Now that Vince has WCW, I guess it really is his way or the highway. Doesn't the government have rules that make monopolies like this illegal (not complaining, just curious)? I mean, they busted up Microsoft, didn't they?

Not really. Its just a TV show. The defense that you can just change the channel will be used. So its not really a Monopoly.

Actually, someone asked that to 1wrestling.com, and the answer is that it isn't an illegal monopoly unless Vince STOPS other wrestling federations from forming. So, if FOX wants to start the wrestling organization they've been rumored to want to start, if Vince stops them, THEN it is illegal and the WWF woyld have to go to court. Until then, it's all nice and legal.

Besides, wouldn't the indy feds count as "competition" under law? Or does the competitor have to have a certain level of success to count?

The WWF really doesn't have to stop any up and coming feds most of the feds sooner or later will be either eliminated or bought by the WWF.

AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO!

Vince wouldnt stop any other Feds from forming or growing, cuz think about it. Where does Vince get all his talent from. Other (more minor) feds. Vince needs other federations to keep his roster growing because he doesnt just pull his wrestlers out of his ass.

vince really doesnt need any more feds to start up considering he has his own farm system like the memphis and ohio valley wrestling orginiations

i think that vince likes the competition of the other feds...for a while he was on top (80's and early 90's)...then he started to suck, so wcw came up on his ass and made him try harder to stay alive...he kicked their ass, and during that time he also worked with ecw and kicked their ass too...he loves the competition, just like we the fans do

I think its very possible for a bunch of the indies to get together and try to create a new fed, a huge one to try to rival with vince. ALl it would take would be some decent talent, a good tv slot, and good writing, to at least get noticed, not that they would win in a ratings battle, but to at least try to give some competition.

I don't see the Indies getting together to form a new fed, but I could see a new fed forming after the fallout of the purchase of WCW. Eric Bischoff is not gonna just give up on making a successful wrestling promotion. I also heard the Jerry Jarrett was interested in starting a federation of his own. With all of the talent that Vince will not want or at least not want to pay there will be stars out there to start a good fed. With the right backing and a good television time slot (hard to come by now) someone could attempt to compete with Vince. I hope it happens cause without the competition there is no drive to make the product better. Maybe Murdoch and FOX would be interested. I don't see any other television station interested in picking up wrestling unless it says WWF on it right now.
