I on the other hand have demoed Xbox personally and have experienced what it can do and I know what I'm saying. See even when the Xbox hits the streets all you "Just Jons" out there still won't admit how good the Xbox is and will just bash the Xbox or MS regardless so do me a favor if you do have something bad or good to say back it up with first hand knowledge or experience don't be an "automaton" go by your own first hand experience and don't be led like the lemmings Just Jon accuses me to be. Let keep it civil on this Topic I posted this and all my topics for good and not evil. I only wanted to defend my topic I have let many posts go by in the past that either bashed Xbox or MS in general so if you take offense to this then maybe you should because I took offense to your posts and felt I needed to defend it so you just brought it on yourself. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00 | it wasnt smart of microsoft to release it right near nintendo's gamecube(3 days apart if nothings changed) because the gamecube is not only 100 dollars cheaper, and it doesnt have the driving game franchise that nintendo has to bring with it i.e zelda and starfox(but they totally r00ned starfox!) | Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | MrQuotes, I don' think either MS or Nintendo intentionally set the launch date that close together. I know MS had this date for a long time and someone correct me if I'm wrong Nintendo pushed Game Cube back at least once before setting this date. Either way I don't think it will be an issue for Xbox or Game Cube they both have a market they want to go after Nintendo wants the 12 and under crowd "the pokemon" group and Xbox as PS2 want the committed gamers out there willing to shell out money for quality systems and willing to pay the money for that quality. In the end Xbox will prevail regardless of the "player haters" when everyone sees what I have already experienced first hand the rest of the industry will be playing catch up to Xbox by then MS will be working on the next best thing. | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Aaaw, I don't know a single person who is waiting with baited breath for the GameCube. Nintendo has been so far behind the times when it comes to consoles. N64 sucked ass. Is the GC finally going to veer away from catridges??? I have N64, I love Nintendo, and N64 has a couple of really, truly great games, but that's it. The system underperforms and has blocky graphics with too pastel-y colors. I don't trust them as a franchise anymore. The major players used to be Nintendo and Sega. Now it's MS and SONY. The Xbox looks awesome, and I for one will be willing to put aside the stigma attached to Bill "Uberdork with demagogual tendencies" Gates to test-drive this bad mamma jamma. little newbie since 5-31-01 | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00 | MS has a habit of being a hype machine for sub standard products. I have more faith in the GameCube than X-box, personally. I don't go by individual opinions, but when the majority of them are sounding that way, it's a good bet. I still plan to try it out for myself, but we shall see. I still feel the PS2 is completely overhyped. There's still no killer app to make me buy one. MGS2 and FFx might get me to buy one eventually, but that's a year after launch already. Then once MS showed that it had many original titles everybody complained that it didn't have the big named games it should have. I see X-Box and PS2 going head-to-head for a while with one talking the lead after a big game then it going the other way. I think Nintendo will be in a niche market status while X-Box and PS2 go at it.
