I know this is well in advance but i just thought id share this with all of you because it sounds pretty funny to me. Looks like the RAW on 3/4 is going to be a 1 hr match between HHH and Austin, with HHH posing for 15 minutes and Austin drinking 30 minutes worth of beers after the match. Then the last half hour should be the NWO doing surveys with the crowd. Maybe this is why the WWF is searching for writers...just for this day?? Here is the article to explain what i mean.

Many WWF Wrestlers Set To Miss 3/4 RAW
Posted By Ashish on 02.05.02

The WWF wrestlers scheduled to tour Asia from 3/1 to 3/4 will all miss the 3/4 RAW in Austin, TX. This means that the following wrestlers will not be on the 3/4 RAW: Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, The Rock, Edge, Test, The Dudley Boyz, Tajiri, Funaki, Haku, The Big Show, DDP, Kane, Billy & Chucky, The Hardy Boyz, Lita, Mighty Molly, The Hurricane, Stacy Keibler, and Kidman. The WWF will probably end up focusing the 3/4 RAW around names like Steve Austin, HHH, Stephanie, and the nWo.

Remember when the nWo just started out in the Summmer of 96, and there was a Nitro at MGM Studios, where alot of WCW's stars were in Japan, and the nWo came in and just beat up just about everybody in the trailer area.

I remember Hall and Nash kicking Marcus Bagwell's, (pre Buff days)ass, and then his gay partner Scotty Riggs. Then Nash threw Mysterio about 20 feet into a trailer. And then they beat up Arn Anderson and Chris Benoit with crowbars. And basically the whole show was WCW in shambles with all their guys knocked out.

And you know the 3/4 show is gonna suck without Haku.

so um, does this mean we can bring in mysterio for a one night only repeat of 5 years ago? nash can throw him like a dart again...it was sick as hell, but makes me laugh thinking on it now. and it looks like we may get dreamer, raven and others getting punked out by the nwo...but hey, at least they will be on tv!

and to get back on topic, sure cluster, i'll kick your ass that night, as long as we get tickets to the next area ppv...

Well considering only Jericho, Rock, Flair, Dudleys, Billy and Chuck are the only ones getting major air time, it will not be that bad.

You will have, Hall, nash, Hogan, Vince, HHH, Austin, Stephanie, Angle, Christian, Kane Undertaker, maybe HBK, he was supposed to return at the Live smackdown 3 days later, maybe Xpac comes back, Trish , Jazz, Godfather, Mr Perfect, Goldust, William Regal, Val Venis.

They still have a lot of talent for mid card. You will just see a lot of Vince and the NWO that night.

I wouldn't worry too much, Sir O. From the lineup of the WWF's Japan show (and considering the multitude of major wrestling / MMA events occurring at the same time), I doubt Vince will launch a foothold in the Land of the Rising Sun like he wants to.

Inoki, for all of his bullshit, won't stand for Vince's bastard sportz entertainment, and Baba / Misawa won't touch it either. Fuyuki is the only one who goes for Vince's style, and it's killed FMW because of it.

well, looks like the whole thing about the tour in Asia is true. So, what do you think the show will consist of? And could someone come back maybe? Im guessing HHH, Austin, and Angle will fight in a 3 way match, at least that is what i would do, and have the winner officially once and for all go to wrestlemania for the title. And im sure we'll see Maven fight Golddust again and have the Undertaker get involved. If (and a BIG IF) the writers can figure this out, we have the possibility of a really good show tomorrow.

Well, Se7en, the WWF event in Japan on Friday was termed a success and all the Japs (I go to Hulk Hogan's school of PC) were said to be totally "Americanized" and knew the storylines and chanted, so maybe the WWF does have the door open to get a foothold in Japan. I even read a rumor that the guy who was the Great Muta (I don't care what his name is in Japan, so don't tell me), and his organization (or the organization he works for, whichever one it is) were talking about an "inter-promotion show" the next time they come to Japan. And the show was so well-recieved by the fans in attendance (judging from responses on wrestling sites that is, so that way you don't have a heart attack and say I'm making claims about a show I didn't see), there WILL BE a next show!

But here is the line I read by more than one site that I smiled at because I know all the Japanese wrestling fan geeks will cry about it:

"The Rock was said to have gotten as loud an ovation as any Japanese wrestler has gotten in Japan!"

Oh man. Your sacred holy ground has been desecrated by the filthy no good workrate asshole Rock! I LOVE IT! Too bad Hogan wasn't there. Unlike Rock, I HATE Hogan, but I could just imagine the response he'd get on his "return" to Japan! The 5 people who care about that stuff in the US would commit suicide!

we certainly did have wrestling tonight. Tazz vs. Goldust. RVD vs. Storm and Hall vs. Spike. Doesn't get any better than that.
I was waiting for the bushwackers to come out and take on dink and doink. Or maybe they'd dig up Andre to fight hogan again.....

Certainly. There are morons in Japan as well as the good ol USA. Who would think differently?

