WWF SmackDown!

We begin with video from last Thursday, when Vince begged for the hell-raising beer-drinking stunner-giving Stone Cold. Then yesterday, when Vince pleaded with Austin at the bar. We see dueling video of the WWF and ECWCW pep rallies, including the Classy One's appearance, and Austin's decision to come back and raise some hell once again, in the name of Team WWF.

The SmackDown! video rolls, the pyros explode down the entrance way, and the final big show before Invasion in under way!

Michael Cole and Good Ol' JR welcome us and introduce some matches for tonight including Dudleys/Taz vs. Taker/Kane/Tajiri; Rhyno/Booker T vs. Austin/Angle.

The ECWCW Troops all march down to the ring, led by Steph, Shane, and Paul.

Shane says that this Sunday, the course of the industry will be changed forever. It's not about who is best. The WWF has been best for years. But, then again, they've never faced competition like this. He and Steph have put every cent they have into this. They've sold their stake in WWF, just for this. But no one here would do something like that. Not a single one of the fans would lay it all on the line, but that's what they're doing at Invasion. No WWF Superstar will deny them of their destiny.

Steph says that the WWF has run its course. Do you really think an old decrepid man like Freddie Blassie could do anything? Do you really think Stone Cold can stop this force? Nothing can stop this force. Nothing can stop this Invasion. No force of nature, no act of god, could put a stop to this. But Vince had better remember one thing: Steph and Vince don't have to work "in the interest of fairness". So on Sunday, they'll be playing dirty.

Paul says that playing dirty is just a family trait. Just like when Vincent K took the business out of his father, Vincent J McMahon's hands. And how long did Vincent J. continue living? A year at most. And who's responsable for the loss of Vincent J? Vincent K. McMahon. Vince took the WWF and brought about "sports entertainment". But who wants "sports entertainment"? Paul and the ECWCW aren't about "sports entertainment", they're about wrestling! Who wants entertainers? It's about the wrestlers. So after the Invasion on Sunday, there will be no more WWF. They will have stand on the WWF's grave, give the last rights, and celebrate the death of the World Wrestling Federation.

In the back, Vince is watching and just shaking his head. Jericho enters the office and asks what Vince thought of it. Vince says that words hurt a bit, but actions speak louder than words. So just like Austin will lead the WWF to victory at Invasion, Jericho will lead the WWF tonight against DDP.

Jericho asks if Vince was mad at all about what he said to Steph on Raw. Vince asks what he said, and Jericho retells that ECW is now Every Customer Welcome, and that Steph may be the Queen of Hardcore, but movies don't really count. Vince says he's a bit upset, because it would have been better if he had called her a no-good, bottom-feeding, trashbag tramp. Vince tells "Junior" to go out there and kick some ass. Fade Out.

DDP vs. Chris Jericho

Yo, it's he, it's he; it's DDP. Page 'bangs' his way down to the ring. Then the Y2J Countdown hits 0.00, and out comes the Ayatollah. And who is here to referee, but Nick Patrick.

Jericho attacks Page, but DDP backs him into a corner and starts chopping away. Jericho fights out and throws chops of his own. Clothesline by Jericho and a flying crossbody 1-2-kickout.

Knees by Jericho, and he trips up Page. He tries for the Walls, but DDP kicks him in the face and clotheslines him down. Rams to Jericho's shoulder and Page clotheslines Jericho again. Reverse chin lock by Page. Page hits a belly-belly 1-2-shoulder up.

Sleeper by Page, but Jericho elbows out. Low knee by Page and a spinning powerbomb by DDP 1-2-kickout. DDP signals for the Diamond Cutter, but Jericho hits a DDT, and both men go down.

Punches by Jericho and a flying forearm. Back elbow by Jericho, followed up with a bulldog, but Patrick refuses to pin. Jericho goes after Patrick, but Page rolls him up and Patrick fast counts 1-2-kickout.

Jericho runs at Page, but Page ducks and Jericho nails Patrick. Jericho tosses DDP out of the ring, but Patrick calls for the bell. Jericho goes to put the Walls on Patrick, but DDP runs in with a chair. Jericho ducks the chair, and locks in the Walls of Jericho! Patrick crawls over to the chair, but Jericho sees him and stomps the chair out of his hands. Patrick runs away and Jericho nails DDP with the chair.

In the back, Paul Heyman is in Regal's office, and more specifically, his chair. Heyman says he can offer Regal a great opportunity. When ECWCW runs WWF out of business, they're going to need a class-act. And you know, ECW stands for Extremely Classy Wrestling. He and Steph have decided that it's time for Regal to say goodbye to Vince and join the future of wrestling.

Regal suddenly snaps. He makes Heyman get his feet off his desk. He pins Heyman against the wall and tells him that he, Steph, and Shane can all go to hell, and if he doesn't leave right now, Regal will perform acts of violence that would make the devil himself cry for mercy. Needless to say, Paul hightails it out. Fade Out.

Lance Storm vs. Christian

Lance and Mike Awesome make their way down to the ring, and Lance takes a mic. If he could be serious for a minute, this may not be the best city in which to talk about championships, but the fact that Edge and Christian have held the WWF Tag Titles seven times, says a lot about the quality of this company.

You Think You Know Them... Edge and Christian come down and don't even bother to stop for mic work. Christian's just ready to make short work of this Reekasaurus.

Exchange of slaps to start, but Storm quickly hits a back elbow. Christian clotheslines Lance over the top and he hits his head on the announce table. Christian knocks Lance's head into the apron. As Hebner yells at Christian, Lance clotheslines Edge. Hebner has to hold back Edge now, allowing Mike Awesome to clothesline Christian down.

Back in the ring, Lance stomps away at Christian and hits a snap mare. Leg drop by Lance 1-2-shoulder up. Knees in the corner by Lance, but Christian fights out. Lance catches Christian and slams him down 1-2-shoulder up.

Lance slams Christian down by the hair and then stomps away. Punches by Lance 1-2-kickout. Sleeper by Lance, but Christian elbows out. Reverse driving backbreaker by Christian and both men go down.

Knockdown punches by Christian and a big back body drop. Dropkick by Christian 1-2-kickout. Lance hits a jawbreaker, but Christian flapjacks him onto the ropes. Shoulder block by Christian 1-2-kickout.

Christian pulls Lance up and hits a Tornado Reverse DDT 1-2-broken by Awesome. Awesome and Edge get into it, and Hebner admonishes Edge. Awesome runs in with a chair, but Hebner sees it and tries to take it away. While Awesome and Hebner are tied up, Edge runs in and Spears Lance. Christian makes the cover 1-2-3!

In the back, Vince is still waiting for Austin to arrive. Sgt. Slaughter comes in, head down. He tells Vince that he better sit down for this news. He sits Vince down, and then tells him that Stone Cold is here! Oh, that silly Sarge...always playing with Vince's emotions. Fade Out.

In the back, Stacy Keibler tells Torrie that she better hurt Trish out there tonight. Nick Patrick comes in and says that, even though they roughed him up, he's still going to be out to ref the Arm Wrestling Match tonight.

In the back, Regal is telling Tajiri how proud he is of how they handled Taz. Regal tells Tajiri about him partnering with Undertaker and Kane. Tajiri is ecstatic, and Taker, Kane and Sara come in. Regal says that he wanted to get them all together before the match because they're facing the Dudleys and Taz, because they're representing the WWF. Meanwhile, Tajiri gets on Regal's desk and imitates Kane and Taker's "sit up after being beaten" and then simulates being chokeslammed. Kane: "Freak."

In the back, Stone Cold and Debra enter Vince's room. Vince says that this is going to be magic, because the Old Stone Cold is back. He tells Austin to stand up. Vince goes for a hug, but Austin stops him. Vince, a little sad that he didn't get a hug, goes off to get some water. Fade Out.

Dudleyz/Tazz vs. Taker/Kane/Tajiri

The D-Bombs drop, and out come the Dudley Boyz. Then fellow ECW-turned-WWF-turned-ECW star Taz comes down. And yet all three men still have their old WWF-style entrances...

