I finally finished my new Tecmo site dedicated to my edited version of Tecmo for the 2001 season. This version can be downloaded and played right on your PC. This ROM is the MOST ACCURATE NES VERSION around with player attributes close to the original player rankings and not overblown rankings like some other ROMs out there. I also have a edited schedule that is as close as possible to the 2001 NFL schedule. The site has numerous secitons with Tecmo links, downloads to various versions of Tecmo, different NES emulators, Tecmo managers and other tools to edit your version and a team breakdown page for all 28 teams in my version. So check it out and enjoy! Here is the address:

There is also a page with info on my O&A replay feed. Just go to the Opie & Anthony section of the site and you can find the schedule for my feed and a link to it as well.

I am almost done working on my newest Tecmo ROM. A couple months ago I found a site that had a rom with the best teams for every franchise in the original Tecmo. I downloaded it but found it to be very inaccurate. So I decided to start my own from scratch. I picked the teams to represent on the following criteria:

1) did they win a Super Bowl or AFL/NFL championship?
2) If they won more than one, which team had the best year out of all the championship teams?
3) If the team has never won a title, which team got the deepest in the playoffs?

So here is the list of the teams in the ROM:

AFC East:
1964 Buffalo Bills
12-2 and AFL champions - First of two AFL championships for the Bills and their only championships in franchise history.

1958 Baltimore Colts
9-3 and NFL champions - Played and won "The Greatest Game Ever Played" which changed the popularity of pro football. Had a roster filled with future Hall of Famers.

1972 Miami Dolphins
14-0 and Super Bowl Champions - only undefeated team ever was led by the ferocious "No Name Defense" and a running attack that was the best the NFL had seen to that point.

1985 New England Patriots
11-5 and AFC Champions - I would have went with this years Patriots squad but I wanted to go with a older unit. This unit had a great year in '85 and had a remarkable run to the Super Bowl.

1968 New York Jets
11-3 and Super Bowl Champions - They won the Super Bowl in one of the biggest upsets in sports history after Joe Namath's famous guarantee.

AFC CENTRAL:
1988 Cincinatti Bengals
12-4 and AFC Champions - Fun team that took an all time great team to the brink in one of the most exciting Super Bowls ever.

1964 Cleveland Browns
10-3-1 and NFL Champions - I was tempted to go with one of the 50's Browns teams but decided to go with this unit for two reasons (1) Jim Brown is the best RB to play the game and (2) finding a roster for the 50's Browns was very hard to find.

1960 Houston Oilers
10-4 and AFL Champions - The first AFL Champions were led by an explosive offense that broke records that held for years.

1975 Pittsburgh Steelers
12-2 and Super Bowl Champions - The best of 4 Super Bowl teams in the Steel city.

AFC West:
1997 Denver Broncos
12-4 and Super Bowl Champions - First of 2 Super Bowl champions for Denver, this team pulled off a great upset of a strong Green Bay Packer team most expected to dominate.

1969 Kansas City Chiefs
11-3 and Super Bowl Champions - Led by a great defense and a power running game, the Chiefs was the 2nd AFL team to win the Super Bowl and make people respect the AFL for good.

1976 Oakland Raiders
13-1 and Super Bowl Champions - Maybe the best offensive line ever plowed this team to a great season and first of three Super Bowl titles.

1963 San Diego Chargers
11-3 and AFL Champions - High octane offense led the way for the Chargers only championship in team history.

1983 Seattle Seahawks
9-7 and AFC Runner Up - Suprise team in 1983 came out of nowhere to make a run at the Super Bowl. No other Seahawks team ever got as far as this team did, before they lost to the Raiders 30-14.

NFC East:
1982 Washington Redskins
8-1 and Super Bowl Champions - Strike shortened season still made this team the one who started the dynasty for the Redskins with their first of three Super Bowls.

1986 New York Giants
14-2 and Super Bowl Champions - This unit was compared to great Giant teams of the 50's but they made their claim as the best of them all with a punishing defense and efficient offense.

