- The imminent WWF roster split was moved back from 1/7 to likely after Royal Rumble in part because it made little sense to have a big angle splitting the wrestlers into two groups and then having them all compete in the same match at the Royal Rumble.

- The HHH appearance on MadTV in mid-December drew a 3.8 rating, tying for the highest rated episode of MadTV this season and above its average of 3.2.

- The story on the Perry Saturn-Mike Gamble incident from a few weeks ago goes like this: During the Jakked match, Gamble told Saturn that he didn't want to do the job since he had family and friends in attendance. Saturn then muscled Gamble into his finisher but Gamble refused to tap until Saturn had to really apply the move. At this point Gamble, being unable to move, tapped out.

- Backstage, Vince McMahon was furious at Gamble and ordered him thrown out of the building. Earl Hebner finally kicked him out, after the two wrestlers once again got into a mini-confrontation backstage when both suggested that they could have sent the other to the emergency room. Saturn in particular stated that if he was not reprimanded for the incident he had with Mike Bell earlier in 2001, he would have been much more physical with Gamble.

- The Pro Wrestling Torch reports that many of the Alliance wrestlers who were pulled off of TV when the WWF was victorious at Survivor Series are scheduled to return at the January 21 edition of RAW, one day after the Royal Rumble and apparently the new date for the roster split.

- William Parnell, the man accused of shooting and killing wrestler "Gentleman" Chris Adams will now not be indicted on murder charges. Parnell's defense was that the two were drinking, which led to physicality which consequently lead to him shooting Adams on basis of self-defense. The jury believed him and charges will now be dropped.

- Diana Hart's controversial book "Under the Mat" will now be pulled from bookstores.
