According to Dave Meltzer, the final line-up looks like this:

*Hulk Hogan vs. Rock

*Chris Jericho vs. HHH for Stephanie's title (HA! Dave tried a funny!)

*Steve Austin vs. Scott Hall

*Ric Flair vs. Undertaker

*William Regal vs. Rob Van Dam for IC title

*Kane vs. Kurt Angle

*Edge vs. Booker T

*Four-way for tag titles with Billy & Chuck vs. Hardys vs. APA vs. Dudleys

*Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Lita for womens title

*DDP vs. Christian for European title

*Test & Mr. Perfect & Lance Storm vs. Rikishi & Albert & Scotty 2 Hotty (at this point the plan is for this match on Heat)

Judging by other rumors, it wouldn't surprise me if there is a Hardcore Battle Royal so Goldust, the Big Show, Godfather, Tazz, Spike, Tajiri, Val Venis (he's Canadian godammit, he's gotta be on it. And who better to win a "Hardcore" title anyway? He'd be my pick)and the bunch of retards who didn't make it to the real card can get in.

This really doesn't look like that bad a card, IMO. It probably could be a little better, but this is Wrestlemania caliber I feel. I can definitely say that the HHH/Jericho match should be great, as should Booker/Edge, Angle/Kane (Yeah, yeah, Kane sucks, sure. He's the best big guy wrestler around and Angle, who is God, ALWAYS gets a hell out of a match out of him on Raws, so I would think he'll be able to do like HHH did last year with Taker and get a memorable match out of a big slug), and I expect DDP/Christian if it goes off, to be good, too.

The nWo matches will be interesting to say the least, just to see if Hall still has it and Austin should be able to get something out of him, and as for Hogan-Rock, I can see this being like Hogan-Warrior at WM6. Two entertaining characters who people who are "smart" (i.e. dumb, well, when it comes to Rock anyway ;) Note: all you "smarts" who want to kill me for complimenting Rock's underated work and charisma, calm the fuck down already ) can't stand, but could pull of a surprisingly good match especially helped by the aura the crowd will give it. Plus, I've read that they are going to a similar approach as the Hogan-Warrior match and are having Pat Patterson give them exactly what to do and don't go out there and screw it up. The only question: will Hogan's ancientness roon the strategy?

RVD v. Regal could be a classic and it could be shit. Since "Mr. I finally stopped having spot fests and now actually put on exciting matches for once" RVD is in it and after seeing the miracle he pulled with Goldust at No Way Out, I would go on the side of "classic." But, then Regal is in it, so it automatically becomes "shit." Name one DECENT, nevermind good, match that fat out of shape drug addict (Regal not RVD) has had in the WWF? I know Vince is being nice to the guy cuz he'll probably go back on the wagon if he gets fired, but why is it Lance Storm, who has just as little charisma, and puts on exciting matches, gets buried on Heat, while this fucking loser is IC Champ? He is sooooooooooooooooooooo boring! His ring work is perfect for 1975, but unfortunately, tis not 1975 anymore, so go back to England, you bloody wanker.

"Classic/Shit" can also be used to describe Flair/Taker, which I think could surprise, you never know. It's got a hell of a storyline behind it, though, so either way I'm looking forward to it, maybe more than any other math on the card.

The other matches are all filler designed to have Canadians win and/or gay tag teams to hump each other (Chuck and Billy/ Hardys, I'm looking at YOU! And add the "William Regal of tag teams", the Dudleys on that list, too. God, I want Boring Bubba Ray to die. I don't know why, I just do.)

So, the top matches all have my interest and with 4 hours to allow the good matches to go long, it should be a great PPV. Hopefully, they don't waste too much of the 4 hours time on the rumored Drowning Pool and Saliva "concerts." Hopefully, one of em sings a rock national anthem and the other sings some guy's new entrance song like Motorhead last year, and they don't give an actual performance cuz, while I like Drowning Pool, Wrestling Show + Concerts = Bad Idea.

It will be a great show, the only thing that could possibly ruin it are the Flair/Taker and Rock/Hogan matches. Great midcard though, I think they could add Storm and Mr. Perfect to either the IC or Euro Title matches. I bet the best match will be Austin/Hall, which will surprise us all.

Diamond Dust, laughed my ass off at the Regal spot. I couldn't agree more with what you said. But why did they go and make the tag belts a 4 team match? I was looking foward to APA kicking ass and taking names. Even mania needs a 2 minute match and that was the best posibility. Oh well, it'll still be good with the two fag teams and boring Dudleys. Sorry I actually like the APA, they rock. Still, I'm looking foward to Mania and think it'll be a good one.

