Almost makes me regret turning from the Mac world three and a half years ago.

It should be:

If you have a Mac, consider it.

If you have a PC, totally forget about it.

Why not a Creative Nomad Jukebox? Comes in 6, 20, 30 and 40 GIG versions.

Amen to that! My friend bought one last month, and he goes through batteries like crazy. He uses rechargeable batteries and he said he keeps a spare set on him all the time. Its just as big (if not bigger) than my CD player - not worth the hassle.

I'll get an I-Pod once there is an "official" software that I can use on the PC - betas always scare me. Right now cash is limited, so I'll stick to burning MP3's on cd's and playing them on my player - I can fit tons of music that way, and it never skips, so I've got no complaints.

Ok I know this is old topic but I got my Ipod today and the thing kicks ass.I just put 1000 songs on it in 10 MIN! Thats how long it takes me to burn a cd on my god damn pc.

Looks like apple won me over. ;)

I've seen the Ipod, I just see no reason to need 10 hours of music on an MP3 player.

It takes like 10 minutes to load MP3s onto most players.

I have an Iomega Hipzip clone. It cost $100, and I just have four different 40 meg PoketClick cards that fit about 20 songs each (at 64k). That's like 4+ hours of music. It's the same size as the iPod, costs 1/4 what the iPod does, has the rechargeable batter, and doesn't need a CD like the 6 gig ones.

I think most of the MP3 players out there are just overkill.

I had an mp3 with those little annoying cards, you might as well carry a mix cd its the same thing just smaller ,and Ive lost 3 of those cards wthis has everything all in one and there is no other mp3 that you can download 1000 songs to it in 10 min usb takes like 3 hrs, apple uses firewire.

I don't know if the rest of you have heard about this:

Pretty damn funny how the press is consistantly bashing MS for software security problems, and this gets thrown on the fire... LOL

Why is it that a Mac can be modified to also run PC programs and games, but every PC I've ever seen can not altered to run Mac games and programs.

Is it a conspiracy? I guess Mac people realized that not everyone has the cash to buy two computer systems, so they made it possible to modify.

Oh yeah. Can't you just download Quicktime to put music from a PC onto an Ipod? Windows Media Player allows for transfer to MP3 players that are PC compatible, so wouldn't they want to offer a competitive product?

It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it's told.

Use all your well-learned politesse, or I'll lay your soul to waste.

Because the PC has no reason to run Mac Programs. I can't think of one game or program for Mac that wasn't available for the PC first. The PC isn't the system that is for the most part lacking support and a user base.
