I always thought Bret Hart was a good wrestler until I watched Bret Hart Wrestling with Shadows. It shows how much of a cry baby he is. I think it all started at that Royal Rumble (I can't remember which one) where Stone Cold was eliminated by Bret but got back in when the refs weren't looking and eliminated him. Hart threw a fit and destroyed the anouncers table and grabbed Vince and started his bitchin'.

Years past after that and the Survivor Series was right around the corner. Vince wanted Bret to lose to Shawn Michaels in his home town Canada. Bret sais no and he refused to lose to a pretty boy he said. Then they decided on a DQ to end the match and do it at a other PPV. But when the match came Vince screwed Bret and Michaels won the belt. Bret threw another fit and spit on Vinces' face and then once again destroyed the anouncers table. It was Brets time to pass the torch but he didn't want to lose in his home town. It seems he cares more about winning then the business.

So then I'm watching this crap league that Bret has now on PPV and he comes out talking trash that Austin, Nash, Hall, and Goldberg never beat him. That his league has pride. Then he finally called Vince a piece of shit. I like Vince and think he does whats good for the WWF. So what Vince did to Bret at SS was only to improve the business. Now, because Owen Hart has died it has even enraged Bret more. Vince says he has said he was sorry but Bret wouldn't forgive him. So inclosing I hope Bret Harts' league has a fall out and he becomes a nobody.

If anyone agrees please reply.

First off this is part of the Storyline. And if you gave it your all to a company for 15 years, and have a guy humiliate you and embarass you in your last match in your home country, you might be a little upset too.

Who cares what hes doing now with the WWA? Thats a bunch of garbage, and most of this is old news.

Yes, but just because the match was in Canada doesn't mean he can't lose there. Vince needed that belt to go to Michaels and thats what happened.

Well, hello Mr.Fancy pants. Let me tell you the only thing your leading is "Jack" and "Shit" and Jack has left town.

This is an overanalyzed situation that's been done to death, but still, I can't believe after all these years, how anyone can defend Bret. I mean, Vince was just as much of an asshole in this situation as he was, but Jesus, you're leaving the fucking company and you have the belt, you think maybe the classy thing to do is job it? The guy wanted to vacate the belt the next night on Raw. Gee, that wouldn't make the WWF look second rate. A guy willingly gave up the belt to go to the competition, meaning it would look like he thought just being a part of WCW is more important than being the number 1 guy in the WWF to the average fan. Also, WCW could crow they have the WWF champ who was never beat for the belt in their organization. It would make the WWF look so pathetic, it's embarrassing that Bret even had the ego enough to think that this was a viable option, as if Vince is gonna flush his company's credibility down the toilet just so one of his most unsuccessful draws in company history doesn't job a worked belt in his own country. Does Bret know wrestling is a work?

Boy, Bret that's paying back Vince for all he did for YOU in the last 15 years. I love how Vince is supposed to be loyal to Bret but Bret doesn't have to be loyal to Vince. As if Vince would be nothing without Bret when infact, it's more of the oppposite than anything. How well did the WWF do financially with Bret on top? That's what I thought.

But, then, Bret is a smart fan's darling, so it's ok what he did. Just like when Benoit did an equally classless and disgusting move with the WCW belt in early 2000. But, hey, it's Benoit, so it was a GREAT MOVE! If it was Sid instead in that situation, then he's be looked upon as the Spawn of Satan for doing this stuff. And justly so, too. But then he doesn't have ***** matches, so he deserves it. Don't even get me started on how Benoit got what he deserved after the Woman debacle with Sullivan.

Listen, Vince is a scumbag through and through, but in this situation, he did the only thing he could do if Bret wasn't willing to job. And, hell, in he end, Vince won and Bret lost, and the score ain't even close today.

Oh yeah, and our friend Signguy needs to learn the difference between work and shoot.
HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO!

Fine, then Vince should have told Bret that your dropping the belt, case closed, and if you dont like it, then dont go out there.

Instead of agreeing on a dq finish, and going a completely different route.