1980 Philadelphia Eagles
12-4 and NFC Champions - Only Eagles unit to ever make it to the Super Bowl.

1975 Saint Louis Cardinals
11-3 and NFC East Champions - Best team the Cardinals ever fielded in the modern era NFL.

1977 Dallas Cowboys
12-2 and Super Bowl Champions - Best defense the Cowboys ever had complimented a great cast of offensive stars to the 2nd Super Bowl Championship for the Cowboys.

NFC Central
1985 Chicago Bears
15-1 and Super Bowl Champions - Maybe the best defense ever put together. This team is considered one of the top 5 all time teams ever. They simply dominated.

1953 Detroit Lions
10-2 and NFL Champions - The best Lions team ever led by Bobby Layne and a strong defense that won 2 titles in the early 50's.

1966 Green Bay Packers
12-2 and NFL Champions - Probably the best out of all the Green Bay Packer championship teams. Veteran leaders knew what it took to win and they just took control of games.

1973 Minnesota Vikings
12-2 and NFC Champions - Team was led by a great defense and one of the all time best QB's in Fran Tarkenton. This was the second of four Viking teams to go to the Super Bowl and lose.

1979 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
10-6 and NFC Runner-Up - Suprise team of 1979 came out of nowhere to win the NFC Central and get to the NFC Championship vs the Rams

NFC West:
1984 San Francisco 49ers
15-1 and Super Bowl Champions - This was the best of four championship teams for the 49ers. They might not have the big names of other Super Bowl champions that you might remember, but they did it the best with a great offense and stingy defense that stopped Dan Marino when he was the ultimate weapon in the Super Bowl.

1999 Saint Louis Rams
13-3 and Super Bowl Champions - One of the best offenses ever came out of nowhere to win the Super Bowl and break offensive records left and right

1991 New Orleans Saints
11-5 and NFC West Champions - First Saints team ever to win the division with a great defense that led the way

1998 Atlanta Falcons
14-2 and NFC Champions - Only Falcons team ever to reach the Super Bowl.

So there is the run down of my latest edited ROM. I will be editing it some more and will have it up on my site soon. I also hope to finish working on my web site and complete it by the end of the month. If anyone wants a preview copy they can email me at sblueman22@aol.com. After this game is done I plan on putting together a rom with every teams best players ever. Here is the address to my site:

The new Greatest teams ROM is up and available for download finally. There were some changes to the previous run down but I can't remember what they were as far as teams because I finished the game a couple weeks ago and forgot to post about it.

Some new games on the site:

Tecmo Rose Bowl 1998 update- an updated verison of the original hacked game. This one has some edited graphics, team uniforms and more. The biggest changes are the sim code was edited so it will simulate more accuratly and the schedule was edited as well so you never play a team twice in the regular season.

Tecmo Super Bowl 2001-fast update- This is the same game as the TSB 2001 that is originally on the site but the difference is the players are faster for a tougher game.

I am working on a updated College 2001 game that will have all of the top 25 teams from the end of the year as well as a pre-season 2002 college game. Hopefully they will be up in a month or two.

There is a new game on my site. It is Tecmo NCAA 2001. I added all of the Top 25 teams in the AP poll and adjusted the sim code for all 28 teams. I seeded the teams so #1 Miami and #2 Oregon are in different conferences. Check it out today and enjoy! Here is the address:

Well after working hard on it this weekend I am happy to release my latest ROM, Tecmo 1991-Update. This ROM simulates the 1991 season accuratly. I edited the sim code for all the players and teams, edited the rosters, playbooks and uniforms where applicable. I ran numerous simulated seasons and consistently had the Redskins, Bills, Oilers, Broncos, Lions and Saints win their divisions. The wild card teams came out of this group. In the AFC the Jets, Chiefs, Raiders and Dolphins battled it out while in the NFC the Falcons, 49ers, Cowboys, Bears and Eagles were in contention. I hope you all get a chance to download and enjoy the game! Any comments are welcome. Here is a link to the site:
