(Reuters) - World Wrestling Federation Entertainment Inc. on Friday said it bought World Championship Wresting (WCW) from AOL Time Warner Inc.'s Turner Broadcasting Systems, consolidating the homes of "The Rock" and Hulk Hogan under one umbrella. Financial terms were not disclosed, but analysts had estimated that WCW lost about $80 million last year. The purchase comes after a deal between Turner Broadcasting and Fusient Media Ventures for the WCW unit struck in January fell apart, a World Wresting Federation (WWF) spokesman said. The deal gives WWF global rights to the WCW brand, tape library and other intellectual property rights. New WCW programming is expected to air on TNN in the future to keep with the franchise's strategic alliance with Viacom Inc. . Possible cross-branded storylines could start as early as Monday night during "WWF Raw Is War" on TNN and the final performance of "WCW Monday Nitro Live" on Turner Network (TNT), WWF said in a statement.

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01	It'll be interesting to see what happens with the WWF/WCW cross promotion. I just hope the WWF creative team spread themselves too thin, then both feds could be boring.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	i heard they will run it separately. Maybe even having Shane run it. Also let some of the ECW guys and some WWF midcarder guys to keep it intersting. Than for Big PPV's like say King of the Ring, Survivor Series, Summerslam, Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble have interpromotional matches. Imagine Austin vs Goldberg Rock vs Rick Steiner Angle vs Sting Lance Storm vs Jericho or Benoit 3 Count vs hardys and Edge and Christian Booker t vs HHH Ric Flair vs Vince Options are mindblowing Teens, making the world a better place to live in.
