| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01  | From the Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter: -Several of the WWF's top writing team members, and top wrestlers, are frustrated with Vince McMahon's current plans for the WWF. Vince McMahon can get his way with most people backstage, including Paul Heyman, Triple H and Pat Patterson. However, Steve Austin does not give in as easily if he think an idea stinks. Austin didn't like what Vince had planned for Austin's angle with Scott Hall at RAW two weeks ago. Austin managed to get the script changed to most of what he wanted. The argument was over the beating Austin was going to take on that RAW. The original script called for a very mild angle, but Austin wanted to take a bigger beating. He went to Hall & Nash, and asked them if they thought the script "sucked as bad as he thought." Hall & Nash agreed with him. Also, Hall wanted to have an evenly contested match with Spike Dudley, but Vince wanted a squash. (Personal note: Geez, maybe we should stop killing the WWF writers, folks. They seem to be the ones who KNOW what they are doing, it's just that they happen to be pussies.) -Shawn Michaels was backstage at the live Smackdown from San Antonio. A lot of backstage sources are reporting that his attitude cemented the fact that no-one will be going to bat for him anytime soon. Right now, the chance of him appearing at WrestleMania is very slim. Friends of Michaels say they would be shocked if he accepted an offer from the WWF to wrestle at WrestleMania. -Hulk Hogan has been described as personable, friendly and professional backstage by several wrestlers. You cant believe everything you read on the internet unless it has (AP) in front of it and unless you are backstage how do we and them really know what it is like backstage? People that are "sources" to these sites say stuff just cause they have animosity towards people...cant believe it all. | ||||

And those "sources" they claim they have are wrestlers that arent used on TV mostly so they probably just let out all there anger to these so called journalists and make it more than it is. | ||||

Although I was a fan of ECW it was bound to fail you cant run a fed trying to be a major player out of your mothers basement and owing everyone money including Vince McMahon, and WCW well after beating them for like 83 weeks straight they went way down hill and could not recover. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 02 | i think the report is probably false, a lot of wrestlers(lance storm,brett hart, ric flair,jim ross, and vince mcmahon) have said in the past that pwtorch is a peice of shit publication that frequently spreads false rumors to try and sell their newsletter. i would believe the report if it came from the wrestlingobserver newsletter. the observer is well established and has rarely published a false report when it comes to weight loss, subway sandwiches go hand in hand with AIDES | ||||

I really would love to see Michaels back in an NWO role, if not wrestling then at least with them as a leader or manager of sorts. ECW folded because Heyman was shitty with finances. Bottom line, he just couldn't find a way to pay the bills. He could have probably hung on by his fingernails a bit longer (if TNN didn't screw him for the WWF), but ECW's demise was probably inevitable. While I always preferred WCW to ECW's product, there are some people out there who seem to label ECW as a failure because it folded....I don't see the logic in that. As a business, no it wasn't too profitable, but it changed the face of wrestling, and I would argue that Vince owes much of his success of the past 5 years or so to ECW (who's product and style he basically ripped off and renamed "Attitude"). WCW is the sadder case, because while it was incurring a large debt, it WAS a company with value. The ratings, even in the bitter end, were still quite high for a cable show. TNT hasn't quite duplicated the success of Monday programming that they had with WCW. The whole situation fills me with anger and sorrow, because WCW could have continued as a promotion, and could have went on to become a strong company once again, but the monkeys in charge (Brad Siegel, I'm looking at you) literally went around badmouthing the promotion to Time Warner with the specific intent of getting them cancelled so they could sell the company to Vince for MILLIONS **LESS** than what others were going to pay for it.