Vince should have saw this coming. Bret never liked Michaels (he's a pretty boy and gets the chicks) in the first place and the title match was in Canada. It was Brets last match and he didn't want to lose it to Michaels. It was a helluva match, though. The ending of it should have had Vince joining DX to make it better (then there's a reason to lose). I would like to see Bret come back (join nWo) and then get his ass kicked by SCSA. If only Bret would just drop this whole thing. I mean how long has this crap been going on?

Very true.

Also you don't want to have a situation like Blayze/Madusa - Bret showing up on Nitro, throwing the Fed's top belt in the trash. Yeah that would have looked really frickin good.

But it really does seem like the line between works and shoots is kinda beyond you, eh?

That would have been McMahon's fault. He allowed Bret to enter negotiations with WCW before he'd figured out how to take the belt off him in a way that would have made everyone happy. The whole Survivor Series thing could have been avoided if he'd just made Bret stay (He was on a 20 year contract or something) until Wrestlemania and then have him drop the belt to Austin. Michaels wouldn't have had it at all - and more than likely HBK would still be wrestling because he wouldn't have gone though that stupid Casket match at the Royal Rumble.

I don't think Bret whines enough to be called a Baby. If your brother died at work, wouldn't you be mad at the whole company, and the boss? I would have fuckin' sued the company. Bret and Vince don't get along, we all know that, and we all know Vince usually wins in the end. Plus, Bret's federation has no threat to the WWF, don't worry bout that.

Actually, a wrongful death lawsuit was filed against the WWF and Kansas City MO (site of the Kemper Arena); it was settled out of court for $18 million, with payouts going to Martha Hart, Owen's two children, and his parents.

Well, let's review the past few years of Bret's in-ring wrestling career.

You work for the same promotion for over a decade, giving that company your all. You finally work your way to the top of the promotion, become it's champion. Then you have to deal with a bunch of assholes, who when they aren't engaging in rampant drug use, are doing their best to put themselves over everyon else in the company (and as a result, nearly BANKRUPT the company in the process). There's you wonderful Clique for you. So you engage in pissing contests with these guys, because you have to if you want to remain at the top. You sign a multimillion dollar contract, for many, many years with the company you love, but suddenly the owner says that he can't really honor it to the end, so would you like to negotiate with the rival promotion? Well, you've got kids to feed, so you do it. All you want is to have one last PPV victory, drop the title the next night to the guy you hate but have had to deal with for the past couple years, but instead you're humiliated and embarassed by the owner, no less, in front of millions of people worldwide and your own family at home. You leave the promotion in disgust and then sign with WCW, where the situation is no better - there's still power-mongers in charge there, many of them the same assholes you had to deal with in the WWF - but at least you're getting a good paycheck. WCW messes with your character direction to the point where it's all ridiculous, but you don't so much care anymore, because your heart for the business has been ripped out and stomped on by Vince McMahon. You're pretty much in it for the money at this point, but even that is taken from you because some green idiot, a washed-up never-was football player, kicks you in your head without even looking to make sure it was a protected blow. Bam, your in-ring career is over, and soon, they ain't paying you the big bucks anymore. Add to that the fact that your brother dies tragically, and your ex-promotion MAY have a liability in his death. Oh, and your family is also ridiculously dysfunctional too.

Gee, I guess I'd be a bit bitter too.

Please, I beg of you, NEVER complain about Bret's not wanting to job and then mention Shawn "I've Lost My Smile" Michaels in the same paragraph.

I do agree about Benoit, though. I'm a Benoit fan, but it was an unclassy move he did to WCW. They would have made him the champ and the star of the company, but he left the promotion just because he didn't want to deal with the guy who's wife he stole as the head booker.

Yes. Everyone has opinions. Do what the man says, though. Bret was only careing for himself and not the WWF. He just wanted to keep the belt. If he gave it up it would have gave Michaels a push and everyone would have went home happy.

What are you talking about? Michaels had been champ 2 times before this, so Michaels didn't need any push. And Bret was leaving after this anyway, it was one of the few times that one of the big 5 PPV's came to a city in Canada. Why did McMahon have to have this all end on a sour note? I mean if they had a nice good-bye, Bret might have came back if he didn't like WCW, but now we will never see him in a WWF Ring or even in the attendance, just cause McMahon wanted it his way.
