They give us this shit ending of a countout!!!!! What the fuck is that about? No heel turns?? Only giving the match 5 minutes?? What kind of drugs were the WWF taking on that match? The rest of the night was SO GOOD, why would they possibly end it on a countout?

Ok, other than that, RAW was spectacular. Brock Lesnar kicks ass. They set up next week's raw nicely with HHH hopefully winning so we never see Steph again. The split and the draft = GREAT IDEA!! Interview in the beginning of the show was great too, ive never seen Nash that upset before. The crowd was AWESOMNE all night, with the goodbye chants, and they even got a "you screwed bret" chant in on Vince himself. King saying "get over it" was hilarious.

2 complaints: Where the fuck was Austin, and why the fuck did the WWF give us that shit as an ending?

I fully agree. Why the hell did they end that match in a count out??? It makes no sense. Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect any heel turns (unlike half this board), but come on at least let Hogan and Rock win the damn match.

Other than that it was a fantastic RAW overall. Boy I can't wait till next Monday with the draft and the HHH-Y2J/Steph match. By far the funniest part was the "Na Na Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye!!!!".

Damn, that had me stumped too. I thought for sure Hogan would turn on Rock, and the nWo would just go to town on him.

And who wins by count out? You mean they actually adhere to, like, rules and stuff? :D

Also, one more thing: Can someone clue me in on the origins of Brock? Is he from ECW? That guy's a friggin' monster!

He has been a developmental talent for some time now down in HWA. He has worked dark shows since probably October/November.

Your right though.. He is huge.

I thought that it was a great show, and the ending did suck. But I thought that the writing for this show was beyond spectacular.
They did nothing that anyone expected and they didn't disappoint.

I still think that Hogan will go back to the NWO but not until Backlash. But then the split fucks that up in many ways.
That itself is a bold move. I knew that they were counting on the change, but a draft still seems real risky. Heyman coming back is awesome. Hopefully he will play into the whole draft thing.
Good days ahead, I hope. WWF did a phenomanel job. And that RAW was one of the best.

I have a feeling Eric Bischoff is coming into the fold. I mean who else could have come up with that ending. That had 1997 Nitro written all over it.

I was just waiting to hear Tony Schiavone say "Hogan wants Hall and Nash!!!, He wants them! We are Out of Time!!!

Just AWFULL!! To end the show like that is just horrible. Overall the show wasn't that bad. Some classic chants, The bret one had me laughing. Only thing I hope is that Paul Heyman does not come back. No need for that at all....

In November at a house show there was like 5000 people chanting "Steriods" in the middle of his match.

The ending makes sense....it sets them up to come back with Hogans replacement. I still say its the Undertaker.

Heyman is great as an announcer. At least that is what I think.

I think that he is a great addition. Hopefully he comes back as a disruption for the show and comes out with the good ECW and WCW talent. Hopefully the ladder.

An okay RAW. Most of it was just starting / furthering angles, which is to be expected the day after the big PPV.

Highlights:

1. Flair SHOOTS on McMahon, and the fans booing Vince out of the building. I love YOU, Canada.

2. The return of PAUL HEYMAN! With Lesnar. As much as Paul E. makes a great manager, I so hope he gets one of the announcing gigs. Maybe I'll be spared from the King drooling like an idiot over any piece of ass if that happens.

Of course, the show ended on a HUGE negative note. Nice to see that they're too pussy to turn the Rock heel, like they should do. I'm not surprised.

Also I don't understand why they didn't use Real American for his entrance. I wonder if it has something to do with being in Canada.

Why? So you in particular can say that was another "stupid swerve for the sake of a swerve" and go into a rant of how the WWF is pathetic. So, they're pathetic for not doing a senseless swerve, but they are if they DO do a senseless swerve, right? God, my head hurts after that last statement.

I am in favor of Rock turning heel as I've stated on this board before, but I was hoping tonight wasn't the night. It sorta makes sense the nWo turned on Hogan (Nash explained that last night), but Rock then turning his back on Hogan RIGHT AWAY would be dumb. They have to build a storyline for the next month or so and have issues build up between the Rock and Hogan, where perhaps their egos clash as a tag team, maybe even include a tag title reign so they HAVE to team up alot and God knows the tag team ranks won't suffer if that happens, to give a reason for the Rock to turn heel, and then, he'll turn his back on him at Backlash or something. That's my prediction. And I'm pretty confident. Because the standard Hulk Hogan in the WWF formula reads as this:

1) Hulk Hogan teams up with Wrestler B (Andre, Macho Man, Pul Orndorf, etc.)

2) Wrestler B gets jealous of the greatness that is Hulk Hogan

3) Wrestler B turns back on Hulk Hogan

4) Wrestler B challenges Hogan to a match at PPV and promises to END HULKAMANIA!!! Announcers say, "Hulkamania is in serious jeopardy!! No, we're actually serious this time!"