Tajiri, new entrance video and all, comes out, but stays on the ramp so as to not get triple teamed. The organ plays and Taker and Kane keep rollin' down the ramp to join up with Tajiri.

Tajiri runs right into the ring and gets triple teamed, while Taker and Kane quickly jump in the ring and clear Taz and BuhBuh out.

In the ring, Kane and D-Von are fighting, but BuhBuh gets his eyes on Sara. Taker tosses him over the barrier for thinking unpure thoughts.

Kane starts beating on all three men, but eventually they overpower him. Tag to Taz. Kane big boot the Suplex Machine and walks over the corner and tags in Tajiri.

BuhBuh runs in and drops Tajiri hard into the mat. I guess we're supposed to assume BuhBuh tagged in. Punches in the corner by BuhBuh. Tag to D-Von. Punches and kicks by D-Von, then a back elbow. Tag to Taz.

Snap mare by Taz, who starts with clubs to the neck. Clothesline by Taz. Big boot by Tajiri, but he runs into a head and arm suplex by Taz. Taz runs at Tajiri for the Tazmission, but Tajiri ducks and reverse thrust kicks Taz down. Tag to Taker.

Taker runs in and starts cleainging house, knocking BuhBuh to the outside, sidewalk slamming D-Von and DDTing Taz. The Dudleys run back in and Taker and Kane brawl with them outside. In the ring, Taz locks in the Tazmission on Tajiri, but Taker comes back in and chokeslams Taz down 1-2-3! Fade Out.

In the back, Lita meets up with Trish and says that, while they may not be friends, they are WWFers. And so at Invasion, they won't just beat Torrie and Stacy, they'll humiliate them.

Earl Hebner comes in and says that Nick Patrick had said he would officiate the Arm Wrestling match. Well after all the cheating he's done, Earl won't let that happen and he will officiate the match.

APA vs. Paulmbo/O'Haire

The aPa come down, followed by Palumbo and O'Haire.

Bradshaw DDTs O'Hare and makes a quick pin 1-2-kickout. Elbow by O'Haire and some kicks to the head. Bradsahw runs and tackles O'Haire through the ropes and to the outside. Bradshaw slams O'Haire into the stairs and rolls him back inside. Back in the ring, Bradshaw goes up top and hits a flying shoulder tackle 1-2-kickout.

Palumbo knocks Bradshaw down and O'Haire slams him down hard for a two count, while Faarooq and Palumbo fight outside. Spinning heel kick by O'Haire 1-2-shoulder up 1-2-rope break.

O'Haire goes for a spingboard moonsault, but lands on his feet, only to be booted down by Bradshaw 1-2-kickout. Elbows by Bradshaw, and a fallaway slam 1-2-kickout.

Palumbo gest on the apron and Bradshaw goes to hit him, but O'Haire rolls him up 1-2-kickout. Bradshaw big boots Palumbo off the apron, ducks a kick and hits O'Haire with the Clothesline From Hell 1-2-3!

Arm Wrestling Match: Trish vs. Torrie

Torrie and Stacy come down to the ring, followed by Trish and Lita. Already in the ring are Nick Patrick and Earl Hebner, both ready to referee.

They go to lock up, but Torrie quickly lets go. They lock up again and Trish has it, then Torrie, then Trish, then Torrie, then Trish again going going, no!

Trish tries again and as Earl looks to watch if the hand hits, Nick Patrick sucker punches Earl. Lita goes to check on Earl, allowing Stacy to pull Torrie's arm down and Patrick calls for the bell!

Lita gets up and spears Stacy, while Trish and Torrie go at it. Earl gets up and takes down Patrick. Earl starts going to town on Patrick and Lita and Trish pull him off, only to attack Patrick as well!

In the back, Vince is on the phone, and gets some good news. He says that tonight is a night fo celebration, because he just word that his divorce proceedings are officially "on hold". And he has just the idea of how to celebrate, and Vince leaves. Fade Out.

Jeff Hardy/Xpac vs. RVD/Billy Kidman

As Jeff Hardy makes his way down the ramp, we are told that Jeff vs. Rob Van Dam for the Hardcore Title has been signed for Invasion. Then the man that got everything he ever wanted, including a face pop thanks to teaming with Jeff Hardy, X-Pac makes his way down. Then Kidman and RVD come down. For once, RVD is the only man in a ring without gold.

Jeff and Kidman start off. Snapmare by Jeff, who ducks a crossbody attempt and stomps away in the corner. Kidman ducks a clotehsline and powerbombs Jeff down. Kidman tags in RVD and holds Jeff prone for an RVD leg drop.

Spear in the corner by RVD. Jeff 'buckles RVD and then hurricanranas him down 1-2-kickout. Armwrench and a tag to X-Pac, who jabs down on the prone arm. Pac continues to wrench the arm, and hits a spinning heel kick 1-2-shoulder up.

Pac locks in a sleeper, but RVD elbows out, only to be clotheslined down. Monkey toss by RVD and a spinning heel kick of his own. Kick by RVD and a rolling wheel into a flip splash 1-2-shoulder up. Tag to Kidman.

Powerbomb by Pac and both men go down. Tag to Jeff, who knocks RVD off the apron first and then hits a legdrop on Kidman. Jawbreaker to RVD, but Kidman attacks from behind. Pac takes Kidman down and lays down for Poetry in Motion. Jeff lays down and Pac leaps off him into the Bronco Buster. This all allow RVD to come in, but Jeff takes him down. Pac hits the X-Factor, but he's not the legal man!

Jeff climbs the ringpost for a Swanton, but Kidman rolls out of the way. RVD climbs up and hits the Five Star Frog Splash on Jeff. Pac goes for the X-Factor on RVD, but Rob turns and splits, giving Pac a jawbreaker in the process. Kidman spins Pac around and hits the knee bulldog 1-2-3!

In the back, Vince comes back to his office with a guitar in hand. After he properly butchers the theme to "Welcome Back Kotter", Austin says that the guitar is out of tune. Austin takes the guitar, tunes it, and smashes it over Vince's head! Fade Out.

In the back, Shane and Steph are firing up Team ECWCW, and tell them that tonight, they'll prove that Austin and Angle are ineffective.

In the back, the WWF doctor checks on Vince when Kurt runs in and asks how Vince is. Vince says that he's a bit lightheaded, but in a way, he's never been better.

Rhyno/Booker T vs. Kurt Angle/Stone Cold

Booker T and Shane'O Mac come down to the ring first. Then Rhyno comes down, with Steph and Heyman. Angle comes out and into the ring, and immediately gets Gored by Rhyno.

The ECWCWers double team on Angle until the glass breaks, and Austin starts whooping ass. Knockdown punches to both Booker and Rhyno. He tosses Booker T over the top rope and stomps away on Rhyno. Booker T runs in and gets a Stunner! Rhyno goes to Gore Austin, but Austin kicks him back and Stunners him!

Suddenly, muffled screams are heard, and we see that DDP is stuffing Debra into the trunk of a limo! Austin sees what has happened and immediately runs off to the back. Aw, see folks? He really does care for her.

Meanwhile, Booker T, Rhyno, and Angle are all down in the ring. Shane checks on Booker, Paul on Rhyno, and ref Tim White checks on Angle.

In the back, Taker attacks DDP, and suddenly all the ECWCWers attack him. Jericho, Kane and the Acolytes and the rest of the WWF Troops appear and the brawl ensues. We hear a car screech off and DDP waves goodbye from the limo that Debra is in. Austin pulls a guy out of a limo and storms off after DDP and his wife.

In the ring, Angle hits the Olympic Slam on Booker T, but the Dudleys hit the ring. Angle manages to hold off Booker T and the Dudleys, but Rhyno Gores him down. Angle takes one of them down and goes for the AngleLock, but he is quickly beaten back down. Ax Kick by Booker T. Wassup Headbutt by the Dudleys. BuhBuh calls for the tables, and D-Von, being the helpful brother, goes and gets one for him. Shane and Rhyno set the table up, only for Kurt to be 3Ded through it. End Show
