But who do we blame for their actions? hmm... Maybe the FPS and violent video games that kids like to play! Lets not blame the parents or the school or even the students at Colombine. Let us blame video games. They are such an easy target or the families and these families blame the video game compaies for not being good parents because the families themselves do not care about their children. quote: Liek who hasn't? Parent1:No. How can we be responsible for our childrens actions? Don't be serious. Patent2:My son played DOOM. Lets sue the company that makes DOOM. Parent1:No that is stupid. Lets sue all the major video game companies for millions of dollars to prove to the world that we are not the ones responsible but they are. Parent2:Ok. Money good. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | Oh it's always the same garbage whenever something like a school or an office shooting takes place. Everyone will play the game of "Pass the Blame to the Next Guy" until things quiet down again, and then we will wait for the next random outbreak of violence to start the game up again. In the case of the school shootings, PARENTS are the primary people who are responsible for their children's well-being, and they are the ones who have to instill the sense of right and wrong. If they want to hide behind this stupid theory that they have to put in 12-hour workdays and they can't be there for the kids (leaving teachers and TV to pick up the slack), then maybe they should have thought about that before bringing children into this world! Ah forget it, I can't take this crap anymore... think I'll go kill some Marines in Half-Life ;)  "ARE YOU PONDERING WHAT I'M PONDERING?" | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | I definately don't blame the game. Why can't it ever be that when the kids were little they weren't taught right from wrong. The parents want the schools to teach children book work and right from wrong. Ever seen a school try to discipline a child now-a-days. The parent comes flying in saying they can't suspend them and they will sue, yada yada yada. Its crazy. You're right it is the pass the blame game. I will say this though, Quake, Doom Half-Life, name the violent game, they are not meant for children. They say right on them that they are not for children, kids shouldn't be playing them. The NRA is just a horrible organization though because they consider the 2nd amendment is more important than the 1st. But also I have to say this piece. What if we did makes guns illegal there would be a huge black market that would emerge. As for blaming video games there is only one solution. Eliminate all lawyers. It;s another fucking cop-op for being bad parents.. the cops found a sawed-off shotgun loaded in the garage of one of the kids that shot up Columbine. Where the FUCK was his parents? If I remember they were in ASPEN.. And now the parents,(of the kids killed) are suing for BILLIONS of dollars... Makes me sick to my stomach. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00 | The whole problem with parents blaming the games is THEY DONT PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THERE KIDS ARE UP TO!!! I looked up the shootings in Time magazine and funny...... you see one of the killers posing in a photo with A GUN WHEN HE WAS FIVE!!! The reason why they can blame games cos all the guy said was "Ha this shotgun looks like that one out of doom!" But what were his parents doin when he was playin the game and with this gun? As well how stupid do you think teens are? When we play games we are amaze how cool the game play is but of course lawyers think every violent game we see, we copy it. Now when have you ever seen a teenager try to do a hado-ken? (Fireball) No all lawyers care is more money so they know if they win the case they make themselves a good cold 5 million. And the parents blame the company cos they were either screwin each other or not even payin attention to there kids.

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | A great deal of the problems in this country right now can be traced to one word, Accountability. Nobody is held accountable in any serious way for their actions. I hate to agree with Dice but school shooting will not stop until some kid is turned into chopmeat for everyone to see. A 12 y/o kid who shoots up a school could not have been brought up or educated in the best way possible. The problem is that once the kid does something crazy, the parents don't want to look like assholes, the schools don't want to appear as fucked up and shitty as they really are, so they blame video games. Media whether it be Video games, movies or the internet are an easy way for parents to pass the buck and not feel any responsibility for the fact that they fucking failed in raising their kids.
