Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | What is up, everyone? Welcome to another edition of the Twistedhumor.com Wrestling Newsletter. Well, here it is around midnight and I just got done watching Raw. Coming off a terrible Backlash PPV, I didn't think it could get worse, but it did. First off, let's talk a little bit about Backlash. If not for Shane McMahon, that show would have been a complete waste. I don't know if you guys saw it or not, but Shane took an incredible fall in his match against the Big Show. Absolutely incredible - once again, MUCH respect goes out to Shane for selling out hard! That was about it for that show, however. The main event was lack luster for a PPV. I was expecting some solid story line twists, but all we got was more of Austin, Mcmahon, and HHH breaking out chairs and sledge hammers to demolish the Undertaker and Kane. I was very disappointed in that match and the show overall. Kane needs to get himself a new agent. That guy is big and strong, and seems to get over. However, if you really look at it, he gets punked more than any WWF wrestler out there. He just got worked at the PPV, and then followed it up by getting worked again on Raw. Seriously, they have to do something to shake up the WWF because right now, it is getting very stagnant. I know the Rock won't be back for a month or so, but something has to be done. Your two major faces (Undertaker and Kane) are getting their asses kicked each night by HHH and "Sellout 3:16." I don't know about you guys, but I feel like the WWF needs to do something (or bring someone in) that can shake things up. For instance, I am sitting there last night watching Raw and shaking my head that I am actually watching Chyna vs. Trish? What the hell is that? A year ago, they have Chyna wrestling guys like Jeff Jarret, Billy Gunn, etc. And now she is wrestling Ivory, Trish, Lita, etc. Oh, and the mic work between Chyna and Lita was BRUTAL! Memo to WWF writers: they are good to look at, but for the love of God, keep the mic away from those girls - it is too painful to endure. And no, it is not because they are women; it is because they flat out suck on the microphone. I will say that I am appreciating Chyna's new look. Remember when she first came into the WWF as HHH valet? She was HUGE - and her jaw was that of a horse. After a lot of surgery and a new work out regiment (cardio as opposed to heavy weights), I can honestly say that Chyna is starting to look good. That is tough for me to say because as you guys can remember, she was BUTT ASS UGLY when she came into the WWF. Also, just a random thought - but what the hell is up with Xpac, Justin Credible, and Albert? Albert has some potential in the ring although I fear his mic skills just aren't there. Justin Credible is not good on the mic at all as evidence from his ECW rant last week on Raw - and Xpac, Syx, 123 kid, Shawn Waltman, whatever the hell his name is - he is just a douche bag in all aspects. Stop doing Karate chops and growing a beard to make you look older. You are a boner and you need to just go away. <><><><> I did like the Benoit/Angle match at Backlash. If you are a fan of good ole' fashion wrestling, this was a good match. Plus Angle is getting better each week as a performer. He is very solid on the mic and is a tremendous in-ring performer. This guy will be solid for a long time to come! You know what is really sad? They are announcing the main event last night at Raw, and out comes the Undertaker to a nice reaction. Then, Austin's music hits - and no one stands up. Remember what it used to be like when you heard that glass break? Everyone would go NUTS! Now, I know I have said this before, but why the hell would you take away that much energy from the crowd and pair Austin with HHH? Usually when you pair up wrestlers, you do it because one needs some help getting over with the crowd (i.e. Billy Gunn when he was paired with the Road Dogg). However, outside of the Rock, Austin is the most charasmatic guy in the WWF - so it begs the question, why do that? Oh well, Vince McMahon is certainly smarter than I am so I am sure he has a master plan for this angle - at least I sure hope so cause right now, it sucks! Alright, now that you have heard some of my takes, let's hear some of yours. As always, your emails were tremendous! I know, I was a little hard on your guys last week - what can I say, I was having a rough day. Nonetheless, you guys more often than not, come with some very solid takes. With that said, let's get to this week's, "Email of the Week:" "I have to disagree with your comments about the Austin angle. True it does totally blow out anything he did in the past, But think about it, who saw it coming? Austin and Vince?? NO ONE was looking for that one, Even I missed it, and I usually see things very well. But I must agree with 1 Austin comment you made, the tag match for Backlash, will be one of the best. Another thing is, the hardyz. The whole reason the WWF gave them that big push is from all the 11 and 12 year old girls jumping over their good looks sending them tons of e-mail's and faxes to see more hardyz. So im glad they lost the push, I liked the days with the 3 ways between Hardys/Edge and Christian/ and the Dudleys. Especially now that every team has a 3rd player with them now. The wwf should have stuck with that. Another note, the RTC. How can you say the RTC should be ended? True, very few agree with the views of them, but hey, they're funny. Especially bull when he comes out with his redneck voice and tries to sound serious. Your comments about TNN and the POP and XFL commercials. All I gotta say is, AMEN! And one final thing, I know you don't want mails trashing you, but this is gonna be clean. I have a small problem with your views, you seem to be very biased towards the babyfaces. I mean throughout being pissed of the hardys losing a push, RTC needing to be broken up, it just seems that way. I mean I like my fair share of faces, Chris Jericho, Benoit, Tazz, but most of my favorites have to be the heels, people like HHH, Angle, and Eddy Guerrero, They very well may be some of the greatest wrestlers. Especially angle. I mean let me take the WWFs 3 biggest names. The Rock(everyones fav babyface), HHH(everyones favorite heel), and Stone Cold(hes gone both ways). Now I know people hate hearing this, but it's true. Where were they in a year??? The rock was only famous for being a chia-pet haired loser that the honky tonk man liked. HHH was losing match's to people like Marc Mero. And the worst of the bunch, Stone Cold, losing MULTIPLE matches to SAVIO VEGA! And what has Angle done?? He had over a 35 match undefeated streak, becoming the IC AND European title holder, and being only the third in history to do it (not that the other 2 people deserve to be noted with such a great like angle), King of the Ring winner, and finishing it winning a world title. Also something many people didn't notice, he only lost 1 PPV match in his first year in the WWF. Sorry is you do enjoy heels, but this message should be put out to everyone, not just u, because frankly, I'm sick of losers like the Rock getting large cheers and people like HHH and Angle being booed. Thank you for your time, bye. First off, to defend the RTC gimmick gives your credibility problems right off the bat. Face it, that is just a played out gimmick and they need to end it - and soon! Secondly, I love a good heel! HHH, Angle, etc - these guys get booed because that is their role. Remember when the Rock was a heel? He was booed all the time, but everyone deep down still liked him because he was funny. WHen Austin was a heel (upon arrival to the WWF), he was a tremendous heel as well. Why? Because he had a solid gimmick and was funny. You may think HHH is getting screwed but if you really look at it, how often does that guy job (lose) to another wrestler - answer: not too often. Kurt Angle is tremendous and William Regal does a solid job as well. I have no problem with Austin being a heel - I think that could be a very good thing. I just want him to be a different kind of heel. With her persona, you don't have to team him up with anyone and make him look like a pussy. Keep him as a heel, but do it in such a way where he is still an independent heel. Well that's all for this week, folks! Have a great rest of your week and I'll see you all back here next week! And that's the bottom line, cause I say so! <><><><> Make you satanistic Make you take the pistol to your face And place the clip and cock it back And let it go untill your brains are rippin' out your skull so bad And sew you back and be a waste of stitches