Agreed - especially Mr. Perfect. He's still got enough to carry his weight, and the fans really warmed up to him when he came back to the WWF.

Overall the card looks OK, I just hope they have a few surprises in store. WM is, as they say, "the grandaddy of 'em all", let's hope it lives up to that this year.

This week's quote : Hope in the face of our human distress helps us to understand the turbulence deep inside that takes hold of our lives - Shame and disgrace over mental unrest keeps us from saving those we love - The grace within our hearts and the sorrow in our souls - Deception of fame - Vengeance of war - Lives torn apart - Losing oneself - Spiraling down - Feeling the walls closing in - A journey to find the answers inside our illusive mind...

I'm very much thinking of passing on this year's Wrestlemania. I'm less than enamored with the card.

Hulk Hogan vs. Rock
This *MIGHT* be decent, but I doubt it. It all depends upon whether Hogan will sell Rock's shitty offense, because I know the Rock will sell his ass off for Hogan's shitty offense. MAYBE Rock pulls something out of Hulk, but I have my doubts.

Chris Jericho vs. HHH
This will probably be good. I hope HHH picks up his pace, but I expect this to be good. Even better if they keep the belt on Jericho for another month.

Steve Austin vs. Scott Hall
I have NO expectations of this being anything good at all. Probably a lot of punch / kick crap, with Nash interfering. Blecch.

Ric Flair vs. Undertaker
Flair is still GOD, and hell, he even carried Vince to a good match at the Rumble. But can he carry the Undertaker? I doubt it. Knowing Taker, the bastard will probably no-sell everything Flair does. This might have been an entertaining match 10 years or so ago, but not now.

William Regal vs. Rob Van Dam for IC title
RVD will win, and this will suck. Too different style clashes here.

Speaking of Regal:

Regal is talented. He's a LOT more talented than most people give him credit for, but the fact of the matter is that Regal is a WRESTLER, not a sports entertainer, so there's no way in hell he can get over or have a decent match with his style in the 2 minutes or so given to a regular WWF TV match. If you put him in the ring with someone who can chain wrestle like Benoit or Angle, Regal would put on a good match - with NO carrying whatsoever by the other man. The sad fact is that there is are woefully few people in the WWF who could wrestle his same style. It's not that he sucks; he simply has a style that is radically different from the Rocks or HHHs of the WWF, and thus often his matches don't work because of this.
I suggest you rent WCW Uncensored 96, to see what a real man Regal really is.

Kane vs. Kurt Angle
I see no point in putting Kane on the card here. Really, at this point, Kane should only be used for putting people over, or the occasional pointless undercard feud.

Edge vs. Booker T
Might be good, if given time.

Four-way for tag titles with Billy & Chuck vs. Hardys vs. APA vs. Dudleys
Let's review the combatants - boring pseudo-queers, unbelievably stale not-so-pseudo-queers, WORST team in the WWF (but their HOSSES, BY GAWD, so we'll push them anyway!), and the other horribly stale tag team in the WWF. This will suck shit emphatically.

Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Lita for womens title
After that RAW match, which showed the new Trish (half-nekkid and BRUTAL!!!), I had hopes that this would be decent. Then they added Lita, thus ensuring that not only will this suck, but Jazz and Trish will run the risk of being killed in the ring by the sloppiest worker in America.

DDP vs. Christian for European title
Good, if given time. DDP is always solid.

Test & Mr. Perfect & Lance Storm vs. Rikishi & Albert & Scotty 2 Hotty (at this point the plan is for this match on Heat)
Heel team - good. Face team - horrible. If the roster cuts were to happen today, I would wipe the entire face team completely out.

Hardcore Battle Royal so Goldust, the Big Show, Godfather, Tazz, Spike, Tajiri, Val Venis
Probably a clusterfuck, but maybe entertaining.

Hopefully, they don't waste too much of the 4 hours time on the rumored Drowning Pool and Saliva "concerts."

If Drowning Pool and Saliva's concert buses were to crash tomorrow, killing both bands, I would not shed one tear.

Remember - every second they take to play their shitty "nu-metal" is a second taken away from the actual wrestling. And I'd rather watch Hogan or Hall stink up the joint.

They said they will announce the rest of the matches tonight including the hardcore match.