5) Hulk Hogan obliterates Wrestler B at PPV.

6) Wrestler B goes back to Superstars where he only wins jobber matches for the rest of eternity.

So, you see, it is elementary the Rock will turn heel, he's Hogan's friend! I just hope they use more time to explain it until it does happen.

Oh yeah, and great Raw. Shitty ending, but one the best Raws ever. And the crowd was fucking great!

But the best news is, no matter how much of a piece of ass she is, it looks like Stephanie has gotten the message and is taking herself off TV so she can't put herself over every week. It seems with alot of the stuff that went on during Raw last night, the WWF recieved a few messages loud and clear. Of course, Stewphanie could also be setting herself up to win the WWF title, too. It can go one of two extreme directions of egotism if you look at it.

To end, can't wait for the split and can't wait to see this Brock Lesner kid. This guy has MONEY written all over him, especially with Heyman as his mouth peice. A quiet destructive heel who kills every face in the WWF until he's a main eventer. Now, that's what the WWF needs. Hopefully, they don't follow their "We'll job him out for a month so he doesn't get a big head" philosophy. This guy has "Goldberg with talent" written all over him. Make him indestructible and THEN worry about his ego with this kid. With the guys in the WWF locker room, they'll straighten him out if he gets a big head anyway, unlike Goldie in WCW.

A pretty good raw. I am so glad that the split is finally going to happen and that I am going to see one of the first split nights (next thursday at the CAA)...Lesner looked great when i saw him at raw a few months back, lots of potential. Maybe this will also allow us to see other up and comers like Lo-ki and Randy Orton among others. What about guys like Raven, D-Lo or Mark Henry...do you think they will show up at raw, or will their names just be taken in the draft...or forgotten entirely?? And some of the guys they just let go after their contracts expired, will they be brought back? like Jerry Lynn or any of the other light heavyweights...

As for the NWO, and it needing a new leader...I disagree. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were ALWAYS THE LEADERS OF THE NWO. It was as soon as the ego that was hogan go in the way that the NWO wasn't as good as it could have been. if anything they will add a person or 2 to their ranks just to aid in the killing off of the faction that they end up in (looks like smackdown to me folks along with rock and hogan).

I thought it was a great RAW, and I agree the end had me stumped. I was just waiting for Big Poppa Pump, or someone else to come from behind, and blind side Hogan, and Crock, and then the 3 NWO guys beat the hell out of them. Can't wait till Smackdown, and I will be very suprised if HHH wins, and Steph ends up off TV. I maybe see a turn on Y2J maybe with Steph, and Hunter beating him down togther.

Steph isn't gonna leave--she'll lose the match to HHH and then get off on a technicality. They will name the second product WWF-2 and she will go there and say "This isn't the WWF! I'm gonna haunt you forever!" I smell a rig and a half.

Also--won't it be cool to see Vince the heel have to draft faces Monday night? Same with Flair--he'll have to draft heels. I'd love to see Flair draft Taker and Vince draft Austin. The draft is the best idea they've had since bringing back the King.

Take it down.

That's not right. A stupid "swerve for the sake of a swerve" would have been to turn HHH heel at the PPV, by reuniting with Steph to win the title off Jericho. I remember quite a few people here WANTING that to happen.

Rock turning heel wouldn't be an senseless swerve, it'd be actual character and angle progression. He's been face for 2 years straight now, and the act is getting tired. He could turn heel now, and it'd only be a benefit to the character and storyline. He'd still be mad over, it'd give him more character development than he's had in the last 2 years or so, and it would establish the NWO as a credible threat (something that hasn't been done). Plus you'd open the field for him to have runs in numerous top feuds - with a face Hogan, with Austin, with HHH, with Benoit (when he returns, if he returns as a face)....it'd be fresh and different. It'd work, too.

But the WWF won't do it, because they think that if they do, a handful of people won't buy his t-shirts anymore, or a couple less people won't go see "The Scorpion King" when it debuts....it's silly. Rock could turn into a full-fledge heel tomorrow, with NO appreciable drop in his popularity and only a marginal change in his current character.

As for Steph....As much as the thought of Steph leaving an on-air role appeals to me, I have strong doubts it will happen. Listen carefully to the wording of last night's challenge / acceptance between HHH and Steph. It's HHH vs. Jericho / Steph....but listen to Steph's words. "If you pin ME, I'll leave." Key words right there. If HHH pins HER. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it's Jericho that does the job next week, thus ensuring Steph remains on TV.

What Se7en states about the Rock is in all honesty quite true. I mean, if everyone remembers back to when the Rock was a heel he was a helluva lot funnier. At this point the Rock doesn't even make people laugh anymore, he simply spews out catch phrases that get old after a week or two. Back when the Rock was a heel, he'd have his little bits where he'd be totally funny. The simple fact is that the WWF don't realize that although their Rock T-shirts have been selling, their overall ratings have been steadily going down the crapper compared to what they once were. The Rock would be a perfect addition to the NWO in my opinion. I do agree that the Rock and Hogan should team for a while, and then at Backlash maybe have a run-in by Hall and Nash turning the Rock Nwo. I mean, the best thing about WCW was seeing new members join the NWO and turn heel, although it shouldn't be done to the extent where there are two seperate NWO groups with one containg the stars and one containing the scrubs. That was just a retarded a decision.