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | I couldn't agree with you more on the whole Austin thing. Especially with the rock out now, there's no one for the crowds there to go nuts for. I guess it's an opening for new storylines, but until they get some new blood into there, who cares! same couple guys everynight doing the same damn things. and it does seem that kane is getting a huge push as of late and they're screwing that up to by just having him get the shit kicked out of him everynight. Definitely hoping for some changes sometime soon here...

Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Yea, that HC match was the best match of the night in my opinion..and it's always fun watching shane take those sick bumps. On a side note, i cant stand when people complain about things like shane not actually hitting big show on that drop..who the F--- in their right mind would lay there and let someone jump off something that high and land on top of them. Why cant people just appreciate the 'grapefruits' it takes for someone to do something amazing like that. Don't blame Canada...Blame YOURSELF!

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I think the problem with the WWF and its lame storylines may get worse. Now, with no competition at all, the writers can basicaly put crap out, and people are gonna watch it because theres nothing left to turn the channel to. And I agree in a big way with the Austin/HHH pairing - when I saw HHH running down the ramp with the sledgehammer (Rock/Austin cage match), I thought for sure a face turn was imminent - but instead, I was surprised, happily at the time, might I add. But now, its basically just the both of them trolling around with all the belts, and egos to match - its getting stale, and very quickly. I know theres a lot do be done with the WCW leftovers contract-wise, but if Vince & Co. were smart, they'd grab as much new talent as they could and bring them into the WWF - the new faces and fresh storylines would only help the quality of product. Theres really only so much you can do with the characters as far as interacting with each other. Will I still watch? Sure, like I said, theres nothing else to watch, but if it turns out that I'm flipping around the channels more and more each monday night, eventually, unless something major is happening, I'll just read about the results online (much like I do with Smackdown) Just my two cents.

Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 01 | It's funny when people say that writers can put out any crap they want because there's no competition....Think before you write!! There might not be any WRESTLING competition, but there are plenty of other things to do and/or watch on TV other than wrestling. WWF competes, just like Monday Night Football does, against everything out there. Just wait until the pendulum swings back toward MNF. If the current crap-rate of WWF storylines continues (which I don't think it will) you will no longer hear about WWF taking MNF viewers away, the WWF's ratings will continue to plummet, and drastic measures will need to be taken. Just remember--WWF competes against all things cable and network, not just other wrestling shows. People will continue to tune out if the product continues to be lame, it's as simple as that. Take it down.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | quote: I agree with you, but to a point. RAW is on monday nights 9-11pm. The demographic that RAW is geared to is men ages 13-30 lets say. So what the hell else is there to watch on other stations on a monday night that could possibly take 13-30 year olds away from RAW? Boring sit-coms or editied-hollywood movies, or bullshit teen shows. As far as something else to do, sure, read a book, go online, etc - but that can happen ANYTIME, not just monday nights (and I don't think Vinnie Mac is worried that people are going to shut his show off and pick up a book to read). All I was trying to say was that from a strictly wrestling-program point of view, with no other alternative wrestling show to watch, the WWF is basically it - so even if they suck, they wont lose as many viewers as they might have if shitty WCW or even ECW were still around.

Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | Well, I know I am basically a hypocrit for posting this but I'm going to anyway. If you don't like it, don't watch. The WWF has done nothing really different than what was really popular 2 months ago. Ever since Vince bought WCW all I have seen on this board is about how bad it is going to be and I even posted about how bad it was when they were showing 20 minute clips. But I realized that all that they are doing is what the people have proven they like. People cheer when the superstars do their signature moves or say their favorite catch phrases. Of course the WWF is going to do what they know the people cheer for. They don't realize yet that it is slowly dying but I'm sure that they will. Have faith. The WWF will prevail.

Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 01 | I think we are all kind of arguing the same point: That we love the WWF, we're pretty much going to watch it regardless of what they do, and we just want some fresh storylines. I think we are all frustrated because we saw the break ups of WCW and ECW and see all this talent out there, yet no surprises or fresh material. I don't think it's the writers getting complacent, but rather that things take time in the TV and wrestling business. So correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we're all on the same side here: The side that desires fresh twists and turns and hates stale characters like Ex-Pac. Take it down.
