If it was all about the "smaller" guys, how exciting would that be? Granted they are great wrestlers, but they can't speak or cut a promo to save their lives. Rob Van Dam, Matt & Jeff Hardy, X-Pac, Chris Benoit, Billy Kidman, Dean Malenko & Spike Dudley are just a few that are absolute bores on the mic.

Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Eddy Guerrero

I agree with everything else in your post, but there really wasnt much thought put into that comment

I said they were just a few Harry. I agree that those you mentioned, aside from Eddie who I think sucks, can work the mic. All I'm saying is the vast majority of "smaller" wrestlers suck cutting promos.

Shocker works primarily in CMLL (you can see his work frequently if you get Galavision). After seeing some of his stuff, I can totally say that he deserves a high ranking; the guy's phenomenal.

Vader, while in the twilight of his career and past his prime, is still TONS better at his age (mid 40s I believe) than conceivably any other big man in the business.

Why should I give a fuck about these Japanese, or Mexican, or Indy feds for that matter?

Uh, cause at this point all three possess wrestlers / product that is as good if not frequently BETTER than anything the WWF is doing these days?

49) William Regal

Some of you have glossed completely over this one. I agree with his ranking so high, but I know that must piss off quite a few of you. ;)

Somebody must tell me a reason why I should care where Eddy Guerrero is ranked compared to where Barry Horowitz is ranked. Every person on this board would have a different list of people, in different orders, of who is better than who. Just watch who you want to watch, and that should be that.

2002 Crack Committee Objectives:
1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year
2. Hate the Braves with a passion
3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year
4. Mets win World Series
(optional) 5. Have Red Sox finish 10 games in front of the Yankees (optional)

If you'd go to the page itself and hit the nifty little "rules" link, you'll come up with their criteria:

quote:

- The list is a reflection of who we feel are the 500 best wrestlers at the time the list is put out. Think of it as this - if we were going to put on a wrestling card on either Nov. 1 or May 1 - every single person on the list could work it. That is why we stick to the injury and other kayfabe policies mentioned later on.

- The list is reflective, but not limited too, a wrestlers previous six month body of work.

- Injuries are factored into the decision making process. Shitty booking is not. But, sooner or later, you do have to make with the matches to move up and stay on the list.

- We do not include wrestlers we have never seen work.

- We do not include wrestlers we have not seen work in the last 12 months. This window of opportunity varies based on the availability of tapes - meaning that the easier it is to get tapes the shorter the time frame. Basically that means, someone who was viewed last time period, has a one time period grace period before he has to be seen again to remain on the list.

- We didn't include wrestlers who are hurt and have missed an extended period of time. Injured wrestlers must have returned to action on or before either April 30 or October 31 to be eligible. We do consider all injury cases on a case by case basis.

- We didn't include wrestlers who are working angles like retirement and suspensions or worked injuries and any other old-school kayfabe angles.

- The list is obviously the opinions of a few men with obvious (and some not-so obvious biases). It is done to generate wrestling discussion on the board. It is done because it gives us undo pleasure fighting amongst ourselves while the list is being cobbled together and then fighting with you all about whether Scotty Mack is really better than Califana #2