Se7en, I am certainly not disagreeing with you that Rock should turn heel and that it does make sense, but I'm asking how would it make sense from a STORYLINE standpoint. That's key to making it work. You did not address one thing about the Rock character's motivation to join the nWo. Was he with the nWo from the beginning? Is he pissed at the fans for booing him at Mania? No matter what, if you turned him NOW, it would be with a half-assed storyline to explain it.

You need to build up a reason for the Rock to actually want to join Hall and Nash or even just be alone as a heel. The guy says he does everything "for the people." Well, this wouldn't be for the people, now would it? Yes, you can say that he feels the people turned their back on him Sunday, but then why didn't he turn after last year's Mania? You need him to have a pure hatred of the FACE Hogan build up on the part of the Rock for a turn to matter. THEN, he could say to the crowd, "You're taking HIS side? Well, fuck you!" and you could understand WHY he doesn't do things for the people anymore.

Right now there's no reason for him to hate the FACE Hogan since the Rock has been saying he grew up idolizing him. Make the story be that he finally teamed up with his idol and he was a dick to him and then you have not only a swerve that makes sense, but a storyline people can relate to, because people get disappointed by people they admire all the time.

And for thre record a HHH turn with Stephanie WOULD have been good character development and made storyline sense. What is HHH's character? An asshole who comes up with alot of plots to fuck with people's head. What would a HHH-Stephanie alliance all along leading into Wrestlemania have been? Fucking with people's heads. Thank you.

Ideally, I think they should have turned Rock heel right after the WM match, joining in Nash and Hall in beating Hogan. Sure, they didn't really know that Rock would get booed to the extent that he did, but they could've gotten the message to Rock and Hogan during the match to make the change (much like IYH: Mindgames, where Mankind was originally supposed to go over HBK, but Vince changed his mind mid-match and called for the DQ finish). Rock then could have easily explained his actions on Raw as the fans turning on him, even after sticking with the fickle fans after last year's WM. It's really not difficult. There was still a window on Raw to do the turn, andalthough it wouldn't have been as effective as turning right after the WM match, it still could have been an effective turn if booked properly. I think that window's pretty much closed now.

It's still a swerve for the sake of a swerve. How many times have we seen this crap before? A babyface wrestler turns heel, and suddenly it's "Ha ha, suckers, I was pretending to like you the whole time! Fooled you!" It never works. It leads to "who cares" heat rather than legit heel heat, because as the saying goes, fool me once shame on you...

How come no one has mentioned hogan's new (old) music? i read 4 posts on how he didn't come out to real american. How about what he did come out to. I'm surprised wwf made the effort to get the rights to voodoo chile. I guess they felt brisco and paterson ruined real american music by making into a joke. In fact it realy bizarre to hear it on wwf.

When they used beatiful day for hhh's video, they showed u2's album and said 'AVAIBLE NOW". It was funny cause the album had been out for a year already at that point. Why not show the album that voodoo chile frst appered on and say "AVAILBLE NOW" lol. I would't put it past them. Never underestmate the power of the wwf music pimping machine. I think that it would have been kickass if as Hogan was stepping out of the ring at Wrestlemania, Rock called him back in just like he did. Have the Rock shake hands with Hogan and do the whole bit, then as hogan is doing his little ear wave have the Rock rock bottom his ass right into the ground once he turned around.

Then you could have Hall and Nash come out and do their whole bit and hand the Rock an NWO shirt or something just like in the old NWO days. I think this would have definitly cemented the Rock's status as a hardcore asshole heel.

Afterwards the Rock could just say how Hogan was stealing his spotlight and the fans were going bonkers over Hogan rather than himself (which they were upon Hogan's return). I think that would have been the best way to swing it.

The Raw was pretty cool. I knew that the whole thing at WWF Headquarters would be a good way to put in the split. I think it worked out well, I like the way they issued it as a "Draft". Kind of like a real sport, Brock Lesnar is a machine, what a spinebuster on Al Snow, and a Double-Powerbomb too. Thank God they didn't give him the Hardcore Title, or he would be fighting shitty guys for a while. Angle needs a better opponent than Kane or Edge, that's all I will say bout that. Shitty main event, but what are you going to do with those guys? You can't make 2 seperate matches, and you don't want it to be exactly like the Raw before Mania. They should of made it a Tornado Tag Match or something, give it a stipulation. They had no choice really, Austin should've came down and kicked some ass, something should have happened. Nothing did, still the crowd was great, and it was a good way to go to the next show.