Mutoh recently jumped from Antonio Inoki's New Japan to Mokoto Baba's All Japan. Mutoh does have some political influence in Japanese wrestling, much like a Hogan or HHH in American wrestling, but it's hardly his promotion, as even Misawa most likely holds more power behind the scenes.

I don't see it happening, given the massive egos that would be involved.

Hogan would probably get an amazing response in Japan. He's always been popular there. What's your point?

Aah, I see your point. In a fit of jealousy, feuled by the fact that there are wrestling fans intelligent enough to realize that the WWF product is shit and there is a far superior product available elsewhere, you decided to lash out against something you know nothing about, all the while knowing full well that your intention was to push the buttons of the few fans on this board that fall into the category you so envy.

Yes and no. Really, if you can't see that the overall product presented to the American consumer of professional wrestling has gone down, well, you're probably a retard. But, I would never say that a WWF fan is a retard by default. That would be wrong.

Well, really, it is so much better. Just like the man at the Wine store will tell you that a 1994 Bordeaux is better than a 1999 Cab, I'll tell you that puro is better than SE. Shit, give me a choice of the untalented ROCK vs. the talented YUJI NAGATA, and I'll take the talented Jap any time.

Hey, Sir O. It's called an "opinion." Why don't you allow some other people to have one without caling them retards. And you wonder why people hate you Jap freaks. You're so elitist and arrogant, it's disgusting. Then you get me and the other ones so pissed, we resort to your level, and then everyone is a retard for having an opinion.

And you can pick Yuji Nagata all you want over the Rock. You might have "a better product," but I would have "a better draw" and "more money than you." Hell, the Rock is a bigger draw in JAPAN than your precious Nagata is if the reaction he seemed to have gotten in the Japan show was any indication.

Goddamn, Sir O beat me to commenting. You’re one step ahead of me!

Well, Se7en, the WWF event in Japan on Friday was termed a success and all the Japs (I go to Hulk Hogan's school of PC) were said to be totally "Americanized" and knew the storylines and chanted, so maybe the WWF does have the door open to get a foothold in Japan.

I said that the WWF would fail with the show that they had lined up. They must have realized this too, because they changed the card. It doesn’t surprise me that the show did well; after all, to the Japanese, this show was a novelty – the chance to see the supposed “elite” wrestling promotion in America. What do you define as a foothold? I still say that the WWF will NOT have a foothold in Japan. They could maybe run one or possibly two shows like this a year, at best. Anything else would not work, because despite what you may think, there are MANY people who don’t like the WWF’s “sportz entertainment” style. Not just guys like Sir O & I. You can find MILLIONS of them in Japan.

I even read a rumor that the guy who was the Great Muta (I don't care what his name is in Japan, so don't tell me), and his organization (or the organization he works for, whichever one it is) were talking about an "inter-promotion show" the next time they come to Japan.

As Sir O already answered, it’s Keiji Mutoh. Even I would be curious to see an All-Japan / WWF cross-promotional show (they did run one about 12 years ago), but probably not for the same reasons that you would. It would never happen though. Even assuming Mutoh could pull it off (and it’s debatable whether or not he has THAT much influence over Mrs. Baba), Vince would never go for it. He’s an opportunist, and I’m sure that he’d see dollar signs in the deal, but he would never let it happen for the same reason that he’s never run a cross-promotional show in Japan for a decade or more – there’s too much uncertainty, i.e., he’d be deathly afraid of his athletes being injured. It would happen ALL the time when WCW ran promotions with New Japan. I’d be willing to bet that injuries WOULD happen, and Vince does not want that. Do you think he’d stick Austin, with bad neck and knees, against a guy who can kick as hard as Kawada can? Or how about sticking your much beloved Rock in the ring with an old bastard like Tenryu, who would gleefully stiff the shit out of Rocky the moment he tried to rattle off a catchphrase? It’s too big a risk for Vince to take.

And the show was so well-recieved by the fans in attendance (judging from responses on wrestling sites that is, so that way you don't have a heart attack and say I'm making claims about a show I didn't see), there WILL BE a next show!

The interesting thing about the show, though, is that it was reported that at least half the crowd was NOT the typical Japanese wrestling audience. Most of the real puro fans stayed away.

Not really. As Sir O has already stated, Hogan was ALWAYS popular in Japan, and if he returned there, I bet he still would be. Hell, he was allowed to win the first IWGP title tournament, defeating Antonio Inoki for the belt – an honor for a gaijin wrestler, no matter who it was (there’s a bit of Japanese wrestling history for you, since I know you care so much). It’s the same with the Rock; the Rock is just the modern day Hogan anyway. I’m sure the Japanese are fond of his charisma the same way they are of Hogan’s.

The 5 people who care about that stuff in the US would commit suicide!

No. Because in the end, what I said still remains true – the Japanese wrestling fanbase will NOT go for Vince’s brand of “entertainment” over actual pro wrestling. The cultures and styles are just too different. Sports entertainment has been tried in the past in Japan, and it has failed miserably. FMW was the last to try and put out a product similar to the WWF’s, and they just went bankrupt. Vince will not “conquer” the Japanese market.

