WWF Smackdown Opening Segment: Kurt Angle, Steve Austin, William Regal, and Vince McMahon.

Jim Ross and Michael Cole enter as tonight’s announcers. Jerry Lawler is not present due to what happened earlier in the day.

Kurt Angle enters the ring as Smackdown starts. Major heat from the crowd. "Angle sucks!" Angle calls for quiet and begins to recite his accomplishments. He tells the crowd that he was trying to snap the Rock's ankle on Raw and asks the crowd if they like the Rock more as the champion. The crowd roars. He then shows a clip of his submission move on Raw and tells them that if he had a few more seconds, he would have broken his ankle. Steve Austin saved him and that made Angle mad. You don't want to make Angle angry. Austin also pissed off the Rock. Angle says that he doens't care if the Rock and Angle tear each other to pieces but not tonight. Angle will take care of tonight. He then challenges the Rock and Austin and waits to see who will enter first.

Stone Cold's theme plays, he enters and does his usual thing. He takes the mic and says that he was busy backstage pounding some beers when he heard Angle's rant. Stone Cold is not impressed. He doesn't give a damn about Angle being angry. He states that he is not the Rock's friend, but he does have an interest in his health as the world champ. However, Angle is not and Austin could give a damn about his health. He asks the crowd if they want to see him whip Angle's ass. Hell Yeah. Que the Rock. He enters and tells Angle not to try and stir things up between himself and Austin. They have a date with destiny. The Rock then tells Austin that he does not need his help.

William Regal and Vince McMahon enter and says that he hopes everyone is appreciative of what is going on. He says that Angle has large grapefruits to come out and challenge the Rock or Austin. That's impressive. Since Angle created the problem, Vince is the problem solver. Regal will face the Rock for the title while Angle will take on Stone Cold. Austin doesn't see the need in waiting and attacks Angle.

Matt Hardy and Lita vs Crash and Molly Holly

Matt opens the match by attacking Crash. Crash counters and throws Matt into the corner. Backstage, Jeff is shown observing the match. Matt takes a double suplex from Molly and Crash for a 2 count. Molly then drags Lita across the ring. Lita counters with a rollup for a 2 count. Lita connects with a headscissors on Molly, who counters with a suplex of her own. Both tag.

Matt hits a clothesline and gets a 2 count on Crash. Outside the ring, Lita trips Crash. Molly connects with a senton on Matt but Lita makes the save. Lita whips Crash with a hurricanrana and Matt hits the twist of fate and gets the pin. Hardy and Lita kiss and leave the ring together.

Backstage Segment: The Radicalz, Christian, and Buh Buh Ray Dudley, Right To Censor

Radicalz are shown backstage. Guerrero tells Benoit he will be there for him tonight. Benoit tells Guerrero he does not trust him right now so tonight stay out of his business or they are gonna have it out. Guerrero does not understand Benoit. Have I ever let you down before? And you come to me and talk to me this way? What gives you the right to talk to me this way! Benoit says do you wanna try me. Come down to that ring tonight and prove me wrong. Guerrero leaves.

Buh Buh Ray Dudley is shown talking on a pay phone inside the arena. Christian attacks him with a chair and leaves.

X-Pac with Justin Credible vs. Chris Benoit with Eddie Guerrero

Backstage, Goodfather, Ivory and Bull are shown guarding a closed room. Richards is inside questioning someone and they ask each other if the rumors are true.

Eddie enters and sits at the announcer's table. Benoit starts the match as the agressor. Benoit is preoccupied with Eddie and X-Pac puts him in sleeper. X-Pac connects with a spinning heel kick and gets a 2 count. He puts on anouther sleeper but Benoit counters with a belly to back suplex. Benoit then hits a swan dive from the top rope and follows with several german suplexes. Eddie enters the ring and saves Benoit from an attempted bronco buster. Benoit puts X-Pac in the crossface for the submission. Justin Credible then gets beat down by the Radicalz. Benoit is angry at Eddie for interfering.

Backstage Segment: Right To Censor

Backstage, Richards emerges and it is shown that Val Venis was inside. Richards tells his crew to be prepared. He then goes back into the room and asks Val, "How could you do this to us?"

