From 1wrestling.com and Dave Scherer. They're always right. This would be pretty damn cool.

The big story making the rounds today is that Jerry "The King" Lawler will re-debut for the WWF tomorrow night on Raw. The story I am getting is that Lawler will be a major part in the WCW Invasion angle and will probably end up as an announcer for the WCW show when it hits the air. It appears at this point that Scott Hudson may very well be his broadcast partner.

Lawler is a perfect fit in the WCW storyline. He quit the WWF in February when his wife, the Kat, was fired by the company. A few people I spoke with today said that Kat will be brought back with Lawler in some kind of role, possibly even getting just one TV appearance, so that roadblock to a compromise would be out of the way.

There is no definitive word on how this will affect the other announcing teams at this time.

Aren't they the ones who said Bret Hart was on his way back a couple of weeks ago?

Seriously though, I'm probably on my own here, but I never liked Lawler as announcer. His voice is just irritating to me, and he can never seem decide whether he is a face or a heel. I say, bring back Bobby Heenan.

It could be worse, they could bring in Tony "whattamaneuver" Schiavone...

Well, you got me there, Sir. I guess what I meant to say was that HE (meaning Scherer) is always right. I believe that bogus story was reported by someone else on the site, either Woodward or Ryder. Scherer's usually right on the money on these things though. I think this would be hella cool.

Now, wrestlingobserver.com and Dave Meltzer is reporting that a WWF source has told him that Lawler, who was planned to return for over a week, dropped out of the deal over the weekend, and now it will Scott Hudson and Arn Anderson who will do commentary for the WCW portion of tonight's RAW. He also said the planned WCW main event match for tonight is Buff Bagwell v. Booker T for the WCW title.

Now, it seems that last week, Lawler posted a message on his web site saying he is not a part of the WWF, when it seems that he was, so there seemed to have been a conspiracy to not let this news leak. It wouldn't surprise me that now that it HAS, the WWF would start these false rumors that Lawler won't show up to make it a surprise still.

Or, Lawler could have backed out at the last minute for real. I guess we'll find out tonight.

I think Paul does a great job. Raw has gotten much better since he has helped with booking. Less boring interviews and more quailty and longer matches, especially the main events.

Having Lawler for WCW would be great though.

Well, if the King shows up tonight to host the wcw portion, more power to him...if we are stuck with Arn, it might not be that good...and if that is the main event match for wcw, I think we are in trouble! couldn't we get a real worker instead of buff? PLEASE!

What's the deal with Rob Van Dam. I thought he was signed. I really think these are tryouts and you will see lotf of WWF wrestlers in WCW including big names like Angle and possibly even the Rock.

And bring in Scott Hall. Don;t waste the money on Goldberg and Nash. Spend the money on Ric Flair and Scott Steiner. Those 2 are needed to fuel WCW. Even if Steiner can't wrestle right now due to injury, he can cut a promo with the best of them. And no one does a promo better than Flair.

Also one thing that would be major is Shane siding with Vince's biggest enemy ever in wrestling and that is Eric Bischoff.

Teen Week, why would they bring in a crack addict who you can't trust and who is absolutely WORTHLESS in the wrestling scene and has been since about 1999. I mean, who gives a shit about Scott "Alka" Hall anymore? Roddy Piper was relevant at one time, too, but as we all excruciatingly found out with him, that doesn't mean you're relevant five years later (or even 15 years later as with Roddy). The poor guy is gonna die in a gutter in about a year the rate he's been going. Do you think Vince wants to deal with THAT headcase? I mean, he basically fired Shawn Michaels for acting weird at a Smackdown taping!

I mean, is he supposed to be afraid WCW will pick him up or something?

And, dont get started on Bischoff. Please. First off, Vince wants to murder him, not employ him, and if that guy pops up on my TV screen with his huge ego and little charisma, I might just shoot myself.

Supposedly, from what I've read on the net, RVD could show up tonight or even in the upcoming weeks. He'll debut before Invasion though, you gotta expect.

Steiner will likely sign, but right now, he's injured, so he'l sit on his ass and collect the Time Warner money until the WWF can actually use him. He wouldn't be able to do anything right now anyway.

Ric Flair wants too much money for the WWF's blood, as they don't wanna pay too much for a guy who ain't gonna wrestle. I happen to agree with you they should get him, but then I don't own a virtual monopoly and can pick and choose who to hire and at what price either.
And I guess it's been pretty much confirmed on a few web sites that Lawler ain't coming and that Arn Anderson will commentate. Although not funny AT ALL, Anderson could be a pretty damn good commentator, doing much of the same type of broadcasting Heyman does right now to get the storylines over.

Too bad, Lawler would have been cool, as cliched as he had gotten towards the end there. He sorta reminds of the Rock. I would've been all excited to see him again, but then I'd remember how stale he is and I wouldn't give a crap anymore after a week. I'll be doing that enough when Dwayne comes back in a month, anyway, I guess.

Should be a fun night tonight, though. And how many god damned times have I posted on this thread. Damn, do I need a life. Or at least something to do at work besides go on the net, anyway.

lawler would be great for the new wcw. i'm not sure if i believe this 'falling of the deal' over the weekend thing and i wouldn't be surprised if lawler shows up tonight. i hope they don't remove heyman from the commentary boot as he is doing a great job. his attacks at jr and viceversa are hilarius!

I heard that the reason Lawler backed out was because they had promised that Kat would do something but then when he got the contracts his was the only one there.

And Arn Anderson was on RAW? I couldn't tell, cuz I COULDN"T FRIGGIN HEAR HIM! CMON! Whether you like Lawler or not, you gotta admit, when he was there, YOU KNEW HE WAS THERE!

I agree, I could barely hear a word he said - it was interesting for a few minutes, but I expected the Austin run-in. And the cut to Daddy Mac getting busted by Linda was pretty damn funny.

Not the most serious RAW, but entertaining nonetheless.

I still care about Scott Hall. Ecge & Christian with Kurt Angle have done an admirable job at replacing Hall as the best guy in wrestling, but nobody could top Hall.