Even though it wont happen it would be great to see a hardocre match of all the hardcore champions who are not in a match currently on Wrestlemania in a battle royale for the ultimate hardcore champion.

here is a list. Turns out to be 15 guys too so you never know:

The Big BossMan, Hardcore Holly, Al Snow, Crash Holly, Tazz, Funaki, Perry Saturn, Gerald Brisco, Pat Patterson, Steve Blackman, Raven, Mike Awesome, Maven, Goldust

What do I think? Personally I think this: Visit this Website, but I digress.

*Hulk Hogan vs. Rock - SHIT because Hogan never could wrestle!

*Chris Jericho vs. HHH - SHIT because HHH has already beaten him 4 times that I remember!

*Steve Austin vs. Scott Hall - SHIT because Scott Hall is way overrated!

*Ric Flair vs. Undertaker - Unbelievable SHIT of two has-beens!

*William Regal vs. Rob Van Dam for IC title - SHIT because Regal never could wrestle in my opinion!

*Kane vs. Kurt Angle - SHIT we've seen numerous times on RAW and Smackdown!

*Edge vs. Booker T - SHIT for no reason!

*Four-way for tag titles with Billy & Chuck vs. Hardys vs. APA vs. Dudleys - SHIT, but actually may have some potential!

*Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Lita for womens title - SHIT because women look like retards in the ring! Try practicing before the match ladies!

*DDP vs. Christian for European title - SHIT because it's the Who Cares match of the night!

*Test & Mr. Perfect & Lance Storm vs. Rikishi & Albert & Scotty 2 Hotty (at this point the plan is for this match on Heat) - Waste of time SHIT! Thank God it's on Heat.

Overall, I say Wrestlemania X8 is set to go down as the biggest piece of SHIT ever!

Thanks Mrs. Moosen for the pics.
You are getting good at this cut & paste thing.

Am I the only one looking forward to Wrestlemania on Sunday???

Hulk Hogan vs. Rock
I don't think this going to be a great match by any extent. The Rock will win,end of story.

Chris Jericho vs. HHH
This will be a fantastic match. HHH will win but it won't be horrible to watch.

Steve Austin vs. Scott Hall
As much as I want to say this is going to be a great match, it won't be, Hall will win, even though Austin should.

Ric Flair vs. Undertaker (No DQs)
Flair will win. End of story.

William Regal vs. Rob Van Dam for IC title
RVD will win because he's beat Regal in the past already. He'll knock the brass knuckles out of Regal's head with a kick and then win with the 5-star.

Kane vs. Kurt Angle
This will be a good match. Not great, but good. Angle will win with the angle lock like always. The shortest match of the night.

Edge vs. Booker T
Best match of the night. Edge will win but it will be one hell of a fight.

Four-way for tag titles with Billy & Chuck vs. Hardys vs. APA vs. Dudleys
Why is everyone looking at this match so low??? It would have been a horrible match if it was between Billy & Chuck vs. APA, but now it's a really good match. No one on this board like the Hardys and the Dudleys, but even though neither team will win, they will add to it and make it a better match. APA will win.

Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Lita for womens title
Okay I agree that this match would have been better if it was just between Trish and Jazz and Trish won adding to the Trish-Jazz rivalry. Adding Lita in is like when they decided to throw RVD into the Austin-Angle match at No Mercy, in the middle of their big rivalry. Normally I would root for Lita but she doesn't belong in this match, so I give this one to Trish.

DDP vs. Christian for European title
I'm looking forward to this match. DDP will win but it'll be great to see Christian back as a heel where he belongs.

Hardcore Battle Royal
Well, judging how crazy Hardcore matches have been lately (especially what looks like a great match tonight on Smackdown *read spoiler*). I personally think this will work great as a filler match. I would personally love to see Maven win but that won't happen. It all depends on who they throw in this match.

Test & Mr. Perfect & Lance Storm vs. Rikishi & Albert & Scotty 2 Hotty (at this point the plan is for this match on Heat)
Waste of time even for Heat.

quote:

Hopefully, they don't waste too much of the 4 hours time on the rumored Drowning Pool and Saliva "concerts."

Well, I hope they just perform a song each to fill up the evening. That would be great. No more than that.

Other than that, I see this being a really good Wrestlemania, despite what everyone else on has been saying.

Hulk Hogan vs. Rock
-- This match should F*cking Kick Ass like none other. The charisma, intensity, and popularity of each man is so amazing, that watching them clash and blend their styles together will be possibly the greatest match of all time.I'm expecting Rock to win. Leg Drop vs People's Elbow.