As for us puro fans here in the States….I can’t speak for the others, like Sir O, but honestly, I used to very much be were you are…..well, not necessarily in the same position, because I was respectful of the other wrestling styles outside of North America….but after a year of horrible wrestling and product on the part of the WWF, I, as a wrestling fan, was forced to turn to Japan and to the indys to actually find good product.

And you can pick Yuji Nagata all you want over the Rock. You might have "a better product," but I would have "a better draw" and "more money than you."

THAT is the clear difference between wrestling fans who enjoy or appreciate puro, and those who just care for the WWF – work rate. The puro fans enjoy good wrestling product, with good workrate, and the WWF marks just enjoy all the wacky, zany skits and funny Rock catchphrases.

Nobody is retarded for having an opinion. But ignorance is retarded, and your bashing of a product that you have no clue about is retarded.

I'm not a wrestling promoter, nor do I desire to be one. But if I were a promoter in the US with the sole intent of making money, I'd definitely want the Rock on my roster. But speaking as a fan of wrestling, I'd prefer to watch a Yuji Nagata match over a Rock match, because Nagata at his worst is better than Rock at his best.

First off, i've never bashed Puroseau, just the people who love it, and that's ONLY because they have forced their opinions on others. What have i said to bash the product itself, SirO? The only thing I've done is take joy in the fact that the people who are supposed to love the product and who see it routinely obviously don't look at it as the bible like you do if they enjoy an alternative, even if they still like Puro all the same, and like the different styles. And i take joy in that cuz it pisses you off since your attitude pisses me off. As for the product itself, like i've said, "I don't know about it and I don't care." I'm sure it brings you lots of excitement, and good for you. But don't call me stupid if the WWF product brings me excitement, like you Japanese wrestling freaks always do.

As for the Jap comment, I kinda figured you weren't one, but hell, if we nuke Japan, no more Jap wrestling right? Well, there ya go as for my reasons for nuking them. If I woulda known you were black, I would've just forgotten about all this crap and told you to go pick some cotton for me while you're outside going to your local KFC to eat some more fried chicken before going out and killing white people. But alas, I didn't know that, so the nuke comment was all I had. Sorry, I'll have black material for you in the future, I promise, ok?

As for the Rock stuff, yes, I understand this, but again, you come off as bashing the WWF for force feedsing you the Rock, and, once again, seem to call fans retards cuz they like the Rock. Ok, fine you don't like him. I dont like Hogan or Nash, but if someone comes on with "Nash Rulz Yo!", I will respectfully give them my opinion about how he's a never-drawn, never will, boring, lazy peice of shit, but I'll try to stop short of calling the guy a retard for liking him. You should look into that sometime. you'd get less people hating you on the board.

Um, skitch, if you read my entire post, the REASON they are elitist and arrogant is because they wont allow me to have an opinion. fine, I respect your opinion, but that doesn't mean you have to call me a retard for having a different opinion, like Sir O does. You basically just responded to my post by reiterating my point. Ugh. And ,in closing,

Well, there were a few instances in the past where you called puro "gay" (btw, for future reference, it's spelled puroresu), but I'll agree that in this thread, you bashed the fans rather than the product itself. I'll concede that. But it's still lame, much like people who will bash the fans of a baseball team they don't like, just because they have no ammo to use against the team itself.

And I NEVER forced my opinion on anyone else. Hell, in this very thread, both Se7en and myself tried to give some general insight into who's who in Puro, what the WWF show in Japan really means, and he went as far as to analyze a potential WWF-All Japan show (and he's right, the "Japs" would end up kicking the tar out of, and possibly injuring, the WWF Superstarz). This is a public message board, and my opinion is different from the majority of the people here, so therefore at times I feel I need to stress my points in ways that might offend someone. Boo fuckin hoo.

All I hope is that maybe I can open a few doors for a few people so that they might expose themselves to a superior product, or at the very least, look at the current WWF product in a more objective manner, rather than the obscured view from inside Vince McMahon's rectum that many people share. I could care less what anybody personally enjoys. If someone's idea of an entertaining match is an Edge vs. Test 5 minute classic, good for them.

No, the reason I'm elitist and arrogant is because I'm some dopey guy who has seen a whole shitload of wrestling from different promotions and timeframes, encompassing just about every style there is, and has read more articles on wrestling than any sane man should ever dream of. In doing so, I think my tastes are more refined and my opinions more educated on the subject than someone who watches the same two programs a week as 98% of wrestling fans in this country.

I do have one question for you, though. I've noticed that even you too are critical of the WWF at times, so why aren't you willing to expand your horizons? Obviously as a wrestling fan, you want to see a good wrestling product. Well, it's out there, so why take the "I don't know about it and I don't care" attitude. Afraid of becoming one of us?

I'll be anxiously awaiting the black jokes...

FTL is not to blame for this abomination of a sig pic.