The Rock vs William Regal – WWF Title Match

After Regal puts in some quality mic time, the match begins. Regal hits the Rock with a few kicks. Rock back with a forearm. Regal with a side Russian leg sweep. Rock gets his face plastered into the apron. Crowd chants "Regal sucks!" Cut to backstage, where Austin is shown observing.

Back in the ring, the Rock connects with a DDT and a 2 count. Regal hits a belly to back suplex for a 2 count. Rock throws a few punches and a hip toss. Rock then nails a spinebuster and applies the sharpshooter. Angle runs down the ramp but is met by the Rock before he can enter the ring. Rock tries to get back to the match but Angle gets in the ring and the bell sounds. Angle runs away when Rock picks up a chair. He uses it on Regal instead.



Vince and Regal speak backstage. Regal hopes that he did not let Vince down. Vince says that he is not disappointed and that this is part of a much bigger plan.

Richards and Val Venis emerge from the little room. Richards says that Venis confessed and that his partners know what to do. RTC members beat on him and then drag him away.

Right To Censor Interview

Val is brought to the ring by the RTC. Richards takes the mic and tells the crowd that temptations are sometimes too strong. The fight for good is difficult. Even though we are not perfect, we strive to be decent and moral.

Val Venis takes the mic and says that he can no longer look in the mirror. He used to live as a man who used the excuse that he didn't know any better. Tonight, though, he has no excuse. He chose lust and made a horrible mistake. He erased all the good that he has done in one night. He begins to cry. He says that he was not man enough to turn away from temptation. He says that he fell victim to the vixen's perversion. He fell into a place of darkness and has only himself to blame.

Val continues and says that he is sorry even though he doesn't deserve forgiveness or pity. He didn't mean to hurt anyone or let anyone down. It was the biggest mistake of his life. He says that even though he cannot change the past, he can become clean again with the help of the RTC.

Richards takes the mic again and asks the crowd and the television audience to forgive Val, just as the RTC has. They all hug. Then the Acolytes enter and run everyone out of the ring. The clothesline Richards and crush him with a double powerbomb.

Devon Dudley, Undertaker and Kane vs. Haku, Christian, and Rikishi

Taker and Rikishi begin in the ring. Taker hits a flying clothesline. Taker shows off with a little old school. He tags in Kane who hits Rikishi with a clothesline and then another. Kane tags in Devon.

Rikishi misses an attempted sit-down and Dudley connects on a neckbreaker. Rikishi counters with a clothesline and tags in Christian. He stomps Dudley and hits a backbreaker.

Haku is tagged in and headbutts Devon. Haku with an elbow drop.

Kane and Christian tag in. Kane hammers him with a boot and a press slam. Kane with a side slam. He then chokeslams Haku and calls for the "whassup" headbutt.

Devon goes up, Kane plays the headshaking "whassup" role of BuhBuh, and Devon hits the move.

Taker then chokeslams Christian and hits the last ride for the pin and victory.

Kurt Angle vs Steve Austin

After a promo for WWF Music 5, Angle and Austin are seen walking backstage toward the ring. Before the match, the Rock enters and walks down to the announcer's table.

The match begins as Angle runs out to meet Austin on the ramp. Stone Cold quickly takes control and brings the action back to center. Austin hammers Angle's head into the table right in front of the Rock. The brawl goes back in the ring.

Austin with a suplex and a 2 count. Angle then manages to put Austin in the ankle lock but Austin stretches for the rope break. Angle stomps him for a bit before the action goes back outside the ring where Angle throws Austin on to the table.

In the ring, Angle gives Austin 2 consecutive belly to belly suplexes for a pin but Austin kicks out at 2. Front face lock by Angle, then an Austin suplex. Back and forth between the two. Austin with a press, Angle with a suplex.

Regal comes down the ramp and begins to brawl with the rock. Rock tosses him into the ring where he is beaten down by Austin. The ref calls for the bell and ends the match. Angle and Regal team up to stomp on Austin. Austin hits the stunner on Regal.

Rock enters the ring. Austin turns from stomping on Angle. The two stare each other down.
