From this advertisement, it looks like they give some of the breakdown of who goes where. But in the WWF, anything can happen.

1wrestling.com and Dave Scherer had a further update on the split. I think I'm just going to post 1wrestling.com articles out of spite now with their warnings of copying their stuff ;)

quote:

WWF.com has already partially let the cat out of the bag when it come to the impending split into "two promotions" in the upcoming dates section of their website. It has already been known for weeks that the WWF was going to run a split schedule of dates after the WrestleMania PPV in March that would coincide with the split into two promotions (unless something seriously drastic happens). But, it's kind of surprising that the WWF would announce that the 3/25 show in Wheeling, WV is, a non-televised event. Not only that, they wrote the following, in bold, on the website: "This is a NON-TELEVISED event. Remember to set your VCRs so you can watch RAW later!" In addition to that, they also have a show scheduled for Wednesday that week, which they usually never do. It is expected that Smackdown will go live that week. ... Thanks to everyone who helped with the story.

So, it looks like the split will go into effect the week AFTER Wrestlemania.

I cannot wait. I think this more then the NWO will improve the shows, and free up some room to do some intresting story lines again. I want to see Raven, and Lance Storm again, and this will difintley give them, and other wrestlers of there cailiber the oppertunity.

I didn't want to start the 8,435th thread on the split on the board, so I dug up the last one about it. In any case, I read some rather interseting news originally reported by the Torch Newsletter:

quote:

The current plan for after the WWF split is for RAW to feature the nWo and Vince McMahon, and Smackdown to feature a roster led by Ric Flair. The Ric Flair roster should also include the cruiserweight division which is expected to get a big push. RAW is expected to have more of a focus on entertainment while Smackdown is expected to focus on wrestling and workrate.

Hmmmmmmmm. Well, I guess this would satisfy everyone if they went with it. Interesting to see which show would get higher ratings: Raw which would be pretty much the same as the WWF is now, or Smackdown, which is much more suited to "diehard" wrestling fans, who have likely been turned off by the WWF in recent years, and would probably welcome this show. As a guy who is more in the middle on these things (I think too much wrestling can get boring, no matter how good it is, but I hate it when storylines take up too much time, like they did on Smackdown last night, even if they're decently entertaining, also like last night), I'm afraid I might be the one who doesn't get what I want while everyone else does!

Also, form a storyline standpoint, it tells you that the nWo is turning on Vince either at or before Mania, because the nWo only works as thugs trying to overtake the power, and that would mean they'd have to try to overtake Vince in this situation. Also, it tels you that guys like Austin, Benoit, Jericho, Angle, Booker T and others are going to Flair's WWF, while along with the nWo, guys like the Rock, Taker, and guys like that would be in the McMahon WWF. Interesting.

I have no clue how this is going to work out. I'm glad it's happening though, cause younger stars will get more TV time. You know that Stone Cold & The Rock will be in one promotion, as the #1 & #2 faces. But who will be the big stars in the other? I mean judging from what Teen posted, it will be Triple H & RVD. I thought RVD was being held back as a midcarder, I have no clue what will happen.

I don't know how likely that would be. One would think that the WWF would want their two top faces split between the two, on the other hand, it would be interesting to see guys like Jericho or HHH get the "top" spot in the other organization to build them up. I think when push comes to shove, though, the smart money, and smart move, is The Rock in one and Austin in the other.

As Diamond Dust says the nWo should stay with McMahon so they can turn on him.

My question is will there be two separate writing teams so there could be some competition and one-ups-manship, or will the same people be writing for both?

While I obviously dont know, I think the answer is that the WWF is going to have competing writing staffs. The reason I say this is that in the conference call about the WWF's third quarter numbers, Linda McMahon stated that the WWF is doubling their writing staff in the near future. That has to mean they are going to have two writing teams. That is likely the best way to go, seeing as how, like you said, there would be competition, and that's always a good thing IMO.
