away from AC and hit Foxwoods, very nice.

Enjoy!

well if you're looking for a beach/shore type place, cape cod might be a good idea. its only about an hour or so more driving than going to the shore. finding a place to stay on short notice might be hard though, but hey just an idea.

Having lived in upstate NY for 6 years, I grew fond of The Lake George area. It's about a 3 hour drive from NYC. It's not expensive and a very fun place to go. The nightlife is even good. Check out this site:

It all depends on what you want to do. If your into a B&B there are some nice ones in the Poconos. If you like camping and hiking than a day or two on the Appalaichan Trail is top notch.
A night or 2 in NYC in a nice hotel is sweet .
Even better if your into car racing and camping and want to drive 8 hours to the beautiful Kettle Morrain section of Wisconson .Next weekend at a track called Road America in Elkhart Lake Wi. , you can see the fastest race cars in the world compete on the 4 mile road course. The food , drink and international ambience are something to be experienced first hand . I'm gonna be there so if you wanna go let me know and I'll show you around.

ok, i have to places that i recommend, both about a 7-8 hour drive, but totally worth it. ist, virginia beach, it's really nice, and relatively cheap. there are also a bunch of bars and stuff in the general beach area, also not far from busch gardens. the second place is mont tremblant in qubec canada. it's little village, and also on the cheap side. but it's really out doors-y. i was there in the winter when they have skiing and winter stuff, but my friends were there over the summer, and they have biking, and hiking, and nature stiff. but it's really nice there.
if you want more info on both, im me at ainlimusag.

If you are into gambling and dont want the whole atlantic city thing, you can do foxwoods or mohegan sun.they are both near mystic seaport, so you can do both, and even take a half hour drive from there to newport beach rhode island.
