| Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01 | Diffentaly check your fans. If they all work. Your power source could be an issue, check that last. Make sure that you enough memory and hard drive space. Also, a long shot but un-install your last program you put on it then re-install it. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I don't think MS has posted a fix for memory leak yet...so the best advice I can give is to go back to 98 or up to 2000 or give linux a shot (I recommend mandrake) As for the monopoly... quote: They were, MS won because they had the better browser. Have you ever used Netscape 6.0...neither have I, never could get the fucker to install right. What Microsoft does is that they bundle enough to whet your appetite. Look at WMP, it will encode WMA at over 128 kbps, but MP3's at 64. MS knows MP3 is much more popular, so they give it sub-standard acknowledgement and force the people to go to musicmatch for a good encoder. If people want a kick ass encoder, they pay for it (or download the crack). Windows Movie Maker sucks compared to Pinnacle. I'm not saying what MS is doing is right, this is just their point of view. If you have to leave it off, you do have a heat problem, no question. 98 doesn't have the memory leak problem that ME has - and unless you're running tons of memory-chomping programs, there's no way you could crash even 98 in 20 minutes. I think that even though you don't think it is, it's probably heat. Trust the guy who has run a computer without a CPU fan just to see what it would do.  Me droogies: None. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I can run most Windows-based games fine.... some bitch about not being able to run on NT but just look for a patch or buy (or pirate) a new version/sequel. DOS games however.... yuck. Best bet would be to get a Win98 boot disk (or anything... 98, 95, DOS 6.22), get the right drivers (sound, mouse, whatever), and run it that way.
