| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00  | My new game-tweaked Mac project is a Blue and White G3. It's coming along fine, but I've got a video card problem. The B&W G3 motherboard doesn't have AGP. First question is: does nVidia (or anyone else) make any GeForce2-based PCI cards? nVidia has Mac drivers for the GF2 and GF3, but they're only for the AGP version, which brings me to... Question two: Does anyone know where I might find the ROMs for the Mac version of the GeForce2 MX? I've heard mixed results with flashing the AGP ROMs onto PCI video cards and visa-versa (usually done with 3dfx cards). I figure I might as well give it a shot with a GF2; if it doesn't work, I've got a pal with a shrink-wrapper so I can bring it back to the store (CompUSA sucks ass). Comments? I'm a full-time pistol-packin' skull-crackin' Windows-dissin' baby-kissin' Mac user. | Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Hornygoatweed23's sigpic reminded me about what I'm doing this for: Max Payne. I want it to run as smooth as possible, along with Oni and Quake III. Right now my game rig is a G4-400Mhz with 288 megs of RAM and a Voodoo5, but the mobo has only a 45Mhz bus (it's six years old). Just picked up a Hercules Prophet II 32MB (PCI, but of course) and now I'm working on finding the ROM for it. Apple uses a variation of the Prophet II in their machines, so that was my natural choice. I'd put the Voodoo5 in the G3, but then: a) I'd have no video card in the old machine, so that rules out network games with friends. b) Quake III doesn't support 3dfx cards. Oh, and now it's no longer a Blue and White G3, it's a Black and Chrome G3 (amazing what a little bit of spray-paint can do!).