Chris Jericho vs. HHH for Undisputed Championship
---- This match should be great with all the drama going into it. Most matches are sloppy and un-costructed but this match has all the drama added to it that it should be intense. Plus matches with submission moves (walls of Jericho) are allways interesting. You're on the edge of your seat thinking "DAMN IS HE GOING TO MAKE IT TO THE ROPES?!!?!? OH SH*T I DON"T THINK HE CAN HOLD ON ANY LONGER...WAIT!...I CAN"T BELIEVE IT!!!...HE GOT THE ROPES!!!!". Plus the ovation will be huge if Triple H hits the pedigree and pins him becoming the new champion. The WWF messes up making heels win too often. The crowd is usually booing and frustrated after the match. If Triple H wins, the crowd will be happy and provide another ovation similar to win Hogan pinned Andre the Giant. Plus I want to see Stephanie take a pedigree. Followed by her top ripping off, thus leading to her pants to rip off revealing her secret that she indeed does not wear panties :).

*Steve Austin vs. Scott Hall
This match should be intense. WIth both men being brawlers, it should be pretty physical and should turn out to be a decent match. Expect Nash to get involved and cost Austin his match, setting up a Austin vs Nash fued.

Ric Flair vs. Undertaker
This match should be a slobberknocker, as J.R. would say. The No DQ rule means one thing. Interference and tons of weapon use. So be on the look out for a very shocking interference. *cough* David Flair coming out to Attack Undertaker with a chair then turning and nailing Ric, followed by Taker hitting the Last Ride, and the pinfall, thus keeping his winning streak *Cough*

William Regal vs. Rob Van Dam for IC title
This match should be high paced and pretty decent. With Regal's excellent Mat skills, and RVD's kick/high flying skills, this match should be pretty up and down. Expect Regal to take this one. I mean he jobbed at last year's wrestlemania, and RVD has been tearing him up lately. Expect a screwjob to occur, involving the infamous brass knuckles. This victory will solidify Regal's place as a dominant heel.

Kane vs. Kurt Angle
Although this match has taken place before, it should be pretty good. Sheer power vs Technical skills. This one is hard to call, but I'm guessing that Kane will reverse an Angle Slam and hit a chokeslam for a victory.

Edge vs. Booker T
This will be a great match and it will put Edge over greatly. Expect the Book to dominant towards the end, but out of nowhere expect Edge to earn the surprising win. This act will add more to his main event credibility.

Four-way for tag titles with Billy & Chuck vs. Hardys vs. APA vs. Dudleys
This match should be intense and some tables or something like that will involved. Either The Dudleys or the Acolytes will win. This is the hardest match to predict. I'm expecting a 3d from the dudley's on bradshaw or Farooq to put the match away, but I'll have to expect a clothesline from hell to ensure the Acolytes as the NEW tag team champions.

Jazz vs. Trish Stratus vs. Lita for womens title
Whoever disses this match is crazy. These three women have tremendous atheletic ability. I think it might have been better with just Jazz and Lita, but the adding of Trish does heat things up. Expect tops to get ripped off, and spanking to occur. Also expect the moonsault, leading to Lita's new role as the WWF's Women Champion.

DDP vs. Christian for European title
This match should be great. DDP is a great performer, and so is Christian. I'm expecting a Diamond Cutter to put Christian away for the Win.

Test & Mr. Perfect & Lance Storm vs. Rikishi & Albert & Scotty 2 Hotty (at this point the plan is for this match on Heat)

The Face team plain out sucks. I'm expecting Test to hit his new wicked fresh move on Scotty while he's the middle of the worm. 1,2,3 Test Mr.Perfect and Storm win.

I'm guessing: Goldust vs Al Snow vs Maven (Hardcore Title)
The three battle it out and have a nice match, but then either Raven or Big Show come out and win the title and then exit.

You should never go into a PPV expecting every match to kick ass like you said it would. Like, have you seen the sloppy ring-work that Hogan did on Raw?? And put that with the Rock's stupid slapping and shitty version of the Sharpshooter. The only thing that will keep this match alive is the crowds reactions which will be amazing, and the Rock can throw out some good moves here-and-there, but I haven't seen a good Hogan wrestling match in so long. You're right about HHH/Jericho, but there is a possibility that Steph will fuck it all up.

quote:

Sheer power vs Technical skills.

Sometimes that isn't a good thing. But Kane is probably the best big guy in the business, I think Angle deserves a better opponent though. I still would have added him to the Championship Match if I had the choice.

Overall though, I bet this PPV will be better than the Runble, No Way Out and half of 2001 combined. I have to give the WWF credit, I would have never expected the card to be like this! I can't wait to watch it.
